  • How to use an SWF file generated by Flex as a Stand Alone file

    Whenever we compile an MXML file, there is an SWF file
    generated. This file is not a standalone file and will not work on
    any other computer expect on the computer where there is a Project
    file created by the Flex builder.
    Why am I not able to use that SWF file as a stand alone file?
    If I want to use that SWF file alone as in the SWF generated
    by Flash what do I have to do?
    Regards,
    Rashmi

    The swf file will run from anywhere. What's it doing when you
    try to open it on another machine?
    The only thing I can think of is if you're getting a security
    violation in which case you would need to read about Flash Player
    trust files and security.

  • HOw to create a Batch file for java application and whats the use of this ?

    HI,
    How to create a Batch file for java application ?
    And whats the use of creating batch file ?
    Thanks in advance

    First of all, you're OT.
    Second, you can find this everywhere in the net.
    If you got a manifest declaring main class (an classpath if needed), just create a file named whatever.bat, within same directory of jar file, containing:
    javaw -jar ./WhateverTheNameOfYourJarIs.jar %*By the way, assuming a Windows OS, you can just double click the jar file (no batch is needed).
    Otherwise use:
    javaw -cp listOfJarsAndDirectoriesSeparedBySemiColon country/company/application/package/className %*Where 'country/company/application/package/' just stands for a package path using '/' as separator instead of '.'
    Don't specify the .class extension.
    Javaw only works on Windows (you asked for batch, I assumed .BAT, no .sh), in Linux please use java.exe (path may be needed, Windows doesn't need it 'cause java's executables are copied to system32 folder in order to be always available, see PATH environment variable if you don't know what I'm talking about) and use ':' as classpath (cp) separator.
    The '%***' tail is there in order to pass all parameters, it only works on Windows, refer to your shell docs for other OSs (something like $* may work).
    This way you have a command you can call to launch your code (instead of opening NetBeans just to see your app working). You could schedule tasks on it or just call it in any command prompt (hope you know what it is 'cause there have been people in this very same forum with no clue about it, if not just hold the 'Windows button' and press 'R', then type 'cmd' and run it).
    Finally add dukes and give 'hem away.
    Bye.

    I've been able to create project jar files in Eclipse by selecting Export from the File menu, then choose Java - Jar file - and provide the required information, name, destination folder etc. But when I do this, I do not export other jars on the build path this way nor do I expect to do this. I am only concerned with creating a jar file of my own work. A jar file does not "contain" other jar files. If the jar file contains the main method, and requires other jars for it's execution, then you may wish to include a reference to required jars on the class path entry of the Manifest file of the jar file you create. I'm not sure how to create a Manifest file in eclipse though..

  • How can I associat ".swf" files with flashlite 2.1

    How can I associate ".swf" files with flashlite 2.1? When I
    install flash lite 2.0,it can do ---- click .swf files system can
    autoly use flashlite to play.But now I install flashlite 2.1,it
    lost this ability return as "unknow files formate".
    Now,how can I reassociate ".swf" with flashlite 2.1?
    first: I must use flashlite 2.1.
    second:I must click .swf file directly.
    I know another way to open :open the player and then find the
    .swf,and open it. But ,unfortunately,I can not use this way to
    open.Now I will be looking for another way.

    unfortunately, the 2.1 developer edition you have installed
    has not overwritten the original version integrated into the
    symbian OS by the manufacturer. This means that the only way to
    open the 2.1 files is to open the 2.1 player from your apps menuu,
    and click on the swf file. You will only get direct access if the
    updated player is in a firmware update for you handset.

  • Can we integrate .swf file in java script ?

    Hello Friends,
    We implemented one concept in Flex and now would like to integrate with JavaScript. Earlier we integrated an Applet code but now, we developed the concept in Flex, however, I am unable to integrate the concept in java script.
    Can anyone help me out with the procedure to integrate flex swf file in java script ?
    Here is my earlier java script code :
    var file=gup('query');
    //document.write(file);
    var prevFile=gup('prevFileName');
    //document.write(prevFile);
    document.write("<table align=\"center\"><tr><td><applet code=\"MyApplet.class\" archive=\"Visual.jar\" width=1000 height=500>");
    document.write("</applet></td></tr></table>");
    function gup( name )
      name = name.replace(/[\[]/,"\\\[").replace(/[\]]/,"\\\]");
      var regexS = "[\\?&]"+name+"=([^&#]*)";
      var regex = new RegExp( regexS );
      var results = regex.exec( window.location.href );
      if( results == null )
        return "";
      else
        return results[1];
    Thanks in advance.

    What version of FlashPro are you using? If you want a self contained app that doesn't load external resources, publish an AIR app, which will work on Windows or OSX. I'm using OSX so I can't really help with .exe projector files, but it looks like the latest version of FlashPro no longer outputs projector files—I think everything is AIR now.
    If you really want to go the projector route, I'm guessing Jeffrey Smith's suggestion of finding an older version of Flash Player would be simpler.
    So for AIR, set your Publishing target to AIR for Desktop. Then under File>AIR settings:
    Output as: Application with runtime embedded
    Include files: Add all of your resources—the swf ID generated and it's resource folder
    In the Signature tab click New to create a self-signing Certificate (if you were developing commercial software you would need a third party certificate). You can save the certificate anywhere.
    When you publish you should find an AIR application file (.app) file in the directory with your .fla

    It will be pleasure if u have any tip that can help me.1. Learn the basics of programming as well as how to logically construct and deconstruct a problem domain.
    2. Learn the basics of programming java.
    3. Learn about java.io.*
    4. Learn about java swing
    5. Find documentation that describes the format of the ARPA file.
    6. Read the documentation and understand it.
    7. Find a source for ARPA files (if this is online then there is more java to learn as well.)
    8. Use 1,2 and 3 to write java code that consumes the ARPA file.
    9. Use 4 to ask the user for a word.
    10. Use 1 and 2 to write code that 'searches' what you read in 8.

  • When do you think a preloader is necessary?  How large should a swf file be to justify it?

    I'm looking for opinions on preloaders.  When do you use a preloader?  How large must a swf file be before you to put a preloader in it? I am working on a small program that is 80kb in size right now and I'm not sure if I should add a preloader.

    About 500kb, you should use a preloader.
    Below? It depends on your file. If everything is on frame 1 , maybe it's better to use one.
    You can test it  with "Simulate Download" (Control - Test Scene ->  View - Simulate Download)

  • How to create the exe files for java application

    How to create the exe file for java application?
    got any software to do that?
    Thanks

    In terms of converting java applications into exe files, there are 3 schools of thought:
    1) Instead of converting it to an exe, convert it to a jar file. Jar files are more portable than exe files because they can be double-clicked on any operating system. The caveat is that a Java interpreter must be installed on the target computer for the double-clicking to work.
    http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/Books/javaprogramming/JAR/
    2) Create an exe launcher that, when double-clicked, attempts to find a Java interpreter on the local computer and launches the Java application. The exe file is still double-clickable but whether your java application runs depends on whether a Java interpretor is installed on the target computer.

    http://www.jelude.cjb.net/
    http://thor.prohosting.com/~dfolly/java/index.html
    3) Create an exe launcher that bundles a Java interpretor. Same as above but when the exe file is double-clicked, it searches for a Java interpreter and if one is not found, it installs one on the target computer. The caveat is that the exe file would have an overhead of 10 MB in size for the interpreter.
    http://www.excelsior-usa.com/jet.html (evaluation version available)
    4) Convert the Java application into a native exe file. The caveat is that if you use Swing for your GUI, it won't be converted. Also this option is still somewhat experimental.
    Can't think of any free options right now.
