How to use Java to connect to LDAP server
We have a requirement is to get LDAP service through XI.
Scenario is SAP <-> XI <-> LDAP
It seems there is not a LDAP adapter for XI now, so, is it possible to embed a Java program to access LDAP server? We already have a program like this:
SAP <-> Java (through JCo) <-> LDAPThanks, I checked this document. Does it mean we still need to run a standalone java application?
SAP -> RFC Adapter -> XI -> Java Proxy -> Java Application -> LDAP Server
Is it possible just build the java application to a jar in XI ? The reason is, if we still need to run a Java application, and it can connect to SAP directly (through JCo). I cannot find any benefit to migrate to XI.
Our wish is
SAP -> RFC Adapter -> XI -> Java Proxy -> LDAP Server -
Please Help. How can you monitor a directory using jndi connection to a ldap server?
How can you monitor a directory using jndi connection to a ldap server? I
want the ldap server to monitor the content change in a file system
directory on another computer on the network. Can someone please help.
Thanks
FredHi,
Why do you want to use LDAP for Hard disk monitoring..???
U can do this by creating a MD5 checksum for all the files existing in some
perticular
directory and every hour or any configurable period u can recalculate the
checksum
to find out the change in the content.
I guess all u need is to get the code for "updatedb" utility of Linux and
instrument it for ur needs..
Hope it helps...

How can a Visual Basic Application be used to read a Netscape LDAP server?
I would Like to know if Visual Basic (ON AN NT WORKSTATION) can be used to access a Netscape LDAP Server (ON UNIX). And If so, will any API calls be necessary? Is there any documentation on using Visual Basic with LDAP?
Hi Ryan,
yes you can use VB with the nsldap32v30.dll or nsldap32v30.dll. You can get this from the iplanet page . The dll is inside the LDAP C SDK. Then, there's a 3 or 4 year old vb sdk with the declarations of the LDAP functions; but this seems not to be available in the web.
Please send me a mail, I'll send you the doc and a sample vb prog.

How do I add an objectclass to existing LDAP server entry using an ldif file?
I am trying to fix an LDAP server that has been operating with schema check off. I need to add an objectclass to the groups so that some attributes that have been added to the groups will be "legal." From the documentation, the changetype: modify will allow the changing/adding of attributes that are already a part of the schema objects that define the entry. It does not look like I can add an objectclass with the modify operation.
If this is the case, then how do I add an objectclass to an existing entry? Using the GUI is not possible since the directory server in question is not being managed with an admin server. Please tell me that I do not have to delete the groups and import them again with an LDIF file that has the new objectclass added.

My company is using a 10.1.3 Oracle LDAP server and I would like to authenticate users of my application against it.
Can anyone point to the correct documentation?
Thanks in advance

How i use nwdi to modify existing standard web dynpro application
Hi,
I need to change some existing application of web dynpro Java. I found solution nwdi would help in that. But how i use it can any one explain me in detail. Nwdi has already installed over here. So can i use it can explain me step by step.
Regards,
Gurprit BhatiaHi,
First you need to import the WD application to your NWDS and then you need to checkout the code for making any changes after making the chanhes you have to checkin the code.
First you need to setup the portal path in
1. WIndow->Preferences->Java Development Infrastructure->development Configurations.
2. You have to create a client in DTR by going into DTR Perspective.
3. Import the configuration from the track (this is your standard WD application) in Development Configurations Perspective.
4. Create the project from Inactive DCs tab.
5. Navigate to WD Perspective and build the project.
6. Check out the code to make chnages
7. Checkin the code after making the changes
8. Test the application in Portal

How can I get properties from my ldap server?
urgent,I don't know
how to use the getproperties to get the properties
from ldap server,anyone help?Hi Kevin,
You could write a portlet that uses the <um:getProfile> and
<um:getProperty> tag (
http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs40/p13ndev/jsptags.htm#1058056 )
Or you can do an easier test that requires no coding: If you use the EBCC
to create metadata about your ldap property set, then you can use the JSP
portal admin tool to see your LDAP properties for a user. I think if you go
through the UUP example on dev2dev.bea.com it has instructions for doing
this with a UUP. Basically, create a property set (a.k.a. "user profile")
named "ldap" in the EBCC and create properties that match the ones you want
to retrieve ("telephoneNumber", etc...CASE SENSITIVE). Then access the JSP
portal admin tool. If you are not using the LDAPRealm as your alternate
security realm then create a user that you know exists in LDAP and then hit
the link for the user and search the "ldap" property set and you will see
their property values. If you are using the LDAPRealm for authentication,
then this is not a ManageableRealm so you cannot create users (they are
managed in your LDAP server). So, if you are using the LDAP realm, just
create the "ldap" property set in the EBCC and go to the user mgmt tools in
the JSP admin tools and you will see your user. Then search the "ldap"
property set for your user and you will see the property values.

Hello,
We're trying to retrieve an arbitrary profile and it's attributes from
a Novell NDS ldap server. I've configured the ldapprofile.jar as
described in the portal doc:
http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs40/p13ndev/users.htm#1131824
but the article doesn't go on to describe how to use the configuration
to actually access the properties.
I'm unsure as to how to use the com.bea.p13n.usermgmt.profile.ldap
package to retrieve the information I need.
Is there some step by step instructions to achieve this as well as
some sample code to run in a jsp to test this functionality?
Thanks for any help.

Hi Eric,
The LdapPropertyManager handles that for you. All you have to do is
deploy it. (I'm talking about Portal 4.0). See the docs at "Accessing
Properties from an LDAP Server" (
http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs40/p13ndev/users.htm#1131824 )
You will need to deploy the LDAPPropertyManager EJB, located in
ldapprofile.jar. It is shipped with the product in
<wlportal4.0-install-dir>/lib/p13n/ejb/ldapprofile.jar.

How to use RDBMS Realm in Weblogic Commerce Server?
Hi All,
Same as the subject.
Thx
RayYou should read the security information in the Servlet 2.2 specification
that WL 5.1 implements:
http://java.sun.com/products/servlet/download.html
Chapter 11 deals with declarative and programmatic security, and includes a
section on roles:
11.4 Roles
A role is an abstract logical grouping of users that is defined by the
Application Developer or
Assembler. When the application is deployed, these roles are mapped by a
Deployer to security
identities, such as principals or groups, in the runtime environment.
A servlet container enforces declarative or programmatic security for the
principal associated with
an incoming request based on the security attributes of that calling
principal. For example,
1. When a deployer has mapped a security role to a user group in the
operational environment. The
user group to which the calling principal belongs is retrieved from its
security attributes. If the
principal's user group matches the user group in the operational environment
that the security
role has been mapped to, the principal is in the security role.
2. When a deployer has mapped a security role to a principal name in a
security policy domain, the
principal name of the calling principal is retrieved from its security
attributes. If the principal is
the same as the principal to which the security role was mapped, the calling
principal is in the
security role.

Verify NT User aganist an LDAP Server
Hi,
We would like to authendicate an NT User, running an Applet verified
using LDAP Server.
We would also like to build a SSO (Single Sign ON) based on this.
Can we use JAAS to get the NT user information (using NTLoginModule)
and use BEA JAAS login module to authendicate on the BEA Server?
The LDAP can be configured to the BEA Server (7.0) using the
LDAPRealm.
Have someone tried in these lines before? Any feedbacks ?
Thanks.Hi Carlo,
Here's a suggestion. Perhaps take a look at "Custom Login Modules" to achieve what you are looking for. There is quite a bit of information on the forums, as well as links to work provided by Frank Nimphius in this area.
You can also consult the Application Server 10.1.3.2.0 book:
"Containers for J2EE Security Guide" for more detailed information.
I hope this helps.

How to use open Row set in sql server 2014
Hello All,
How to open the row set using sql server 2014 using link server connection.Hi denyy,
Are you referring to the OPENROWSET function in SQL Server 2014?
The OPENROWSET method is an alternative to accessing tables in a linked server and is a one-time, ad hoc method of connecting and accessing remote data by using OLE DB. The examples below demonstrate how to use the OPENROWSET function:
A. Using OPENROWSET with SELECT and the SQL Server Native Client OLE DB Provider
SELECT a.*
FROM OPENROWSET('SQLNCLI', 'Server=Seattle1;Trusted_Connection=yes;',
'SELECT GroupName, Name, DepartmentID
FROM AdventureWorks2012.HumanResources.Department
ORDER BY GroupName, Name') AS a;
B. Using the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Jet
SELECT CustomerID, CompanyName
FROM OPENROWSET('Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0',
'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\SAMPLES\Northwind.mdb';
'admin';'',Customers);
GO
C. Using OPENROWSET to bulk insert file data into a varbinary(max) column
USE AdventureWorks2012;
GO
CREATE TABLE myTable(FileName nvarchar(60),
FileType nvarchar(60), Document varbinary(max));
GO
INSERT INTO myTable(FileName, FileType, Document)
SELECT 'Text1.txt' AS FileName,
'.txt' AS FileType,
* FROM OPENROWSET(BULK N'C:\Text1.txt', SINGLE_BLOB) AS Document;
GO
D. Using the OPENROWSET BULK provider with a format file to retrieve rows from a text file
SELECT a.* FROM OPENROWSET( BULK 'c:\test\values.txt',
FORMATFILE = 'c:\test\values.fmt') AS a;

Using Spamassassin With The SunONE LDAP Server
Has anyone out there integrated the Spamassassin the SunOne LDAP server?
Thanks,
AFRThx man, now i have my spamassassin working whith my ims server.
i have installed :
SpamAssassin Versin 3.0.2
running on Perl version 5.8.2
ims version 5.2 p2
i have just some problems.
first i can't add or chage hearder information of the message identified as spam. I have set my option.dat file as here :
Brightmail_string_action=data:,require ["addheader"]; addheader "Spam-test: $U";
and here is my spamassassin.opt config file:
host=127.0.0.1
port=783
mode=1
verdict=spam
debug=1
I have tryed all combinations of mode=1, mode=0,.. and all combination of brightmail action ( require "header", require [header] ...) but it doesn't work :(
The only action that works is the fileinto action. i made it in my option.dat file like this :
Brightmail_string_action=data:,require "fileinto"; fileinto "spam";
that worked very well, but i prefere to chage the subject of the message rather that file it into a separate folder.
last thing, it will be really great if u can tell me how can i add/remove email adresses/domains to a balcklist/whitelist. what i have tryed is with the spamassassin command :
# spamassassin --add-adr-to-black-list=*@promo.co
and of corse many other combination.
thanx in advance. -
How to use Portal SSO with existing BSP application
Hi all,
we run SAP EP 6.0 here and have a single start BSP page of
an application integrated with the SAP appintegrator for BSP. The rest of the existing BSP application still uses
the login functionality based on CL_BSP_LOGIN_APPLICATION
and is not integrated in the portal.
Problem: If a user directly accesses one of the "old" BSP pages, he should be redirected to the portal to auth. him via SSO and afterwards the original BSP page with all its parameters should be processed.
How to deal with that? Is there a similar mechanism like with the BSP_LOGIN_APP in between for the SAP EP?
Thanks for your help!
-RAINER-I think that doesnt solve the problem.
I have 2 systems: SAP ECC with all BSPs and the portal on another system. So I have to entry points: Via portal using the appIntegrator BSP or directly to the ECC.
As-is: If the auth. for the BSP appl. fails, the user is re-directed via the error page given in the service (SICF)
to a BSP login app. and from there to the requested page.
No portal in this concept.
Must-be: A user is still able to directly access a BSP on the SAP ECC by entering the URL in the browser. It's not a must entering via the portal first.
So when the login failed on the ECC (no SSO ticket), he should be redirected to the portal for getting his SSO.
After he signed in successfully the user will be forwarded to the BSP page he entered in the browser the first place.
I can't see a way to use the URL iView. I am thinking of simply changing the login mechanism of the BSP using the portal login functionality.
The link you gave me offers an implementation of CL_ICF_SYSTEM_LOGIN. Any ideas?
Regards,
-RAINER-
