How to use an instance of a text object

Hello All
I have an animated open in which animated panel reveal video and text behind them, I need to add second text object to the animation that is going to be on top of the animated panel this text object I want it in the same place as the text to be revealed but I want to scale to make it look as if it was scaled (magnified) up as the panels move across the screen to reveal the video and text, but I want to use only one text object. In after effect I can accomplish this by precompossing the text then adding the comp text in a main comp and scaling the copy of the text comp but I only have to change one text layer. So what I want is to change edit one object in motion instead of duplicating the text layer and then editing two layers instead of one.

Hi all
I found the the answer to my question, but thanks for your help anyways.
here it is
added a layer then
added a text object (position size etc...)
selected the layer
went to objects menu and selected replicate (short cut letter " L ")
I needed to scale the copy (replicate) of the text object
so I scaled the replicator object inside the replicated layer
I had to move it to compensate for the scale
since I wanted to use it like a reflection across the panels
I added a copy of the panels to the replicated layer (the copy of the original text layer)
then added an image mask to the replicated layer
turned off the panels inside the replicated layer
selected the image mask
from the layers tab I draged the turn off panels object and droped it in the small drop box with the title "image"
in the image mask tab
set the source channel to Luminance everything else at default
and that is it

I am building a program but have a problem.
My program uses a controller class which instantiates a World-class. In the world class has a Vector I make a Vector in which I place all the elements in the world. (I also made an Element class from which all the objects that I put into this Vector extend.)
Everything except for some methods in the controller class are declared public. I might need to use static, but I do not know how.

I think you are best off if you use static methods and static fields only in your World class. That way you don't have to instantiate it and everyone has access to its methods. This would be then completely analogous to how you access methods and fields of the well-known class System (e.g. when you use System.out.println). This also has the advantage that you are guaranteed to have only one copy of the World.
Here is an example of how your World class, Avatar class and main code would look like.
Main code: (note the use of capital W in the name World, referring to class rather than instance).
// no need to instantiate World, as we call its static methods only
World.newElement (new Beamer ("beamer", 20. , 20.));
World.newElement (new Avatar ("avt", "beamer")); // add an avatar which is "beamed up". World class: (note the static keyword in front of the vector and the methods)

I am not sure what you are trying to do. But at some point you should know which methods to call on the remote interfaces. Maybe the method names are stored in the XML file as well or you have a set of standard method names (also consider parameters).
However, this can be solved by reflection. Look at the java.lang.reflect package, especially java.lang.reflect.Method, and also at java.lang.Class.
If you are doing this on the app server:
I've seen posts where people say that reflection is not permitted in EJB, but I don't think so. Check the EJB spec.
If you are doing this in an application: reflection is always permitted. Probably also in applets and JSP.

How to use multiple instances of the same dll ?

I'd like to use multiple instances of a jni dll . I have created
different threads, in each thread, I have called System.loadLibrary(..),
and I would like each thread to access a different instance of this
library.
Unfortunately, the loadLibrary function is effective only once so I
can not find the way to do this.
Can anyone help me on this ?

instance of this library.In Win32, this is outright impossible. A DLL will only exist once in a process space.
In Unix, or at least in Solaris, I think this is also not possible, as libraries are loaded by the dynamic linker, and it keeps tabs of which modules have already been loaded into the process space.
I'm assuming your problem is that your native library has non-reentrant code.
If so, there are two approaches you can take to this:
1) If you have access to the source code for the native library, change it so that it is reentrant.
2) If you do not, change your Java code so that access to the native code is made from whithin synchronize blocks.
If your problem is of a different nature, I'll second the words of the previous poster and ask you what it is...

How to use 2 instances of DI Server

we need two use two instances of DI server (on two different servers) to connect to two different companies at the same time without closing connection every time.
To do this we have bought two licenses of DI Server. Unfortunately it seems that the first DI server occupies both licenses.
Is there any setup we are missing?

I guess you could setup a new license server. The idea is to have on license server for each of your DI Server, this should avoid one di server of using all your license...

How to pass process instance id to callable object?

using the SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1 EhP 1 SP 2 I have modeled a small approval workflow with Guided Procedures.
At runtime, I want to pass the id of the running process instance to a callable object (WD4VC composite view). Is this possible and how?
Alternatively, is there any way to fetch the id of the current process instance from withina WD4VC composite view?

I hope you have executionContext in callable object.
You can get the ProcessID by calling function "executionContext.getProcessId()".

How to use the Calculated attibute in view object

I have a view object query with the calculated attribute name as 'TRANCODE' in the below sql.This query works for the initial page loading.
After the page gets loaded, there is a search section in the same page at the top.
Here i will have to build the whereclause to the same query and retrieve the values.

How to drag the end of two text objects at the same time

I have two seperate bits of text in a particular section of video. If I select the two text objects and drag the end left or right it only moves one. I I want to be able to drag the end of multiple things at the same time.
I may be being dumb but cant find how to do it. Any solutions gratefully received.

I have searched all over the SDN but didnt get anything relevent so here i am posting my query...
My scenario is as follows:
I have created a KM document iview that launches an HTML page, on click of button of HTML page a VC iview is launched. On this iview i have a button that hits BI query.
PS: A system object is created for the connectivity bet portal and backend BI server.
PS: i have configured SSO between portal and backend.
Now when i click on button on iview that fetches the data from backend, i am asked for authentication pop-up, although i have configured SSO why i am asked to enter UID and PWD again??
In system object there is a property named
<b>"session cookie = MYSAPSSO2"</b>
So should i use this property so that cookie will get transfered from one session to other session when i click button on iview??
If yes then HOW??
Is there any other setting remained in Visual Admin?? or Backend or portal?
What could be the missing??
PS: User id are same on portal & backend.
Any help will be highly appreciated...

You already have that. A script does not 'find, select, find next' - it finds all texts as soon as you execute the 'app.findGrep' command.

How to use multiple instances in Oracle CRM On Demand

Hi,
Just wanted to know if we can have multiple instances in Oracle CRM On Demand? Our company has bought licenses for Oracle CRM On demand and have received a single link for the development / staging, but we have two seperate business units that will be using this systems and their processes are completely different....I thing i wanted to ask is if we can have a sub system within a big system without both interfering into each others processes.

Hi Ahmed,
This might be quite possible. Again, it depends on the organizational and technical complexity of both these BU's.
1. There can be different processes in different geographies in which your application might be used. Inorder to achieve this in a single instance of CRM On Demand.
There can be some fields that are specific to certain region, in that case you can use Roles, Access Profiles, Dynamic Layouts to change the Fields of the layouts which will allow the user to enter/read information specific to only that user.
2. Workflows can be used to trigger an event only for users in certain BU defined in your application.
Also the Sales Process is specific to a Role and by configuring them correctly you can make these processes fit your requirements.
3. There are somethings that always remain the same though, like Accounts, Contacts , other entities and the pre-defined relationships, their names. Off-course these can be modified but when modified they apply through the applications. So you won't be able to have different names to the Account entity in the Major BU and the subset BU.
I would suggest you get in touch with Oracle Expert Services if you are looking to get more details on how you can make best out of a single instance.

While this formula works, my own preference would be to use separate columns for width and length, indicate the units only at the top of the columns, express all lengths in the same units, and enter only the numbers into the two columns. Your formula in D3 (or E3, when a new column was added before or after B) then would be
=B*C
and would be somewhat more forgiving of finger errors.

You have the "EmployeeNumber" field in the event container. Pass this into the workflow container by defining a Workflow Container element and subsequently use this container as a variable in your email using insert fields option and you will have the PersonNumber visible in your mail sent to the administrator.
