How to use CL_PROXY_BASIS instead of CL_PROXY_CLIENT your ABAP Proxy class?

Hello experts,
I have a scenario where a new basis release was done in my development and testing SAP boxes (Basis Release 710 I believe) which means from then on when generating an ABAP Proxy class the inheriting class will be used is CL_PROXY_CLIENT as opposed to the previous CL_PROXY_BASIS.
This causes a problem though because the target date for the project, which uses this ABAP proxy, is supposed to be in the production system before the date when the basis release will be done in the production system. Obviously this will cause delays in my project since if I were to move my objects to production before the basis release a dump/syntax error will occur in production because the class CL_PROXY_CLIENT is not expected be production yet.
The next plan is to try to use CL_PROXY_BASIS instead of CL_PROXY_CLIENT, by editing my ABAP Proxy Class be force. My question is, what steps do I need to take so that I can change these classes so CL_PROXY_BASIS will be referenced/used instead of CL_PROXY_CLIENT ?

Hi,
   You can call a method of a class from BADI. Here are the steps.
   1) In the BADI implementation create a object for the proxy class.
   2) Call the Execute_Synchronous method.
    You can define a BADI by using SE18 and you can implement it by using SE19.

We did some enhancement (addition of fields) to the datasource 0EC_CJOB_ATTR. All the changes made to 0EC_CJOB_ATTR appear in 0JOB_ATTR as well.
1. But when trying to extract data in /nRSA3, 0JOB_ATTR is erroring out and 0EC_CJOB_ATTR does not give any data eventhough ECC maintains some data for some particular PERNRs. Is there any suggestion on what could be the reason?

The simplest way seems to me is to use a XSL file for that. The <xsl:output> attributes doctype-system and doctype-public generate the DTD declaration <!DOCTYPE YOUR_ROOT SYSTEM "yourDTDfile.dtd"> and <!DOCTYPE YOUR_ROOT PUBLIC "yourDTDfile.dtd">, respectively.
When calling transformerInstance.transform() the XSLT processor performs the identity transformation - it just copies elements, attributes, content, processing instructions and comments to the result stream.
If you're using an xsl file for your transformation already, simply add <xsl:output doctype-system="yourDTDfile.dtd"/> to your existing XSL file.
If you're only using the identity transformation you'd need to change the line of code where you obtain the transformer instance from the TransformerFactory to:
t_factory.newTransformer(new StreamSource("test.xsl"));
and use this as test.xsl:

Now that Web Services is around, I'd look at possibly implement a Web Service call in your applet, which can then be given back any object(s) on return. Set up your server side to handle Web Service calls. In this way, you can break the applet out into an application should you want to (with very little work) and it will still function the same

How to use an existing certificate for the ABAP SSL setup using STRUST

All the documentation say to Create certificate Request and subsequently import the Certificate response from a CA.
In our case, the company has a certificate from a valid CA root and we would like to use this when creating the SSL PSE files, in particular, the SSL Server PSE.
Should I use sapgenpse instead of strust??
What are the steps to apply the certificate (www.company.com.au) to this instance (host.dom.internal)??????

[MESSAGE.GENERAL] How can take the actual error text for ABAP proxy error?

I'm a ABAPer.
I got to create outbound abap proxy for synchronous server proxy and described below.
My problem is program can not catch the actual error message when occurred error during send data to XI.
The return message is just 'MESSAGE.GENERAL'.
But according to the XI part, 'Key error' is actual reason.
So... how can i take the actual error text like 'Key error'?

My scenario is for Asynchronous communication.
I guess Fault messages are used in case of Synchronous communication for handling application errors. So if there was something wrong at the JDBC end then I could use the fault messages.

My Receiver is JDBC. So I guess I cannot use acknowledgements either.
Hence, I need to know what I can do to replicate the system errors eg. failed server etc...so that I can get catch these errors during sending.
I'll tell you abt what happened earlier.
My XI server was down. I executed the code for the sender ABAP Proxy and it did not catch the error. In SXMB_MONI in the R/3 system, I could see the messages queued up. When the XI server started, the messages were transferred to XI.
I need to handle such errors...ie. If the server is down or message did not reach XI then my ABAP program that sends data via ABAP proxy needs to know that something went wrong.

Using of Integration Scenario in a Abap Proxy to JDBC receiver synchronous

Can any one help me out how to go about for creating Integraion scenario in ESR as i'm new to the use of Integration scenario..
its an Abap proxy to Jdbc synchronous scenario... kindly help in this regards.

Hi Indudhar,
Right click on the namespace where you want to create the IS and say new, Select process integration scenario option, give a suitable name and say OK.
In the Component View section right click on the first grey column and Insert a sender Application component. Enter ur product and the software component version. Like wise in the next grey column enter the target Application component.
Now go to the top level menu and click on view and select grid.
Now right click on each App. component and insert the created actions. If the scenario is sync then the actions will be side by side otherwise the target one will be in the next grid of the target app. component.
After entering the actions click on the source action then press shift and click on the target action, right click and choose create connection between the two actions.
Fill in the info and then save.

How to check for Web Srvice Timeout in ABAP Proxy call

I am calling a web service in my ABAP program using ABAP proxy. The code is as under:
TRY.
      y_v_request-mt_request-yaskkey   = y_l_matnr.
      y_v_request-mt_request-maktx      = y_l_maktx.
      y_v_request-mt_request-ymtart     = y_l_mtart.
      CALL METHOD y_v_prxy->execute_synchronous
        EXPORTING
          output = y_v_request
        IMPORTING
          input = y_v_response.
    CATCH cx_ai_system_fault INTO y_v_fault.
      y_v_message = y_v_fault->errortext.
ENDTRY.
y_l_ycod = y_v_response-mt_response-answer.
1. Is there is any way to know that the called web service has timed out ?
2. Is it possible to check for the time spent in the call if it is more then say 500 sec then it should be considered as timeout?

you can catch CX_AI_SYSTEM_FAULT.
DATA:   lo_sys_exception TYPE REF TO cx_ai_system_fault,
l_error_text type string.
CALL METHOD ...
CATCH cx_ai_system_fault INTO lo_sys_exception.
l_error_text = lo_sys_exception->errortext.
You can configure XI timeout parameter (for shure in SMICM / Parameter and, if i remeber right, as profile parameter in XI administration).

How to use Search plugin functions in your plugin?

Hi,
I am developing a plugin which need to add an action for bookmarks. For this I need to search a particular word in the document and the corresponding page number.
On going through the SDK documentation I came across the Search plugin. There are ways in which your plugin can communicate with the Search plugin. For doing so you need to do the following:
1. Add HFT of the Search plugin by registering PluginImportReplaceAndRegister.
2. Add "SrchClls.h" header file.
I did the following steps and my plugin compiled successfully. But I am not able to understand how will I use the Serach plugin functions to find a word in the document from my plugin?

It's worth making sure that you understand the difference between "Search" and "Find" functionality in Acrobat, something rather masked in the UI in recent releases.
Find - looking for a string in the current document. The Search API has no connection to this.
Search - managing indexes of multiple documents. API provides limited functionality (create/delete/query/search). Search results are not available to the API, they can only be displayed in the UI as a results window.
