How to timeout URL HTTP Get Document.vi

I'm using URL HTTP Get Document.vi to read a file. But sometimes the other machine were is the url is down so the application freezes for a long time because is stucked in URL HTTP Get Document.vi
How can I force that this Vi stops if cannot complete in some time?

You would have to modify the VI to allow you to pass in a timeout value. The defult is 25 seconds. If you decide to modify the VI I recommend you make a copy of all of the HTTP VIs, place them in your user directory (or some other suitable place) and modify those VIs. Use those in place of the shipping VIs.

  • How to do a Http get in the background where user access the web app

    I want to touch a listener page in non - j2ee based application 1 (say A1 which is ColdFusion) from a j2ee based application 2 ( say A2). The exact functionality would be : A struts based application's A2 web page would send a session id to a listener webpage in A1. How would i achieve this, as i just need to pass some information in Background and not transfer the control to application A1 where as user is performing normal course of actions in foreground? I can think of Socket programming, any other approach that you can think better than this?
    So, I need to pass information to a page out of my web application scope yet keep the control within the web application?

    This is the snippet I am trying in my "action". Assuming that, the program in A1 reads the request parameters and sends me a response. Would this be enough or am i missing something?

  • Online college, open document, how to find URL associated with document

    I am currently enrolled in an online college.  For APA formatting, we are supposed to find the URL associated with an online document.  For example:  on the college website I click on a link that takes me to the open/save box.  I open the file, at the top of the page is the name: sn_2010_writing_scholarly_voice-1.  On a PC we are supposed to cut/paste that into our web browser to come up with the URL.  I'm not seeing how to do this on a MAC.

    Here's a code snipet with null checks removed:
    UID MyClassName::GetFrameForXMLElement(IIDXMLElement* inXMLElement)
        InterfacePtr< ITextModel > textModel( Utils< IXMLUtils >()->QueryTextModel( inXMLElement ) );
        InterfacePtr< IFrameList > frameList( textModel->QueryFrameList() );
        UID aFrameUID = frameList->GetNthFrameUID( 0 );
        return aFrameUID;

    A "good" serach engine for example dosen't take in cosideration HTTP POST Links.
    I hope that someone tell me how generate using JSF HTTP GET links for navigation.
    Bye

    Balusc, thanks for you help.
    The blog is very good!
    I make help classe (FacesUtils) who you show in blog, but not find the property on request context map, but I use the param variable on faces-config.xml and Request Managed Bean and all work fine.
    thanks.
    I'm wrong where I think the Request Managed Bean is create for each request on all pages, the Request Managed Bean is create only on requeste page reference its.
    Parte of my faces-config where I put the Request Managed Bean:
    <managed-bean>
              <managed-bean-name>uuidParamManager</managed-bean-name>
              <managed-bean-class>
                   br.srv.full.virtual.managers.request.UUIDParamManager

  • How to get the url of the document in quick parts?

    I have document library in which there is one content type with the document template uploaded. In the footer of the document, I want to show the URL of the document which is opened in word application.
    Is there any way to get the URL? I am not able to see the field in Quick Parts while configuring footer of document template.

    Alexdu_,
    You can create a single line text site column in that content type to hold URL information.
    Create a SPD workflow to populate URL field using update field of current list.
    This custom column will be available as Quick part in word.
    This could be an alternate approach as URL is not available as quick part field.

  • Sharepoint Workflow : how to get document full path + file name into variable?

    Hi,
    Anybody knows how to get document full path + file name into a variable in Sharepoint 2010 workflow?
    Example http://sp1:80/InvoiceQueue/Shared Documents/123.pdf
    I am using List Workflow which links to a document library.

    Hi SAMSUNG,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to get the full path of a document in a list workflow.
    You can set the variable to the Enconded Absolute URL of the document. The screenshot is my testing. In my testing (in the red area), when the title of a document was equal to the tile of the current item, set a variable to the Enconded Absolute URL of the
    document. I used ‘Log to history list’ to check the value of the variable in Workflow History .
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • I'm trying to read some XML data from temperature logger over my network. I'm using LabView version 2009 sp1. I'm using the URL Get Document Vi. It works fine when using Internet sites like google or foxnews etc...

    I'm trying to read some XML data from temperature logger over my network.  I'm using LabView version 2009 sp1.  I'm using the URL Get Document Vi.  It works fine when using Internet sites like google or foxnews etc...
    When I use it with my temperature logger most of the time I get an Error 66...but some times it does work and actually retrieves the document.
    I can use the same address "http://172.22.21.68/XMLfeed.rb" (Internet Explorer or Google Chrome) in my browser and get a response every time.  When accessing from my browser the server in the temperature logger does take around 6 seconds to respond, but it does respond every time.
    Is the URL Get Document Vi exceeding a timeout?  If so, where can I set it to wait longer?

    Error 66.jpg ‏183 KB

    It looks like the TCP Buffered Read has a 2.5 sec timeout, I believe that is where I had trouble as well.  Try creating your own URL Get HTTP Doc vi in which you call URL Get Document in normal mode, with an appropriate number of characters to fetch (enough characters so that you capture all the important data in the XML file).

    Thank you.
    AA.

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to you want to get document set property value in a SharePoint library and then export into a CSV file using PowerShell.
    I suggest you can get the document sets properties like the PowerShell Command below:
    [system.reflection.assembly]::loadwithpartialname("microsoft.sharepoint")
    $siteurl="http://sp2013sps/sites/test"
    $listname="Documents"
    $mysite=new-object microsoft.sharepoint.spsite($siteurl)
    $myweb=$mysite.openweb()
    $list=$myweb.lists[$listname]
    foreach($item in $list.items)
    if($item.contenttype.name -eq "Document Set")
    if($item.folder.itemcount -eq 0)
    write-host $item.title
    Then you can use Export-Csv PowerShell Command to export to a CSV file.

  • HT201272 I had Pages and many documents associated with it on my generation 1 ipad. I just got an ipad Air. I downloaded Pages to my new ipad but all my documents are gone. How do I go about getting them back. My old ipad was backed up to my computer.

    I am trying to locate my old documents from my generation 1 ipad. I downloaded Pages to my ipad Air but my documents are gone. I did back up my old ipad to my computer but I didn't restore my back up to the new ipad. I wanted to start fresh. How do I go about getting just my Pages documents from that backup and by the way, how do I access that back up?

    You will need to restore the backup - just downloading the app from the store won't give you its contents from a preivous device, you will need to restore the whole backup onto your new iPad (which will replace its current contents) to get the app's content.

  • How to get documents from SAP KM in java

    Hi Everyone
                    I want to get  the SAP KM data to a simple java class......I am able to get this with servlet but i want not a servlet but a simple java class that can get the Documents stored in SAP KM repository..................
    I am thinking of using any java Driver in some code like
    Class.forName ("com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.DriverSapDB");
                        String url = "http://host name :port";
                        Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection (url, "", "");
                        Statement stmt = con.createStatement ();
                   IUser serviceUser = WPUMFactory.getServiceUserFactory().getServiceUser("cmadmin_service");
                   ResourceContext c = new ResourceContext(serviceUser);
                   IResource r = ResourceFactory.getInstance().getResource(RID.getRID("/documents/Public Documents/"), c);
                   System.out.println("Current user   "+r.getContext().getUser().getDisplayName());
                   System.out.println("Current user  : "+r.getContext().getUser().getDisplayName());
                   System.out.println("Access RID  : "r.getAccessRID().toString()"<br>");
    But the above code is giving an exception---java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver
    Can anyone tell me the suotable Lava driver to access SAP KM repository..Or any simple java code that can connect to SAP KM...
    Waiting for Ur reply
    Thanks & Regards
    Rupesh

    I am not sure why you need a JDBC driver for doing that.. You can get it using the following itself. If you have a DB only repository, the underlying API of KM will make the DB connection for you and get the content.
    Here is what you should be doing
             IUser serviceUser = WPUMFactory.getServiceUserFactory().getServiceUser("cmadmin_service");
             ResourceContext ctx = new ResourceContext(serviceUser );
             RID resRid = RID.getRID("<yourfilepath>");
             IResource resource = ResourceFactory.getInstance().getResource(resRid, ctx);
             //Finally you can read the stream from the resource
             resource.getContent().getInputStream();

  • How do I open a word document from a url?

    We have a document server and I need to open a MSWord document that is a template for LabView to populate (using bookmarks and Connectivity Toolkit).
    I have looked at the URL builder and I can't get that to work.  The Get Document does open the document but it doesn't seam to give the correct path to the Word Get Report so it doesn't give a good link.
    I can open it in the default browser which links to Word but again there isn't any link to feed to Word Get Report.
    Am I even close?
    Thank you,

    Here's a code snippet that should help you:
    It:
    initializes a HTTP session with a username and password,
    generates a random, non-existent filename with a doc extension
    Get's a file on URL to the temporary filename
    Closes the HTTP session
    Starts the Report Generaton Toolkit, with the file from the web as the template

    We try to use the function modules UPC_DOCUMENT_GET and UPC_DOCUMENT_LIST_GET but is not working because is missing parameters.
    Thanks
    Vero

    Veronica,
      I am assuming that you want to know how documents are
      handled in BPS and how you can configure your system to
      do so.
      Here is the "How to" paper that explains this:
