I'm thinking of buying a Debranded TouchSmart, and I want to know how do you know which drivers and updates to get if you don't know which model it is? Also, does anyone know if they still come with the bad hardrive that has the brick bug? Alot of these say they were refurbished, so I'm hoping they changed that drive or put the update on them. If the BIOS string still lists an HP S/N you can use HP Recovery media and drivers, if it does not contain the HP SN, then you can not and will need to get the apps on your own.

It would be easier to just fix whatever is making your machine slow.

Hi,
First upload the file into an internal table. If you are using a file that is on application server. Use open dataset and close dataset.
Then :
Loop at it.
*insert or modify as per your requirement.
Endloop.

Cannot get drivers and updates for my PC

I'm finally upgrading my hp pavilion d4500e cto desktop pc from XP to Windows 7 (I don't like Win 8 so got Win 7 Prof). Before upgrading, I want to update the BIOS if needed and save off the drivers and updates to external storage. I went to the Support page > Software and Drivers and searched on my product name. I'm having issues getting the drivers and updates I need for this PC. If I use the Solution and Update Finder wizard, it scans forever and never stops. I did a direct search on the product and clicked the product name. However I then get a page that says "Page Not Found". I tried searching for these drivers/updates on my newer HP Envy laptop thinking maybe I could at least save off from that PC. I get the same results after I click on the product name - Page Not Found . Help!! I need these drivers/updates ASAP. This PC still works great and has plenty of memory but due to software changes over the years I really need to upgrade to Win 7 now. TIA

You're very welcome.
There is no W7 BIOS update for your model.
There is a BIOS update for the XP operating system and you installed it, that would be the latest version.
Do not attempt to install a BIOS update written for another operating system. In other words, don't install that BIOS update after you install W7.

Since loading Maverick and then, with the assist of Apple Support, I had to reload drivers and updates for my HP scanjet G4050, I now enter image scan to scan photos but nowhere is there a "send" button to get them to iPhoto.

Here are a couple of ideas:
1. (my favorite) - connect the printer to the router with an Ethernet cable for virtually the same functionality, more speed and fewer connectivity issues.
2. Reset by turning the printer off, holding # and 6 keys while and for a few seconds after turning it back on.

Plotters their drivers and updating a mac

I am running a sign plotter off my mac mini via a USB cable. version 10.6.8 When a recent update in June came along my plotter stopped working. I have reinstalled and to no avail. Finally i simply went back to a backup before the update. Now my computer is getting buggy and I want to update. Anyone ever experience this problem?
The company that makes the plotter said it could be that the driver assigns a port and when you update it wipes those ports?
I have no idea how to fix this problem and update my mac. HELP!!!

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive & clear caches.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
If you do update & it doesn't print, might try this...

How to get rid of those Marvell raid drivers

By accident I installed the whole bunch of the dvd msi tools and also the Marvell raid drivers (Winky ?). Motherboard Z68A-GD65 B3. I don't use them, but even after uninstalling and cleaning the registry. I see this in the boot and it is back in the registry. Clearing the C-mos ? Idon't really know how to do this . I am thinking Skype doesn't offer that feature. I "Deleted Contacts" and they will not go away on my home page. It is getting to the point of beyond annoying and traumatic. I want them to go away and I have no power to do that on Skype? I emailed Skype and they simply told me to wait. I just posted like 20 status updates myself, thinking there is a limit. I don't see their faces anymore, but the scroll bar just got shorter.
@Skype... if you are reading this... do another update that allows us to delete annoying home page updates... ESPECIALLY when they are deleted from your contacts!

First, welcome to the Apple boards.
Backup what you have because it probably contains things from the original update you want to keep - network settings, passwords, etc. A bootable clone is your best bet - and test it out.
Then you need to format your HD (full, not quick) with the Leopard DVD and then reboot with the Tiger CD and install it. I am not sure how much you can migrate "downwards" from the Leopard backup, but some things will probably come along OK. Not sure about mail since it was converted by Leopard - will it unconvert? Don't know.
I have read of some who tried to simply install Tiger over Leopard but the results were less than great. You can try it once you have that clone backup, because you won't be losing anything.
I would suggest unplugging the clone during the erase and install process until you get to the migration point.

I have a brand new Leopard based MacBook Pro that I need to revert to its previous cat form of Tiger. Would you mind walking me through it? I have Tiger disks that came with another MacBook Pro so those should have all of the machine specific items I will need. As I understand this, I start the computer from the included Leopard disk and do a full format. (I noticed that there is a new partition style named GUID Partition, is this Leopard only?) Next, I load in my Tiger disks and install from those? I do not need to do any system backups as I have no information on this computer as of yet. Any help would be appreciated.

How do I order ResultSet AND update? My attempts yield ORA-00907 or ORA_01732

I am using JDev 9.0.3 to create an application I run using Java 1.3.1 and Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 JDBC drivers.
I want to select the rows of a single table ordered by a "sortorder" column, iterate through the records, update as required, and occasionally move to the insert row, insert a record, and move back to where I left off.
Can anyone supply the recommended way to do this?
Now if I drop the "order by" clause/requirement I can do this just fine.
However, if I add the "order by" clause (as below) I get error ORA-01732 "manipulation operation not legal on this view" when issuing rs.insertRow() (note NOT moveToInsertRow(), updateLong(), etc. but the actual insertRow() )

Oracle was the first RDBMS I used (way back, around the year 1990, I believe). Several years later, I moved from Oracle to Informix. It took me a long time to realize that, although Informix and Oracle are both RDBMSs, they are very different. What I needed to do was forget how I used to work with Oracle, and learn how to work with Informix.
Naturally, before I came to this realization, I spent a lot of energy cursing Informix and wondering, "why doesn't it work like Oracle does?"
However, after I made the "mind-switch", and learned to do things the Informix way, everything was smooth sailing (and very enjoyable, too :-)
So I'm only guessing, of-course, but I get the feeling that you may be encountering a similar reaction to me, now that you are migrating from "MySQL" to "Oracle".
The usual advice I see given to people in (what I assume to be) your situation, is to peruse the Oracle documentation and/or the book "Expert One-on-One Oracle" by Thomas Kyte.
