How to use FSO(FileSystemObject) in acrobat javascript?

Okay, so here is my problem:
I wanna retrieve the file name list from a HardDisk folder.
After a while of google, I am aware that FileSystemObject could help to achieve what I what.
You see, how could I use fso in my acrobat javascrip?
Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks for your reply.
I am aware of that acrobat javascript is just a part of javascript language.
My code is now specialized for opened docs, and is added to Batch processing...

  • How to use an if statement in javascript code

    Hello,
    I have a batch processing script to search for text "employee signature" on each page in a multiple page file and to then list in the console any pages that do not have the "Employee Signature" text included.
    The script is not yet functional as an if statement needs to be included.
    Can anyone please advise how to use an if statement in javascript code?
    var numpages = this.numPages;
    for (var i=0; i < numpages; i++)
    search.query("Employee Signature", "ActiveDoc");
    console.println('Pages that do not include an employee signature: ' + this.pageNum +' ');
    Any assistance will be most appreciated.

    Thank you very much for your assistance try.
    I have modified the code as suggested and the page numbers are now listing correctly, thank you, but....................,
    The console  lists every page as having an "employee signature" when there are pages in the document that do not have an employee signature.
    The code (revised as follows) is not processing the "getPageNthWord part of the statement" in the console report?
    Can you please advise where the code needs reworking?
    var ckWords; // word pair to test
    var bFound = false; // logical status of found words
    // loop through pages
    for (var i = 0; i < this.numPages; i++ ) {
       bFound = false; // set found flag to false
       numWords = this.getPageNumWords(i); // number of words on page
       // loop through the words on page
       for (var j = 0; j < numWords; j++) {
          // get word pair to test
          ckWords = this.getPageNthWord(i, j) + ' ' + this.getPageNthWord(i, j + 1); // test words
          // check to see if word pair is 'Employee' string is present
          if ( ckWord == "Employee") {
             bFound = true; // indicate found logical value
             console.println('Pages that includes an employee signature: ' + (i + 1) +' ');
             break; // no need to further test for this page
          } // end Employee Signature
       } // end word loop
       // test to see if words not found
       if(bFound == false) {
             console.println('Pages that do include an employee signature: ' + (i + 1) +' ');
        } // end not found on page

  • How to Use Mobile Service in HTML/JavaScript Application

    The Windows Azure Mobile Service is a back end tool for mobile applications. It supports various platforms, such as Windows Store, Windows Phone 8, iOS and Android. The Windows Azure
    Mobile service can also support HTML/JavaScript. This article helps you to get a basic idea of how to use the Windows Azure Mobile Service in HTML/JavaScript applications.
    Let us start with a Quick startup project provided by Microsoft. A Quick startup is a simple demo project that can help us to understand how to use the Windows Azure Mobile Service with HTML/JavaScript. So let's start from the Quick startup project.
    Login into in the Windows Azure portal and use the following procedure.
    This article assumes you already have a Windows Azure account and the mobile service is enabled in your account.
    1. Create a new Windows Azure Mobile Service
    Click on the +New button from the left corner and select Compute -> Mobile Service and then click on the "Create" button.
    The Windows Azure portal popup creates a mobile service wizard when you click the Create button. Windows Azure asks you to enter the mobile service name as shown in the following image:
    Select the database options and region for your mobile service and click on the "Next" button.
    Once your mobile service is successfully created, the portal will show all your mobile services as shown in the following images.
    Ok! We have created a new mobile service successfully. Let's move to our subsequent steps.
    1. Quick startup Project
    As we all know, the Windows Azure Mobile Service can support many platforms such as Windows Store, Windows Phone 8, iOS, Android and HTML/JavaScript. This article only tells us about the new HTML/JavaScript platform that is recently added to the Windows Azure
    Mobile Service.
    In the image above, we are in the quick startup page where the Windows Azure Mobile Service allows the user to choose their platform. I have selected the HTML/JavaScript Platform.
    In the image above, we found 3 quick steps that can allow us to run <g class="gr_ gr_74 gr-alert gr_gramm Grammar" data-gr-id="74" id="74">a HTML/JavaScript</g> sample project.
    1. Create Table: In this step the user needs to create a table that can used by the sample project, once you hit the create TodoItem Table button. The Portal will create a TodoItem table in your mobile service. You
    can check this table by clicking on the data tab(menu).
    2. Download and run your app: In this step the user needs to download the Quick startup project that is provided by the Windows Azure portal. Click on the "Download" button and download the project. You will
    see the following files in the quick startup project.
    The Server folder contains some files to setup this project locally. The user should run the file from the server folder corresponding to their OS. I am using Windows OS so I ran the <g class="gr_ gr_80 gr-alert gr_spell ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace"
    data-gr-id="80" id="80">lanch</g>-<g class="gr_ gr_79 gr-alert gr_spell ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" data-gr-id="79" id="79">windwos</g> file to setup this project locally in
    IISExpress.
    Press r and enter the key, you will see IISExpress started. Do not close this Windows and open your browser and request the http://localhost:8000/ page.
    Enter the Item name and click on the add button. Your Item will be added to the TodoItem table.
    3. Configure your host name: This step is a very important step for any HTML/JavaScript application that uses the Windows Azure Mobile Service. In this <g class="gr_ gr_83 gr-alert gr_gramm Punctuation only-ins
    replaceWithoutSep" data-gr-id="83" id="83">step</g> the user must register their website name in the Cross-origin resource sharing (CORS). By default, "localhost" is added by the Windows Azure Mobile Service
    so your quick startup project can run without making any CORS setting changes. The user can add their website domain name by clicking on the configure tab (menu).
    The user can add as many website domain names as needed.

    are you asking a question or did you just post a tutorial here? you might want to post it as a blog post or wiki entry instead.

  • How to use window.confirm in a JavaScript with unknown variables

    On my delete category page the user can pick the category it wishes to delete from a dropdown list (which is generated by rows in my database).
    When the user hits the "Delete" button ths OnClick runs a JavaScript that sends the delete request to a .jsp page that handles all my insert, update and delete queries.
    <input name="delete" type="button" id="delete" onClick="post('delete');return false;" value="Delete">
    function post(actValue)
         document.MyForm.action.value = actValue ;
         document.MyForm.submit() ;
    }So far, so good. But:
    Before the site goes to this last jsp page I want a pop-up window that ask's for a confirmation of the delete-request.
    So I changed the OnClick and I made another JavaScript::
    <input name="delete" type="button" id="delete" onClick="delete('categoryName');return false;" value="Delete">
    function deleteConfirm(categoryName)
         if( window.confirm("Are you sure you want to delete: " + categorieNaam + "?") == true)
              post('delete');
              return false;
    }The problem is, when the page is loaded, we don't know yet what category the user wants to have deleted. So categoryName is unknown.
    How can I make this work?

    You have the category in a dropdown list?
    <select name="catToDelete">
    <option value="cat1">cat1</option>
    <option value="cat2">cat2</option>
    <option value="cat3">cat3</option>
    </select>
    You can use javascript attributes such as
    var toDelete = document.all.catToDelete;
    // the value it will submit
    var selectedValue = toDelete.value;
    // the selected index
    var selectedIndex = toDelete.selectedIndex;
    // the option that is selected
    var selectedOption = toDelete.options[selectedIndex];
    // the text of that option
    var theText = selectedOption.textYou should be able to extract the info you need from that I hope.

  • How to use command line with acrobat to extract page(s) from pdf file?

    I have adobe acrobat, and have a pdf file with over 500 pages. I need to extract small chunks of pages from it as seperate pdf files. I was hoping I could use command line interface to do this faster.
    Something like:
    acrobat src des start end
    so for example
    adobe file.pdf my_folder 3 5
    Is this possible? There are many chunks and I don't want to manually do it for every chunk. Command line would be much easier...
    Thanks

    I can't find any programs... sorry.
    Can you create one for me please.
    It should at least have these 5 arguments: (well the first one is not neccessary since were not using acrobat anymore...)
    [program] [src path/src file] [destination path/file name] [start page (inclusive)] [end page (inclusive)]
    for example:
    acrobat ./my_file.pdf ./my_folder/chunk1.pdf 3 5
    if start page == end page, then it only extracts that one page.
    So this way I can just stack these comands on a .bat file or something (maybe like 100 commands), then run the bat file, and it will create all the files.
    Thanks for doing this, it is appreciated.

  • How to use an ActiveMQ broker plugin

    Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question but I've just inherited this project and have never used BlazeDS or ActiveMQ before. I've got a collection of various programs that are communicating through BlazeDS and ActiveMQ and I've been tasked with recording all the messages being passed between them for later analysis. It appears from this link that I could just develop a BrokerPlugin that could take care of this pretty easily. However I don't know how to add this BrokerPlugin to the system. There doesn't any appear to be any configuration data for ActiveMQ in the current system. I believe it was built on the BlazeDS turnkey server with ActiveMQ added to handle the JMS integration.
    Also, I had originally just created a small app that subscribes to all the topics and saves the messages out to an xml file. That part worked for most of the messages but some of the message destinations are defined as queues though so they can't have more than one subscriber. I wasn't sure how to go about getting these messages without using a BrokerPlugin.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    That's right. You can't.
    >
    >But I can't find out how to use the methods of the plugin.
    You cannot use the methods of a plug-in. They are for its own internal
    use.
    A plug-in registers for call backs. Most obviously menu selections,
    but also selecting a tool, clicking on a button, opening a document,
    changing page etc. Also it can register an "idle" procedure to be run
    when Acrobat is not busy, at intervals. Your plug-in code is run, by
    Acrobat, at these moments.

  • How to use an own plugin to add 3d-content

    Hi,
    I have started to develop a plugin for Acrobat 8.0 that will add some kind of 3d-content to an existing model. I tried somewhat, but I face the problem that I can't find out how to use the plugin in Acrobat with Javascript. I added the .api file in the folder Acrobat/Plugins and the plugin is loaded.
    But I can't find out how to use the methods of the plugin. I always get the error: 'can't found [methodname]'. Do you need to use some kind of prefix, or whatever. Perhaps this is a newbie question, but I can't find out it in the documentation.
    Any help will be fine!

  • How to use goto function?

    how to use goto function in indesign javascript??
    my script starts with chekcing whether input files are present or not.. if any of the input files r not present, i want to skip the function n terminate the functioning with displaying the message tht file doesnt exisit.... i was wondering to use goto function for tht...so how to use it? or is there any other alternative to that??

    goto is generally frowned on by programmers.
    The only legitimate use of goto is when you need to escape a nested loop.
    If you need to skip part of a routine, use break, or simply return from the current function.
    The pattern commonly used by the SDK looks like this:
    do
         if(condition1 == false)
              break;
         if(condition2 == false)
              break;
         if(condition3 == false)
              break;
         doSomethingReallyCool();
    }while(false);
    "break" jumps to the end of the do/while loop which always exits when you reach the end of it (while(false))

  • How to use Javascript, C#, or Java to automatically fill out a PDF file using ACROBAT PRO

    Hi.
    I have purchased a copy of acrobat pro and am currently using it to try to create a method of populating certain fields in a PDF file.
    This particualar scenerio is a printable cerficiate, it has a spot for the persons First Name, Last Name, and other basic info.
    So we have an exisiting editable PDF, a database with the user's info, and a ASP.NET web server, and of course Acrobat Pro.
    How can I use these components to create an auto fill script?
    Ideally, we'd genereate these certs on the fly, and allow users to download them.
    A code sample would be awesome.
    Thanks!

    I've discovered that you can create a "PDF Form" and edit that form with Javascript.
    My question now is, what is the prefered method for controlling the pdf form?
    I would like to include the PDF file in an HTML page and edit the form fields using javascript in that HTML page.
    I think that this is how developers are meant to work with dynamic pdf files.
    In the acrobat javascript reference, it only shows an example using the acrobat javascript console.
    If anyone has used Javascript with PDFs, I would highly appricate some input.
    Thanks,

  • How to Use Acrobat SDK for Automation Using VB or Perl

    Hi Forum,
    I am a new bie, just 2 days old to acrobat and javascript, and I am basically a perl developer
    I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro,
    I downloaded Acrobat SDK, but i don't know what else to do further, how to use??
    I tried to start learning SDK, but no proper documents i found to learn and start using SDK,
    Please suggest some guide or documentation for start learning Acrobat SDK (Step by Step guide)
    Here with I have created a small script to merge two pdf
    // Create a new PDF document:
    var newDoc = app.newDoc();
    // Insert doc1.pdf:
    newDoc.insertPages({
    nPage : -1,
    cPath : "/d/sathish/1.pdf",
    // Insert doc2.pdf:
    newDoc.insertPages({
    nPage : newDoc.numPages-1,
    cPath : "/d/sathish/2.pdf",
    // Save the new document:
    newDoc.saveAs("/d/sathish/myNewDoc.pdf");
    My code is working fine and merging properly,
    Is there any way to execute this script through commandline or using some other scripting languages like perl or through VB
    My objective is to automate the merging process without any manual intervention, I don't want to open acrobat manually to execute this javacript, i want to automate that process too,
    Please suggest me which will be very helpful to me,
    Thanks in advance
    Thanks & Regards
    Sathish V.

    It is a big SDK and to learn its features requires a lot of reading. But to start with I guess I should start with "Introduction to SDK".
    Since you want to control Acrobat from another application you should consider this under "Interapplication communication". You will be using OLE/COM.

  • How to call web services from Acrobat API using VC++

    Hi,
    I have api plugin which installs custom menu and tool bar to adobe acrobat. In this plugin once user installs this plugin, he need to activate this tool by entering key value. this limites to limited number of users (which is decided by client while buying).
    I am using javascript and VC++ with Visual studio 2008.
    So can some one suggest me how can i achive this.
    Thanks
    Shiva

    First, this is the scripting forum.  You want the SDK forum.
    Second, this isn't an Acrobat issue.  It's a C++ programming issue. If you want to connect to a web service you'll need to use the windows or mac socket interface.  If you're doing this using MFC then there is a library for internet interactions. If not, I'm sure there is still a library for it, I know there is a system API, you'll just have to look around.  But the main point is that it's completely outside the Acrobat SDK.
