How to test Motherboard integrity

Hello, I have an on-going problem with my G4 Giga... it keeps freezing, when it started it would do it every few days but now its down to every 10 mins or so.
I have swapped HD for a known stable one.
I have removed all PCI cards.
I have removed all RAM except for a tested Kingston 512mb.
I have replaced the PRAM battery which was flat.
I have reset the CMU and PRAM.
The OEM Rage card is driving the CTX Pro monitor.
I have used Apple Hardware Test disk and the times it made it to the end without freezing it reported everything was fine.
I can only conclude that it is the motherboard that is at fault...
(A) How does one test a motherboard?
(B) Can I upgrade the Motherboard say to a Digital Audio?
(B) Are there any web links on this topic?

I'm not sure whether it's possible for the power supply to start fluctuating before failing entirely, but I guess that could be another possibility, especially given it's age and all the upgrades that were originally installed.
I expect using a digital audio logic board wouldn't be easy as the port alignments on the back could well be different plus they also have an additional PCI slot (4 rather than 3). I seem to remember seeing a link before where someone used a digital audio logic board in a Sawtooth/Gigabit Ethernet model by replacing the entire right hand side of the computer (logic board, the metal plate underneath and the door itself), effectively everything to the right hand side of the case hinge. This seems to imply a simple logic board swap isn't possible.

  • How to test the integrated configuration?

    Hi Guys,
I have created a integrated scenarion and i want to know how can we test it from the RWB.  I am getting the errors when i post the payload from the test tab to the adapter engine.
    Thanks,
    Srini

    Hi Srinivas,
Integrated scenario can be run only for those adapters which lies on the adapter engine. This can be tested from end to end using sender channel onlybecause in RWB testing, u cant test it using the test tab of integration engine because that is used to put the message on the pipeline entry URL. But in case of integrated scenario , the message processing happens in the Advance adapter engine. The message doesnt pass from the Integration engine and So the message which are executed as integrated scenario are not available in the SXMB_MONI also.
This is a feature in PI 7.1. This enhance the performance and all the steps i.e
    1) Receiver determinatiom
    2) Interface determination
    3) Sender agreement
    4) receiver agreement
are present under a single object (Intrgrated scenario) which is cached in the adapter engine cache.
Hope this clear the Integrated scenario concept.
    Thanks
    Ajay

  • How to test a plug_in without Adobe Reader Integration Key?

I havge a project to create a plug_in for acrobat reader with Adobe Acrobat 8.1 SDK. I also apply for the Adobe Reader Integration Key, but I have not it by now. But deadline of the project is coming, is there any one who can tell me how to test the plug_in without Adobe Reader Integration Key?
I also have another question, does the plug_in I make with Adobe Acrobat 8.1 SDK can be compatible for all the version of Acrobat reader, such as 7.0, 8.0 and so on? Thank you.

You test the plug-in, as well you can, using Acrobat. You also build
it using the preprocessor options to build a Reader plug-in, so you
don't accidentally use an API not in Reader.
If you are saying, is there w way around the Integration key for
testing in Reader, the answer is no.
Different Reader keys and tools are needed for each version of Reader.
You will probably not get a key for an old version of Reader.

  • How to test integrated configuration?

    Hi,
I've set up an Integrated Configuration.(ICO)
I know i cannot test from Tools >> Test Configuration
I'm testing from RWB, i suppose i have to put my xml using the adapter engine test message option instead of the integration engine test option. You think that is correct?
Whatever i do i still get an error message saying there is no receiver determination for the given business component and interface. I thought for ICO you dont need Receiver Determination? Am i wrong?
Are there other/better ways to test this ICO?
    Thx
    Robert

    Hi,
Small recap of the issue: i want to test an Integrated Configuration from the RWB.
My scenario is File to SOAP (synchronous)
All cache refreshes both in SXI_Cache and CPA cache were good.
If i test from RWB >> INtegration Engine >> Test Message then i get the following return:
"....  Error While Sending Message: Error stack from response: No receiver could be determined...."
(this response is understandable: ICO is not on the IE and the combination of Sender Component/INterface/Namespace will not be found there, so we get an error)
    But...
If I test from RWB >> Adapter Engine >> Test Message with these details:
Sender Component = Sender Comm Component from ICO
Interface = Sender Interface from ICO
Namespace = Sender Namespace from ICO
    User/Passw are good
    QoS: Best Effort
    XML = good
then i get the following result:
"....Error While Sending Message: Additional error text from response: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.ConfigException: ConfigException in XI protocol handler. Failed to determine a receiver agreement for the given message. Root cause: com.sap.aii.af.service.cpa.CPAObjectNotFoundException: Couldn't retrieve outbound binding for the given P/S/A values: FP=;TP=;FS=TEST_ICO;TS=;AN=SIOS_ICO_ReadCustomer;ANS=urn:vitens:isu:installation:create; in the current context [Unknown]. ......"
    receiver agreement?
So i wonder if it is possible at all to test the ICO from the RWB?
    Any comments are helpful.
Also i'm wondering if there could be installation settings wrong for AAE (we're on PI 7.11)
Or maybe there are settings in the Service Interface i should do differently?
    Kr

  • Unit testing or integration testing?

Here it says that this example is more of an explanation of framework than best practice because of the conflation of integration/unit testing concepts: http://docs.flexunit.org/index.php?title=Using_Asynchronous_Startup
My question is, how do you define a line here between unit testing and integration testing? What kind of UI components asynchronous tests are then considered to be unit tests and not yet integration tests? Many books recommend having 100% code coverage with unit tests. How would this example look like, to be considered only a unit test and not integration test?

The question about which levels of testing to do are really dependent upon you. Let me explain a bit more.
If you are building an application, and only an application, then functional testing probably covers most of your needs. In an application environment, you have a relatively narrow pathway of options and interactions that a user might follow. So long as you test those options well, your app will probably work as well.
Where I see the real value of unit testing is testing for the unknowns. If you have a class that will be used in multiple applications in multiple ways, or perhaps it is intended to be a reusable class where others in your organization will use it in the future, then you want lower level testing. You want to have the best coverage you can because you want to know that, regardless of the way someone chooses to use the code, it will likely function or at least fail gracefully.
The same is true for integration. If I am creating a Flex component, then I can unit test part of it, but not all. So, I want to use integration tests to ensure that it works in as many circumstance as possible. Further, Flex components have a life cycle, so testing them when they are not on the display list isn't really a valid test..
So, to summarize, I see unit and integration w/Flex about testing possibilities and trying to achieve realistic code coverage for known and possible use cases. I see functional testing as testing those components in very specific use cases.
Which do you need? Depends. Are you developing reusable components across (n) projects, likely the first 2 and maybe the last. Are you an application developer testing that an application works in documented business cases? Just functional will likely work.
    Hope that helps,
    Mike

  • How to test the payload in XI

    Hi all,
could please explain how to test the payload in xi and with steps.
    Thanks in advance,
    Radhika

    Hi Radhika,
You can test in three ways.
1.)  In message mapping directly give the relevant data and then execute.  Here you can test whether the mapping is correct or not.
2.)  In Integrstion Directory after completing and activating  the Configuration,  in tool you can find the Test Configuration tab. There you can give the sender and receiver details along with payload. Here you can test whether the Configuration is correct or not.
3.)  In RWB in COmponent monitoring.  Select the Integration Engine Monitoring. Here give the sender and receiver details, Interface name, name space, Quality of service.
Now give user name and pass word.
Paste the payload from massage mapping and then press test tab.  Here yoyu can directly send the message from XI server to the receiver system.
    Ok,
    Jeevan

  • How to test the interfaces in XI ?

    Hi ,
Our Xi system is being upgraded from 3.0 to 7.0. I was asked to test the interfaces once the upgradation is done. I am not sure how this testing is to be done and will there be aby test plan for this??
Can some one help me on this ??
    Thanks in Advance,
    Hemanthika

To test, you must have imported all your scenarios in to your new system.then couple of general tips,
1.testing can be done only after understanding the scenario.
For this, u refer to the integration scenario in ur design. so this shall give u an idea about all the systems involved in integration and how the data flowing is between them and what kind of systems they are?
    2. For testdata, you might need of business or functional team as you cannot have any info on the file formats etc(depending on different scenarios invloved like R3, SOAP Databse etc)
these are only general tips. but u can refer to many of the trouble shooting guides already available blogs in sdn for any sought of inputs. But then, SDN is always there.
you can test/monitor ur results in RWB->component monitoring
    also in sxmb_moni
    thanks

  • How to test a webservice scenario...

    Hi,
In SAP PI, I need to test a scenario that involves webservice. I can see in Integration directory
that a communication channel has been defined as sender with adapter type as File. So I assume that a file is being picked up
    from the FTP server.
Also There is another comm channel of type receiver, adapter type as SOAP with a target URL.
Now I dont know how to test this ? Any pointers how to check
from where this request to webservice is initiated ? I have not worked
on web service scenario before, so need help to understand to test the end to end.
    thanks

    HI
Your's is a file to  SOAP scenario, to test this follow this steps:
Now I dont know how to test this ? Any pointers how to check
from where this request to webservice is initiated ?
    1. Do you have test data? any file that is archived in sender FTP under archive directory. If not then go to your
mapping progrram->test tab-> fill test data (all mandatory fields)->switch to xml tab- Copy the whole content
->save it in a text pad->see the file name maitained in the sender file adapter->rename the file and place in
the location mentioned in the sender FTP.
    2. Check  in RWB if the channels is active and you can see the  file being picked in the log ,you can see SXMB MONI
also if there is checkerd flag.
    3. To see if the soap posing has happened or not you can see the soap channel monitoring in RWB  and read the log
or you can confirm the posting with the  team which received the data( portal /Webservice).

  • How to test Process chain in BW

    Hi Guys,
Can U give me some introduction to Process chains and how to test it in BW 3.5
    Thanks for Ur time.
    Cheers
    Senthil

    Hi,
A process chain is a defined sequence of interdependent processes required to perform acomplex task in an SAPBW environment. Data maintenance tasks in SAPBW are notrestricted to uploading data. Aggregate rollups, index maintenance, master data and ODS activation, and a variety of other jobs are required to update data, guarantee best-possible performance, and maintain data integrity. Typical SAPBW implementa-tions have complex interdependent networks of jobs in place that run every night, week,or month.Previous releases of SAPBW did not provide an integrated solution for scheduling and monitoring those kinds of job networks. This has changed with the introduction of process chains in release 3.0. Process chains allow you to define complex job networks consisting of standard SAPBW jobs, as well as custom jobs; they support visualizing the job network and centrally controlling and monitoring the processes.

    Testing
We need to test the PC chains.
You need to test if the extractions are working fine, data is getting loaded into targets, post load activities like activation, rollup, compression etc are successfull etc.
We schedule / trigger the chains and monitor them. We ensure that all the process types are happening successfully.
One major area we concentrate on is to identify dependcies in the chain. This will ensure less erros and also reduce chain timings by a great extend. Dependencies should be kept to a minimum whereever possible.
Also in cases where we use events/third party shceduling tools to trigger BW chains we check that out.
    Thanks,

    Rakesh

    Hi Rakesh,
    +1.How to test xi projects?
2.then how to test our scenario? Is there any testing tool is available to test the scenario?+
XI is about messaging. So the way to test an XI implementation would be to test the messaging. Two options for doing that...
    1. Test the implementation without the Application systems. The plain J2SE adapter really comes in handy here. You can use it to send an XML file to the Integration Server, check whether it is getting through the pipeline as intended (which means the routing, the mappings, etc), and let it pop out to a file somewhere. You can check all the steps the message has gone through from the XML monitor (sxmb_moni).
    2. Test the actual implementation with the application systems. For this you would use the testing tools of the application itself.
I do not know of any automated tools for testing XI configuration, or any way of testing it without actually sending a message across.
What is CCMS? how it is useful in XI ?</b>
I can give you some info regarding CCMS, but the rest will try finding out and let you know soon. Mean while pls go through this info on CCMS.
When CCMS is not configured you can only do individual monitoring.
To configure the same you must decide which system is to be the central system for the SCR.
To know what SCR is and to know more about it please go through this link.
    https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/1e/ec9e38f0d92936e10000009b38f8cf/content.htm
After doing the same please follow these steps.
Log on to the system that is to contain the central repository.
    - Choose CCMS ® Configuration ® Alert Monitor, or call transaction RZ21.
    - Choose Technical Infrastructure ® System Repository ® Set Repository Role.
    - The system displays the Set Repository Role in Central System Administration screen. Choose Central Repository.
And also go through the following links. This I guess will help you solve your problem and I guess it answers your question.

  • How to test an scenario

    Hi,
After completing a scenario(eg:file to filr),how to test it...whether it is working fine or not..
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
In order to test you file to file scenario,
First test whether your mapping is working fine in the integration repository(Design) by going into your message mapping test tab, then provide the necessary values there and test it.
If it is correct it will display the output, if not it will throw some errors.
Next to test the interface with configuration go to test configuration in Integration directory and provide the necessary values of sender and receiver details along with payload and test it.
To do an end to end testing, you need to place the input file in the source directory.
For the input file, go to message mapping and go to test tab and provide the details and select the src(xml) file and place it in source directory along with the file name and extension you have provided in the integration directory sender communication channel.
If the file is not picked up the goto RWB and check the communication channel monitoring for your sender channel.
If file is picked and it has error it will display when you enter the tcode sxmb_moni.
If file is processed successfully and file has not reached target directory then check your receiver cc in rwb.
I hope it clears your query.
