How to terminate a vlan on ASR 9000 and bridge it to a port on asr 9000

hi guys;
so here is another issue i have.
Scenario:
a switch in the north is trunking a VLAN for a client at our central site. The switch in north site is a 3560 and central site node is ASR 9000.
This vlan is extended along with few others to distribution switch (7609) and from there teh same VLAN is trunked to a 2960 device at the same site as that of ASR. The idea is to carry the vlan from teh reote site to teh ASR at our central site and then bridge it to a seperate port on ASR and hook this port up to our fibre patch panel, hence providing a service to the client connecting to us at our northern site and then getting connected to teh internet service provider via teh patch panel.
Since we can not make a port on ASR an access port, i am not sure how we can do the above mentioned interconnect.

GigabitEthernet0/0/0/1 is the access port (untagged).
interface GigabitEthernet0/0/0/0.100 accepts tagged frames with vlan 100.
L2vpn bridge-domain cust1 connects both interfaces together.
GigabitEthernet0/0/0/0.100 has tag rewrite operation. Removing tag on ingress, so sending untagged to GigabitEthernet0/0/0/1, and pushing tag 100 on egress, so untagged frames from gi0/0/0/1 got tagged.

  • Cisco 1702i WAP: how to get an interface in a non-native bridge group/ VLAN to be recognized by the internal DHCP server

    Does anyone know how the internal DHCP server in these access points connects to virtual interfaces and bridges in the unit?
    Is there some sort of default connection that connects the DHCP server to the native bridge group or VLAN?
    In a test case, with an SSID in the native VLAN and bridge group, the 1702i serves an IP address to a wireless client no problem. But with a second SSID in a non native VLAN and bridge group, no IP gets served. My only guess is that since the bvi1 defaults to the native bridge group and VLAN, sub-interfaces also in this group are assumed to be in the same subnet as bvi1, or in this case:
    interface bvi1
      ip address 192.168.1.205 255.255.255.0
      no ip route-cache
      exit
    It would be the ..1. subnet.
    Since the dhcp pool is set as:
    ip dhcp pool GeneralWiFi
      network 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0
      lease 1
      default-router 192.168.1.1
      dns-server 8.8.8.8
      exit
    There may be an assumption that anything bvi1 can talk to is in the ..1. subnet, so the above pool gets activated on a request coming through bvi1.
    Is the DHCP server just hanging out waiting for a request from an "area" that is assumed to be on the same subnet as the given pool?
    Do I need to somehow show the device what subnet the 2nd SSID/ subinterfaces are in so the internal DHCP server can decide it needs to go to work, or is there some sort of bridging between the DHCP server and the interfaces that needs to be done? I am trying to use the same DHCP pool for the second subnet at this point, since I assume I will need another router to service an additional subnet and DHCP pool.

    Keep in mind that DHCP is a broadcast packet to start. So the AP can only listen in the subnet that it has an IP address for.
    Now, for any other subnet you can use the AP for DHCP but you have to have an IP helper address on your L3 pointing back to the AP.
    That being said, I wouldn't use the DHCP server on the AP as it is limited. You'd be better off using a Microsoft server or some other device that is designed for DHCP.

    Problem/question:
    I can't figure out how to import midi timecode data from either an Ensoniq ASR-10 or Roland VS-880 Vxpanded into Logic Express 9, so I can then use Logic Express 9 as the master.  No manuals seem to explain that; I just can't find it.
    Background/basics:
    1.  My ultimate goal will be to move all midi data from the Ensoniq ASR-10 floppies and all digital audio files from the VS-880 into Logic Express 9.  Once the midi timing is imported into a Logic Express 9 file, I'll import the data from the Ensoniq & Roland via steps 2a & 2b below.
    1a.  Ten years ago I somehow (am in the process of re-learning what I did 10 years ago) imported the midi timing into the Roland VS-880 Vxpanded from the ASR-10, and then used the VS-880 as the Master to control the ASR-10.   So my current status is that I use the Roland VS-880 as the master, and the Ensoniq ASR-10 as the slave.
    2.  FYI for anyone who might be in the same boat, wanting to transfer stuff from an Ensoniq ASR-10 and Roland VS-880 to the computer:
    2a.  I will import all midi sequence data from my ASR-10 floppy disks via a utility purchased here, which will all a PC to read Ensoniq-formatted disks, and then just hopefully cut/paste midi files into Logic Express 9 (FYI only):  www.chickensys.com

    I'm don't think that cutting/pasting the midi data into a Logic Express 9 sequence file (step 2a above) will do that, because there are all kinds of tempo & time signature changes in the midi files unfortunately.

    Note, after the thread "startThread" runs, it has an infinite loop and will not terminate, until the user clicks to terminate.(I didn't call jvm->DetachCurrentThread();_endthreadex(0); in the "startThread" because the java thread will not terminate by itself)
    Thus, the only way to terminate the thread is to call closehandle(hthread) in the main thread, which may cause jvm to throw an error.
    Do you know how to terminate a java thread safely???

  • How to Terminate the BPM Process instance

    If I have an instance of bpm process which fault at the database service task, I want to manually terminate or suspend it. I tried to do it in the workspace as an bpm administrator, however, since the instance pass the human task already, so that i can't suspend the instance. On the enterprise manager console, I don't see any way to terminate one instance. Please advise and it is so important and urgent for me, since our bpm project already on prodction, we have to fix it as soon as possible. Thanks in advance

    I'm thinking you're asking what you can do with an instance that has an uncaught exception and not how to have modeled it so they can be properly handled. If you're not catching the exception, in any of the 7 techniques listed below - you're kind of stuck.
    If you have a service task and you'd like to handle the exception (manually or other), you have the choices listed below. If you are using none of these, then you're allowing the BPMN engine to handle the exception and about all you can do is to delete the instance in Enterprise Manager.
    1) You could add a catch error event to the boundary of the Service task and have that event designated to handle the exception thrown. From the boundary event, you might have a sequence flow to an Interactive activity that lets you hande the exception. Once handled, the instance can continue on with the process.
    2) You could add an event subprocess in the same process as the Service activity that has a start error event and have that event designated to handle the exception thrown. From the event subprocess, you might have a sequence flow to an Interactive activity that lets you hande the exception. The difference between this scenario and the first is that the instance in the process has to terminate in the end event in the event subprocess.
    3) If your process is invoked as an embedded subprocess, you could add a boundary event (1 above) or catch it in an event subprocess (2 above).
    4) If your process is a reusable process invoked from a parent process using a Call activity, if the exception isn't caught inside the called subprocess you could add a boundary event to the Call activity in the parent process. This is similiar to 1 above and you'd need a sequence flow comingin out of the boundary catch error event on the Call activity to go somewhere in the process to handle the exception.
    5) If your process is a reusable process invoked from a parent process using a Call activity, if the exception isn't caught inside the called subprocess and it is not caught by a boundary error event on the parent's call activity then you could add an event subprocess in the parent process that has a start error event and have that event designated to handle the exception thrown inside the child process.
    6) There is a way to handle exceptions thrown inside a peer process but I'm guessing that might be too much for this post.
    7) You can handle exceptions using a Policy outside of the processes. Rather than using the above to handle exceptions, you could use policy based exception handling where you give the policy the different types of faults you want to catch and if you want to retry, let it be handled by someone in Enterprise Manager and if you just want to abort the instance.
    If the exception is not caught, then you're in the scenario you're in now and the BPMN engine is where it is unfortunately caught. Although you can see it, it is a non-recoverable exception and about all you can do is delete the instance in Enterprise Manager.

    So, as you can see above, I have two subnets coming from the same router which supports multiple DHCP server (I am not doing vLAN on the router). I want to divide ports 1-12 in vLAN ID 100 with subnet 192.168.5.0/24 to feed all the 12 ports and ports 13-24 in vLAN ID 200 with subnet 192.168.2.0/24 to all those ports.
    Despite the trouble of making above diagram, I don't want you to think I am looking for something complex. Just basic simple vLAN and dividing the switch into two switches basically; Port 1-12 and 13-24.
    I would also be happy if someone can suggest how I can include the G1, G2, G3, and G4 as part of the vLAN as well so that the whole top row of the ports on the Cisco switch can be dedicated to vLAN 100 and the bottom to vLAN 200.
    Since I am not very verse with Cisco I use the Web Interface. I took the switch out of the box and set it to Standalone mode (from the previous stack mode) and connected my router to one of the G(x) ports but it did not work until I connected the router to one of the 1-24 ports. That is another issue I am facing.
    My question:
    What are the exact steps through the Web Admin Interface to make this division to work (the creation of vLAN)? I created vLAN in Properties > vLAN management but when I tried to add ports to it I got "illegale port mode...."
    Unfortunately, the guides do not have a streamlined guide for this. Can someone please post how this is done?
    I definitly prefer the Web Interface over the Console as this switch is co-located and it's hard to have physical access to it everytime a change is required. But web access is easily available.
    ***Bonus question: Currently I have setup the switch to pickup a static IP through one of the subnets. That is how I access the managed switch. Once vLAN is setup, how would I be able to get to the router Admin Interface?

    Just want to add a short  video i made for you,  that demonstrates what I believe you wanted.
    I reset my SGE2000  to factory defaults to perform, the configuration.  Make sure you have at least version 3 of the firmware on your SFE2000.
    At any time the recording can be paused so you can keep up with me .
    I used a UC520 as my WAN router with a VLAN1 IP address=192.168.10.1
    I setup my SGE2000 so that it's VLAN1 was at IP address=192.168.10.254
    The link below is a recording lasting 11 minutes showing me configuring the SGE2000 almost from scratch.
    It should be pretty much  identical to the configuration of the SFE2000.
    There is no VLAN taggging involved in my configuration, all ports are in 'access' mode.  If you wish to understand those modes press the help key on the switch  when to get to the VLAN > interface tab.

  • Integration Directory - how to terminate all logons?

    I was importing RFC definitions from R/3 in ID. Laptop battery went down and got disconnected with SAP XI,IB.
    After 5 mins, restarted laptop (powered by wire). Opened same SWCV in Integration Directory to change the connection data to point R3 system instead of XI SAP. It gives message "Object SWCV myswcv is currently being edited by user myIDuserid"
    This is what I did sofar, but no luck
    -logon to XI system, transaction SM04. Terrminate all connections with SAP XI.
    Please advise how to terminate all logons in Integration directory? Thanks

    in this case we don't have enough budget t get WLC device....mybe use the autonomous ap....i use the linksys wireless routes as AP that connect to switch and create the VLANs 10 and VLANs 20 in the switch 2960, the switch connect to router 1841 that will ensure vlan connect each other.

    Hi Saikat,
    AUX has the same authentication method as we have on the system.  From this perspective, AUX is protected the same way as the Console port and only those who have an account can login via AUX (same way as via console). Any attempts to log on AUX will be logged:
    Successful:
    ksh[65902]: Successfully authenticated user 'XXX' for ksh access via 'aux' on '0/RSP0/CPU0'
    Incorrect:
    ksh[65902]: Failed authentication attempt by user 'YYY' for ksh access via 'aux' on '0/RSP0/CPU0
    But if anyone has a physical access to the device, that would be even bigger threat compare to system protected AUX login.
    BTW, tacacs authentication should work for AUX too. We’d need to define a template for it.
    Example:
    aaa authentication login tacacs_template group tacacs+ local
    line template aux
          login authentication tacacs_template

    Just though of sharing the alternate way to do this work, instead of DELETE use CHANGE option.
    1. Execute transaction SM37 for the program "RMMRP000" and Job name what you have specified with job status "Scheduled" check box activated. Job Overivew screen appears
    2. Now select the job in the Job Overivew screen and use Menu bar: Job--->Change or Ctrl+F11. Change Job Screen appears
    3. In the change Job screen Hit the function button Start Condition (Green Flag). Start time screen appears.
    4. In the Start time screen define your Job schedule and save the time parameters and save change job screen. Now your job is scheduled with new parameters what you have entered.

    Hi Gerald,
    If the status indicates that tp is still running, there may be several reasons:
    --> TP is processing a request with a large data volume.
    --> An error has occurred. In this case, you can find further information in tp system log.
    --> TP was terminated with operating system tools. Therefore, check if the tp process with the process ID displayed is still running.
    The Import Monitor displays all tp processes that terminated or have not yet been completed.
    To start the Import Monitor:
    Call Tcode: STMS.
    Choose Transport button. The import overview appears.
    Position the cursor on the SAP System for which you want to start the import. If you do not select a system, the monitor automatically displays all systems in the domain.
    If you only want to display a particular group of systems, choose Extras --> Personal Settings and enter the systems under System list.
    Choose Goto --> Import monitor.
    To update the display, choose Refresh button.
    You can use the context menu to delete individual entries, display import details and their transport steps, and go to the import history.
