How does one enable client to update a muse website? Thx!

They have two options:
1 - Use In-browser editing  for minor updates
2 - Use Muse for bigger updates
If you can provide a bit more information about your situation we might be able to give a more precise answer.

    I'm in the middle of a large deployment of SCEP (ahem) System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection, and I've come across an interesting question. Is it possible to determine the method the local SCEP client used to obtain it's most recent definitions update?
    The background here is that our clients are set to obtain updates from the SCCM server, and only from the Internet as a last resort after 12 hours of failure. However, during one recent deployment, the local team reported a spike in their Internet traffic
    and believe several hundred SCEP clients updated via the Internet. Is it possible to verify this locally from log files on the computer or some other method?
    This is an issue for some of our locations where Internet bandwidth is at a premium, but we have good internal WAN links.

  • How to reset client Software Update to point to Apple Update Servers?

    Hi folks
    I've been messing around with Leopard Server over the last few months, and as part of that, swupdate server in that as well.
    I made the mistake of pointing my laptop at it, which is Snow Leopard 10.6.0 - only to later find that Leopard 10.5 server can't server 10.6 updates as it doesn't catalog correctly.
    So, I've backed out my changes to the com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist file using defaults.
    The system version (/Library/Preferences) file now reads:
    grolsch:~ wrkadmin$ defaults read /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate
    LastAttemptDate = "2009-11-13 22:19:25 +0000";
    LastResultCode = 100;
    The user version (~/Library/Preferences) reads:
    grolsch:~ wrkadmin$ defaults read com.apple.SoftwareUpdate
    WebKitDefaultFontSize = 11;
    WebKitStandardFont = "Lucida Grande";
    So, I've removed all the references to my attempted swupdate server, by ensuring no references of "CatalogURL" exist in either file.
    I've also quadrouple checked that there's no managed settings enforced from Workgroup Manager as part of Open Directory on the same Leopard server, and there's definitely nothing enabled.
    I've rebooted several times, I've restored the original plist file from before I made the changes to point to my local swupdate server, and I've even deleted the ** com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist file. To no avail.
    Everytime I launch Software Update on my laptop, it's still pointing to the internal server, and it says the local server isn't responding.
    I've done this backout on Leopard (10.5) machines with NO problem, but on Snow Leopard, it appears that the software update server is possibly held somewhere else, but I'm jiggered if I can find it.
    Can anyone point out the schoolboy error that I've missed somewhere please??
    To clarify: 10.5.8 Leopard Server, 10.6.0 Snow Leopard Client

    Make sure you're not bound to any directory server first. In 10.6 this would be accessed via the Accounts Preferences Pane > Login Options > Network Account Server > Join > Remove any LDAP Server entry. For 10.5 you use Directory Utility in /Applications/Utilities. For 10.4 use Directory Access in /Applications/Utilities. Next launch Terminal and issue these commands
    sudo -s
    Provide the local admin password when prompted. If you've not set a password set one in the Account Preferences Pane. You won't see the password being typed in Terminal as there's no echo. Follow this with these commands:
    rm -R -v /Library/Managed\ Preferences
    rm -R -v /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
    reboot now
    On successful reboot and login you should be OK?

    I'm designing her site in Muse, planning to publish to BC. Does she need her own Muse account to be able to make her own changes once the site is published? How would she access a site I designed?

    Guys, this is a problem a lot of us face using Muse.  Muse is great.  It makes creating websites simple and yet creative. 
    Giving your customer the ability to update their own site is simply not an option. 
    One workaround is to embed a third party blog into the website, which they could update at any time.  Embed thier twitter or facebook feed, as you're allowed to post pictures, links and updates.
    If that's not going to cut it, consider using a Wordpress site.
    Wordpress is free, but you are still going to have to give your client a crash course on how to change thier own content. That said, there is no worrying about uploading to server and that kind of stuff.
    Wordpress is CMS friendly.  You create the site, and give them permissions to edit certain sections. 
    It's all about us website desingers having tools.  If one platform doesn't work, you have to be able to come up with another so as not to lose the client.
    Use Muse for everything they offer. When they come up short, go to the next platform.

  • Is there an easy way for a client to update a small part of a muse site?

    I am a Creative Cloud subscriber.
    I've made several small websites in Muse and enjoy using it, more so than Dreamweaver, as I'm not a web expert. I've exported those sites as HTML and published them via my own domain and hosting.
    I've been commissioned to make a website where the client can update a small "latest news" section on the site without my intervention.
    Is there any easy way to do this, short of my client buying a Muse subscription?

    How to update Muse 7.4  to the current version........ Is it possible to update a trial.  I was unable to download
    fro Adobe CC so had to get it from Softpedia.  Version 1.1.6  was available there but it sent to to CC and it doe not work in my Mac....

    First make sure your system meets the new requirements of muse, as given below
    New Minimum System Requirements. Mac OSX 10.7, or later. Internet Explorer 8 or higher, Internet Explorer 11 is highly recommended.
    If you qualify, install Application manager, from the link below
    Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Macintosh : Adobe Application Manager
    Once you have installed the Application manager, you should be able to install Muse CC latest version.

  • How do you configure a client to update from the server

    I found the information on how to point clients to a software update server but the problem I have is the URL.
    The example is http://su.example.com:8088/index.sucatalog
    I don't have a URL as far as I know and if I did, is the default port 8088 or where can I change or check that?
    And where is a list of the catalog file for the specific versions of OS X?
    Basically I have 8 Macs all running Yosemite except for one running 10.8.5. Instead of all the machines hitting the internet for updates, I'd like just my server to down the updates and then all clients update from the server.
    If there is better instructions on how to do this, please point the way.

    Best solution is probably Adobe Contribute. This is a program
    sold by Adobe that allows you as the designer to define the areas
    the client is allowed to change.
    The client then uses Contribute to connect to his site and
    makes the changes. These changes are uploaded - but they adhere to
    your style.
    Advantages:
    - your style is maintained
    - easy solution
    Disadvantage:
    - cost of the program to your client
    - learning curve for your client
    Alternatively, build your site around a Content Management
    System. There are several good ones available for free - but the
    learning curve for you as the developer is steeper.
    Advantage
    - many possible CMsystems available
    - Lots of versatility
    - Some systems are free
    Disadvantages
    - Longer learning curve for you
    - not all systems can function on all servers.

  • New Training Client - how to build?

    We have a training client (3 yrs old) with training exercises, training users etc.
    We need to build a new training client based on the config. of our live system but minus the live data.
    We will then need to get the exercises etc. back onto new client.
    What is the best way to go about this.

    This sounds like a client copy minus the Application data. 
    In a client copy you cannot move part of the Application data, so I suggest you copy the client using only the Configuration and User Master Records.  The Profile SAP_UCUS would work for this.

  • How can I let breeders update their sale pages on their own?

    I am using GoLive CS and currently have interest in a site design from a few different animal breeders. I have already built and currently maintain a site for one breeder who lists her for-sale animals online, and I update the list whenever she needs it. I would like to pursue this segment of the market but would really like to find a way to allow the client to update the sales pages instantly instead of having to wait the standard "1-3 business days" for me to do it, and turning that portion of the site over to them would really streamline my process and allow me to take on more clients. I'm not a code expert, but I have a general knowledge and have designed some very functional sites.
    My question is, can someone at least get me started on where to look to learn how to make this possible? I'm not even sure where to begin but I am willing to learn. I want clients to be able to add names, descriptions, and photos for each listing. I currently use GoLive CS but am itching to upgrade since it's pretty much a dinosaur at this point... so if upgrading will make this easier, feel free to suggest it. Any comments are greatly appreciated!

    Honestly, I would use some sort of shopping cart software that you can add to your site design.  I've used ecommercetemplates.com 's program in the past and loved it.

  • Windows 8 clients not updating via SCCM?

    I am running Windows Server 2012 R2 and SCCM 2012 R2 (v5.0.7958.1000) and am trying to deploy updates to a Windows 8.1 client but am not having any joy, I keep getting errors within the WindowsUpdate.log.   
    Can deploy updates to Windows 7 machines okay but not Windows 8.1.

    QUERY mode? Did you mean, that you can only QUERY without changing data.
    This is the QUERY-ONLY-mode, which can be started e.g. call_form

    Are you using a 32-bit machine ? (use the links below to chcek it.)

    MAC : How to tell if your Intel-based Mac has a 32-bit or 64-bit processor - Apple Support
    If its a 32-bit machine you can only install Muse CC (version 7.4) and it can not be upgraded to higher versions as higher versions of Muse requires a 64-bit machine.
    If its a 64-bit and if still its not upgrading then there could be 2 possibilities.
    1. Creative cloud application is not installed, Please install it from the link Free Creative Cloud | Download Adobe Creative Cloud free trial
    2. You are not launching Latest Muse version (chances of this happening are very low)
