flash remoting is built-in in CF7, and unless you need to
enable
integration of webs services, you do not need to change
anything
to test if fr is enabled, just go to
http://localhost/flashservices/gateway
- if you see a blank page in
response you are good to go
you will obviously need MM/Adobe Flash to make flash movies
that
get/post data with remoting... keep in mind, though, that
flash
remoting components were included with Flash only up to ver 8
(Flash CS3
does not have them at all, since it uses a different approach
altogether; though you can still make it work with components
for
previous flash versions, it is a bit of a PIA...)
i am sure others will add a lot to this (i am just a casual
flash
remoting coder/user - it is not my sharpest knife...)
a few websites that helped me get going were:

  • How to test if remote R/3 system (Receiver) is down in case of Async RFC ?

    Hi Experts,
       How to test if remote R/3 system (Receiver) is down in case of Async RFC call? There is no BPM as well. I have configured an alert category and created a rule in runtime workbench's Alert Configuration for the specific inbound interface.
       I have tried by stopping the channel and also by changing the server name in the communication channel but all in vail. XI still shows message successfully processed.
      Kindly help me
    Thanks

    Hi,
    How to test system down in XI? Kindly help!
    Have answered here as well.
    Meanwhile, you would have an error in the receiver RFC adapter in Comm Channel Monitoring.
    Maybe you change another RFC adapter rather than the one being used in the receiver agreement.

  • How to debug flash remoting?

    Hi I am using -  flashremoting.jar 1.0.52502 on tomcat.
    I have a 3 year old application that is running on 1 server, it works fine there, the flash client can connect to the java tomcat server and call methods and all is well.
    We are trying to stand this application up on another server, and I cant get the flash remoting to work, the server side java methods never get called (I added logging to them).
    In the adobe troubleshooting it says to go to /gateway and you should get a blank page.
    The weird thing is on both the server that works and the server that doesnt work, if I go there in a browser I get:
    HTTP Status 404 - /flashservices/index.html
    This is the same for both servers. So im not sure what to try next. Im not an expert in flash my flash guy says the client gets:  "Error opening URL"
    The url in the flashvars looks good, the flashgateway.jar file is in the web-inf/lib folder , the frconfig.txt is in web-inf/classes
    my web.xml has this:
    <servlet>
            <servlet-name>FlashGatewayServlet</servlet-name>
            <display-name>Flash Remoting Servlet</display-name>
            <description>
                Servlet-based plugin to Flash Remoting
            </description>
            <servlet-class>
                flashgateway.controller.GatewayServlet
            </servlet-class>
            <load-on-startup>10</load-on-startup>
        </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
            <servlet-name>FlashGatewayServlet</servlet-name>
            <url-pattern>/gateway</url-pattern>
        </servlet-mapping>
    what can I check next, how can I troubleshoot this and figure out if its a client problem or a server problem, or somewhere in the middle?
    thanks

    I got on line with tech support to get them to show me how to use it. The guy hardly knew anything about it himself. From the coldfusion group and was the guy who was supposed to know. I screen shared with him and every time we tried debugging from flex it would just stop. Seems that if something goes wrong in a coldfusion library, the debugger just stops and so it is something upsteam of your break point. Of course there is nothing to show you that, but it became clear. The guy didn't have any better idea than I did what was going on. I figured that out.
    If you check the docs about CF and flex, their recommendation is write it all as a CF app. debug it and then hook flex to it. Pure garbage. Anybody hear of DRY. I have dumped ever using CF on the back end. It is not an oop language. It is a tag based language for markup pages with quasi script and its ORM is so inflexible its a joke.
    Went back to ruby on rails and rubyamf for my backend to flex apps (with Mate as MVC framework) and I could not be happier. Never had such an unpleasant develpment experience than working with Coldfusion as the backend to a flex app. Good luck.

  • Test of Flash Remoting failed

    I have ColdFusion Developer edition installed. I tried to
    test Flash Remoting by trying the following URLs:
    http://localhost:8500/flashservices/gateway
    and
    http://localhost:8500/flashservices/gateway
    and both of them produce "Web page not found" message. Does Flash
    Remoting should be automatically installed with ColdFusion?
    I attempt to reinstall ColdFusion 7.Do I need the latest
    version or some updates? Is it possible to install Flash Remoting
    separately to work with ColdFusion, if it's not found on my
    computer?

    Hi Luba2,
    now, when having access the address of gateway of the
    Remoting Flash for browser more does not return a blank page as in
    version MX 6, but it is redirected for
    http://servidor/flashservices,
    that returns:
    404 /flashservices/
    /flashservices/
    In this point, an entrance in the archive of log is created
    flash.log:
    "[Flash Remoting MX]->Request received was not Flash-based
    (not of the binary AMF protocol)."

  • How to set synchronise to test or remote server

    I can't see which remote server will be synchronised in CS3.
    I have set up a site with a test and remote server.
    Local files are held locally, the test server is inhouse on an apache server, and the remote server is the actual webspace account.
    I can synchronise the local files to either the test or remote server, but its not clear which remote is currently set for the synchronisation. The way I;ve found so far is to select the remote or test view on the dropdown, and whichever was the last selected will synchronise with the local files. This will eventually lead to a wrong update!
    Is there a way to set or see which remote will be used to synchronise?
    Thanks
    LenW

    It is true that this is VERY badly documented, if at all.
    To summarize what many want to do (and for good reason):
    1) Developers PC. Running Dreamweaver and has the local site defined on it. No database, no server.
    2) Testing PC/Server. Running web and database servers on the local network. Typically Apache, MySQL and PHP
    3) Production Server. Out on the net somewhere.
    After this is all set up, here are the problems that one encounters:
    - When editing "normal" HTML it is fine. You edit, click test, and it saves and copies it to the test server and displays it. When done, do a "put" or "sync" and it goes to your remote site.
    - If you are editing some PHP or CSS that is not directly in the HTML page, you are screwed. Hit test, and it saves and displays your HTML page, but your new PHP or CSS code is STILL ON YOUR LOCAL MACHINE ONLY!
    - If you are constantly fine tuning PHP or CSS code, you might as well just keep a file manager window open and manually copy things around. DW just seems unable to do it.
    Of course if you want to put everything on your development PC (LAMP, XAMPP whatever), you don't hit these problems. But who wants all that crap running on your day to day machine? The testing server is a much more professional setup. And it gives you yet another free backup of your stuff. Trash an important HTML file? Just pull it back from testing server. No need to dig through backups.
    You can really never be sure what DW is going to synchronize. I only use it to PUT things to the remote production server, which seems to normally work fine. How to best keep the testing server in sync with your PC is not clear at all.
    I've seen a few suggestions, but Adobe really needs to document how to run DW in a professional fashion, not like a toy tool!

  • How to test Stage3D Direct Hardware mode in Flash CS6 ctrl+enter?

    Hi,
    During testing Flash CS6 Ctrl+Enter mode FP launched with software render mode. How to change it automatically to hardware instead?

    Note well, that if you upgrade the playerglobal.swc, FlashPlayer.exe and FlashPlayerDebug.exe For Flash CS6 (and 5 I believe) it does NOT change the player that Flash uses to "test" with (i.e. CTRL+Enter).  The debug Player will be updated though (i.e. CTRL+Shift+Enter).
    I updated to FP 11.9 but CTRL+Enter still uses 11.4 as is revealed by tracing "Capabilities.version".
    - CTRL+Enter         -> 11.4
    - CTRL+Shift+Enter   -> 11.9
    - double click SWF   -> 11.9
    - in Firefox browser -> 11.9
    As long as I use the Debug player  (i.e. CTRL+Shift+Enter) or choose Publish from the file menu the code is OK both in the stand alone Player when you double click a SWF, and in a browser.
    I have looked for the hidden Flash player all over (registry and the hdd) i think it is hidden in the Flash application somewhere.

  • How to execute Coded UI automated test case remotely without installing Visual studio?

    We are using visual studio 2013 premium. my object is to run the Coded ui automated test case remotely without installing visual studio. can you guide me how to approach it successfully ?
    Thanks in Advance..

    Hi Divakar,
    According to your description,
    as far as I know that if we want to run the automation test remotely without vs using mstest, we will need to install and configure the test controller and the test agent machine.
    Please refer to the following steps configure the test controller on locally machine and install a test agent on the remotely machine.
    Note: If you an
    automation test on locally machine, we must make sure the test agent be installed on remotely
    machine.
    Step1: you can try to
    configure test controller and agent, for more information:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh546459.aspx
    Step2: you will need to
    assign roles to a Test Controller and Test Agent for Automated Testing in Visual Studio, please see:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff469838.aspx
    Note: you will need to add a testsetting file before you assign roles to a Test Controller and Test Agent for Automated
    Testing in Visual Studio.
    Reference:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee256991.aspx
    Step3: After you configure and install the test controller and test agent successfully, we can
    executed coded UI test remotely using  mstest.exe on test agent machine, we would call the testsetting file in command line.
    Reference:
    How
    to use MSTest.exe command-line options
    In addition, I find an article about

  • How to check progress of loaded content with Flash Remoting?

    Is there a way to monitor the loading progress (percent progress bar  style) when using Flex/Flash Remoting?
    Thanks!
    Enrique.

    Hi,
    Use 2 FileStream objects in async mode (openAsync). One to
    read and another to write. When you read in async mode, you get
    progress events. When they fire, you can read bytesAvailable
    amounts of data and write that to the output filestream.
    The output filestream can listen for output_progress events
    to ensure that new data can be written to it or not.

  • How to Test AIR 1.5

    Sorry if this seems slightly off center, but I blame Adobe, not myself. Trying to determine the true status and positioning of AIR amongst the various Flex forums and projects for an outsider is practically impossible. So, I will be brief. In September Mr. Chambers sent opened the flow by telling us that we could find FP10 integrated with Flex SDK in something you call 1.5 or Cosmo, or both. He was properly circumspect, so I didn't rush into it -- there was not even an ADL binary when I checked. Now it is November, the Trunk is at 4005, and ostensibly, everything we need to start trying to take advantage of FP support of 3D operations is out there. But where? Where do we get a version of AIR 1.5 that can be installed on a target desktop, so that we can try to run the ADT test cycle?
    Call it Gumbo, call it Flex4, call it whatever, but can someone tell us how to start testing it for AIR application deployment?
    Thank you.

  • Flash Remoting Connector

    hi there...
    how to made some Flash Remoting Connector? because i'd like
    to made some application with flash, when the SWF cannot connect to
    server, they will be execute error MovieClip like
    http://www.terminator3.com/
    thanks!

    I have attached the actionscript for the data connection. The
    odd thing about this issue is some of the data is being displayed
    from the webservice call and then some is not. The drop down list
    is not being populated but I am getting some text in a textarea
    that is on the form. My datasource is a SQL Server database and in
    ColdFusion administrator, I used the actual machine name to point
    to the datasource because it is directly linked to my web server.
    This configuration is the one giving me problems. If I change the
    datasource to my test SQL Server (server.somewhere.com) it works
    fine. Does this help any?

  • How to put Flash video game onto inDesign PDF file and Website page or link?!

    I am making a video game using Adobe Flash 2.0. I need to be able to show what I have through a website (my portfolio) and/or insert it into an interactive Indesign PDF file. The game needs to be able to be played and be used and tested by whoever I send the pdf file to, or whoever is would be view my the site I post it on. I have attempted many different ways to put my game onto my website (cargocollective) and Indesign, but nothing is working! I need help.
    For example I need my game to be placed on the website page, and on the pdf document as an image. When it is clicked on I need it to start so people can play the game. I don't know how to do this and I would really love and need to know how! Thanks.

    Flash should be able to publish an html page which will provide the web page code needed for embedding the swf.  The page it publishes should be sufficient for planting on a server unless you plan to dress it up with other content as well.
    As far as incorporating Flash content into a PDF using InDesign goes, you are best to ask questions about using InDesign in the InDesign forum.  Here is a link to the Overview page whee you can pick which forum applies best to your situation:

  • Flash Remote Debugger Help

    Yesterday, my Flash CS3 AS2 remote debugging stopped working
    after I installed a number of Adobe updates and on Mac OS X (Intel)
    update. Before I installed the updates, I was able to debug any SWF
    loaded in my browser window with the CS3 debug interface and output
    window. After I rebooted, all of my browsers stopped sending my the
    prompt to connect to a local host or enter an IP. Also, "debug" is
    no longer an option in the drop down menu when I right click on the
    swf in the browser window. Flash remote debugging is marked
    properly in the FLA publish settings and a new SWD is being
    published every time I test. But the player doesn't attempt to
    connect at all! I don't know if the loss of this functionality is
    related to the updates but it does seem that way.
    Any help, please?!
    Thanks,
    Steven

    Problem solved. After the update, I needed to get the newest
    version of the Adobe Debug Player for Intel Macs.

  • How to Test Mail's Trainable Filter?

    In the Apple Support Discussions topic No Junk mailbox in Training mode? a question arose regarding how to test if the trainable filter (the filter that evaluates the "Message is Junk Mail" condition) is evaluated independently of the other conditional tests of the Junk Filter rule -- IOW, if some other test condition in the Junk Filter rule, like sender is not in the address book, evaluates to false, does the "Message is Junk Mail" test which follows it in the rule's list of conditions ever get evaluated?
    A proposed test for this involved resending to yourself a message that Mail had previously marked as junk using the "Message > Send Again" function of Mail. It has been pointed out to me that this probably isn't a valid test because "Message > Send Again" doesn't send the original message in unaltered form (there are substantial changes in the header info regarding sender, path, etc.) & thus the filter may not consider the resent message as junk, even if it were to evaluate it.
    So, for testing purposes, does anybody have a suggestion about how to resend (or fake resending) a received message to myself without altering its header info?

    What matters is whether the Message is Junk
    Mail condition would still evaluate to true
    regardless.
    That depends on what you are trying to determine & if the test produces decisive results.
    For instance, consider tests with the standard Junk Filter automatic settings & no other rule involving "Message is Junk Mail" in the list. A test is performed in an attempt to determine if the filter's conditional tests are performed in the indicated order only until one evaluates to false.
    "Send Again" should not cause the "Message is Junk Mail" test to be evaluated at all, since in this case the sender is oneself & the Junk Filter should exit as soon as the 'sender not in Address Book' test is evaluated.
    Yet, when I try this with a message (correctly) marked as junk when originally received, the resent version is still marked as junk, & this happens not just on my on Mac but on the few others I have checked as well. I have tested with only a limited number of junk messages because on the other Macs the owners do not keep them for long & on my own I do not get that many (AOL is my primary account & has excellent spam filtering), so I would love to know if readers of this topic see similar results.
    BTW, I should mention here what might be a potential hazard of using "Redirect" for testing with "real" spam: As I hope everybody knows by now, it is a bad idea to enable automatic loading of remote html images because doing so can alert spammers one's email address is valid. In one case, when I tried the "Redirect" method on my own Mac, AOL refused to accept the redirected message, possibly because of AOL's spam filters. At that point, Mail displayed the message, asking if I wanted to try sending it from another account, edit it, or what. Even though I have the option disabled, Mail loaded the original's remote html images along with its other content. I don't know if that is a design feature of Mail, a problem with just my Mac, particular to AOL, or what, but I want readers to be aware of it, just in case.
    Anyway, for this reason I have since confined myself to testing with "Send Again," which seems safe in all cases, & mostly to testing only on my on Mac, just in case it is not.
    Back to the "so what" aspects of this topic: It may be that the "Message is Junk Mail" test is sometimes treated differently from the other conditional tests in the Junk Filter in that it may be evaluated first or even if other tests before it evaluate to false. This makes some sense as a design feature in that even if the Junk Filter's automatic mode action isn't performed, it gives users more training opportunities. It may be a bug. It may just be something particular to my Mac. It may be something else, perhaps having to do with trusting junk headers, or something more subtle as yet unconsidered.
    In any event, the point is holding all variables save one constant in any single "black box" test of a multi-variable system is a necessity for definitive results because variables may be interdependent. Because of this, the ability to resend to oneself the same message in unaltered form would be useful for a variety of tests, so I would still like to know if anyone has any ideas about how to do this.

  • Flash Remoting not working in CF 10

    We've been using Flash Remoting for years and now, while testing CF 10 on a development server, find that it no longer works.
    In particular, I get a 404 error when trying to access https://{ip address}/flashservices/gateway.
    I've already confirmed that remoting is enabled in the Administrator and followed the steps given in the documentation (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/10.0/Installing/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cdec1896 9-7ffa.html).
    Any advice?

    If you don't want to change your as-files:
    JkMountFile
    "[Path to CF-Installation]/config/wsconfig/1/uriworkermap.properties"
    change
    /flashservices/gateway/* = cfusion
    to
    /flashservices/gateway = cfusion
    restart CF

    How to test the connection between DSD Backend and DSD connector ??

    Hi Viren,
    The problem is:
    We have a new BW system. The basis people asked me to check the connection between this BW system and the R/3. There is only one client for now(100). I have logged into 100 and tried executing RSA1 to check the connection, but it gave a message box saying "You can only work in Client 000". Then I have treid logging into 000(just to make sure) and tried executing RSA1. Even here I got a message saying "The SAP BW system must not be operated in client 000". Now, I am not sure of what is wrong in clien 100. I am not sure if I have to do some settings before I access RSA1 or any other BW transaction. Could you please help me in this.
    Also, I just checked the RFC destinations in BW. There is a destination created for our R/3 and I have noticed that they have given a remote UserID and password for remote login. I tried to check the Remote UserID in SU01 but there is no userID with that name. Could this be a problem?
    Thanks,
    RPK.
