How to use Reference type of Data Element

Hi guys, is there anyone could give me a trace how to use reference type of data element.
More details i'm going to reach is:
I create 2 tables:
eq.
1. table ZFIRST has field X with data element ZFX (Data element i declared).
2. table ZSECOND has field Y.
Here at field Y (second table) I'm going to declare a new data element say it ZFY, but in ZFY I'm going to use the data element as i declared before (ZFX). Is it possible if I do it using reference type data element (SE11)?
I already did this way, but I got error :
Field Y: Reference ZFX to class w/o interface cannot be used in DB table ZSECOND
What does it mean?. Did I miss something about using reference data element type?.
This error occurs when I activate ZSECOND table. However in creating ZFY (reference) to data element ZFX, there is no error occur.
The point is I need to RE-declared existing data element and ot put existing data element(ZFX) to my current table (ZSECOND).
Any helpful will be highly appreciated.
Thanks.

Field Y: Reference ZFX to class w/o interface cannot be used in DB table ZSECOND
What does it mean?. Did I miss something about using reference data element type?.
Apparently system doesn't allow you to type a transparent table field with deep type. This refers to references and tables types as components. The RDBMS (Relational DB Management System) cannot interpret this componenets correclty and mapp them to TABLEs in DB.
So I am affraid you won't be able to type table component with reference to other data element.
The point is I need to RE-declared existing data element and ot put existing data element(ZFX) to my current table (ZSECOND).
Sorry but I don't get it, could you please explain this more clearly. Maybe then we can think of some workaround for you.

  • How to use "Reference Structure" setting in analysis grid item

    Hello expert,
            in Bex analyzer, how to use "Reference Structure" setting in analysis grid item by example?
    Many thanks,

    The variable needs assigned a value, that's why you're getting prompted. When you execute the statement, it's not executing the variable and exec lines.
    Having script output available in a grid would be an enhancement request.

    There is a LiveType (or LiveFonts) content section in the Library in Motion 4 (but NOT Motion 5 - LiveType is obsolete, much to my chagrin...) - but you can still import LiveType projects into Motion 4 just as you could in Motion 3 - a simple drag'n'drop from the finder will do; or use Import from the file menu.

  • How to make reference wbs custom data carried to new wbs when using custom tab and custom table

    I created a custom tab for WBS elements by using user exit CNEX0007 and custom screen and put a table control in it.
    As table control's data has to be stored in a table I could not use append structure of PRPS.
    When I used reference wbs, PRPS custom fields were carried also but I could not find any solution to fill table control data with reference table.
    I need to get correspondence between reference number's and new id's key data. Is there any exit, enh. that I can store the relationship.

    Solved...
    I've used an enhancement point in include LCNPB_MF38.  CJWB_SUBTREE_COPY exports a table called newnumbers. Here you can find correspondances between copied WBS and new WBS.
    Exported table to memory id.
    And imported it in another user-exit. You can use proper user exit for your need.  ( EXIT_SAPLCNAU_002)

  • How to use record type for inserting data into a table

    I've read through the web the following tip:
    "When working with a large number of columns, using variables of type RECORD is a better approach. With this approach, you do not have to list anything in the INSERT statement, because you are inserting a variable into the table that is defined as a row from the same table."
    I usually define a variable as
    r_mytable     mytable%ROWTYPE;
    and inside my procedure I'll set the fields I need as
    r_mytable.field1 := 1;
    r_mytable.field3 := 7;
    and then I perform the insert as
    insert into mytable
    (field1,
    field3)
    values
    (r_mytable.field1,
    r_mytable.field3);
    According to the tip I've copied above, how can I use the TYPE RECORD of pl/sql for achieving the same result but perhaps in a smarter way?
    Thanks in advance!

  • How to use 2 Time trigger UI elements

    Hi Experts,
      My user doesn't want to see the time out error in the webdynpro application after leaving(idle mode) the browser for hours. And one more thing is he wants a popup for every 15mnts to show a message on the screen.
    So, I have used 2 Time Trigger UI elements to achieve this functionality,
          1st one(Time Trigger UI Element) is used to show the pop up message and It is working fine to show the message in a Pop Up .
          2nd one is used to handle the Time Out Error for hours and this is not working as expected, if user leaves the browser for hours .
    I hope you understand my requirement and issue.
    Could you please suggest me how to achieve this functionality.
    1000 Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

    Hi,
    If I set the 3 hours to 2nd Time Trigger UI element and tested after 2 hours and browser is still throwing the time out error message.
    After 2hrs is the time out error throwing by the Timed trigger or the standard session time out? I believe after 2 hrs the standard session time out is throwing! You need to give the delay time less than your session time out.
    You can get the session timeout using wdr_task=>server->session_timeout ( in mins ) And you can get the application server time out using
    data: name type pfeparname,
            value type pfepvalue.
      name = 'rdisp/plugin_auto_logout'.   " parameter
      call 'C_SAPGPARAM' id 'NAME'  field name
                                        id 'VALUE' field value.   " value contains time out

  • How to Use SOAPArray to Exchanged Data with a Web Service

    The method of a prototype Web service I created is defined to take many parameters
    and return an object of a user defined class. Furthermore, the user defined class
    includes data elements of another user defined class and the Java ArrayList class.
    This works with a Java client referencing the WebLogic created client.jar file
    but I don't know how well it will work with a non-Java client. In particular,
    with Perl which is the language that will be used by the developer who first will
    test with the prototype.
    In posts to this newsgroup use of "language-specific, generic containers" has
    been discouraged and the "language-agnostic" SOAPArray recommended. I have searched
    this newgsroup and the Web for examples of how to use a SOAPArray in a Web service
    EJB to receive parameters and return results but found none.
    Will someone refer me to an example or give an overview of how a Java Web service
    EJB running in WebLogic 6.1 would use SOAPArray to get parameter values and return
    results?
    Also, I would like confirmation that it is best to use SOAPArray to exchange data
    with a Web service to achieve the goal of a service accessible by any language.
    Thank you.

    Replies in-line:
    How are the structures, e.g. gltrans-workType, defined in the Web service?The structure is made up of nested Java Beans, but this does not mean that the
    client for your web service has to be written in Java. The WSDL that I sent contains
    everything that a .NET-based (or Perl-based, or Python-based, or VB-based, or
    C++ based) Web Service Stack needs to correctly create all the data types in the
    web services' signature! That's the beauty of XML Schema! It's programming language
    independent :-)
    In
    other words, what definition in Java resulted in the WSDL statements?The WSDL wasn't produced by WLS 6.1, but it (WLS 6.1) can consume it.
    What is the signature of method submitGLTransWorkAsJavaBean() in the
    Web service?public void submitGLTransWorkAsJavaBean(GlTransactionsCpyType glTransactionsCpyType)
    GlTransactionsCpyType is the outer-most Java Bean. WLS 6.1 does not generate
    Java Beans for you, but it will use ones that you defined. See the Java Bean tutorial
    on the Javasoft sitem for details on how to create a Java Bean.
    Was the WSDL generated using the WL tools for creating a Web service?No.
    Conclusion:
    You asked for someone to provide you with an example of how to use SOAP array
    in a WSDL, which is what the attached file contained :-) What you want to do now
    is find a tool that can generate Java Bean code from this WSDL (Apache Axis has
    a wsdl2java tool that should work), or create the Java Beans yourself. Afterwards,
    create a WLS 6.1 Web Service a expose it for a Perl or .NET client.

    Sounds like a pretty cool prototype :-)

    Will someone refer me to an example or give an overview of how a Java
    Web service
    EJB running in WebLogic 6.1 would use SOAPArray to get parameter values
    and return
    results?
    Also, I would like confirmation that it is best to use SOAPArray toexchange
    data
    with a Web service to achieve the goal of a service accessible by any
    language.
    Thank you.

  • JAXB:How to get the type of an element

    Hi
    I am working with JAXB 2and i am using a custom ValidationEventHandler to validate my xml document:The issue I have is that when my document isn't valid,i would like to get the error node and its type(string,date...)
    I tryed node.getNodeType() but it return if the node is ATTRIBUTE_NODE,TEXT_NODE....
    public boolean handleEvent(ValidationEvent ve) {
            if (ve.getSeverity()==ValidationEvent.FATAL_ERROR ||
                                   ve .getSeverity()==ValidationEvent.ERROR){
                ValidationEventLocator  locator = ve.getLocator();
                org.w3c.dom.Node node=locator.getNode();
              System.out.println("ERROR element type:"+node.getNodeType());
             return true;
           }How could i get the type(String,Date,Integer...) of the node in error?

    As you already mention that is not resolved before the annotation processing stage
    [ http://openjdk.java.net/groups/compiler/doc/compilation-overview/index.html]
    So, you probably need to produce your own analysis code or better reuse the compiler's own code if that turns out to be easy (no clue). I reckon it is better if you avoid modifying the compiler itself as it will make much more difficult to maintain and deploy your (more than a) processor.
    Sorry if you already tough about this.

  • How to make BI Info obj Data element in-herit source DE documntn?

    Say I am in ECC. I go to SE11, give table name MARA and then doubleclick on the dataelement 'MATNR'. Then I click on documentation. I get a popup with Short text " Material Number" and Definition "Alphanumeric key uniquely identifying the material'.
    I am interested in the latter information that is 'Definition' - & in general whatever documentation comes up for data element in ECC.CRM.SCM,SRM.
    Now I log into SAP BI. I find that under characteristic 0Material, the data element is /BI0/oimaterial. When I double-click this datamaterial and press the documentation button, the system says 'No documentation'.
    My Questions:
    1. IS there a switch we could turn on in source ECC/SRM/CRM/SRM so that the data element in SAP BI inherits the original source field data element documentation.
    { I am not too convinced of the argument- that in BI we have info objects in ECC we have fields - since I am talking of data element level information- I would tend to think of this as an oversight of the designers or de-prioritization !!}.
    2. Could we have an ABAP workaround? That is, in BI we identify the tables that house the mapping between the source and destination data elementsa and take out this information. Then we extract the dataelement documentation by function DOCU_GET (from eCC) and use the mapping info above to link SAP BI data element with source data element documentation.
    WHY do I want to punish myself as above? My use case is, we take out SAP BI Table, field, metadata etc and create a model in a modeling tool and physical implementation in a 3rd party DW database as our own canonical, application-agnostic corporate datawarehouse. I would want the source data element documentation to flow to this last system as well as the modeling tool.

    Sasanka

    That is, in BI we identify the tables that house the mapping between the source and destination data elementsa and take out this information. Then we extract the dataelement documentation by function DOCU_GET (from eCC) and use the mapping info above to link SAP BI data element with source data element documentation.
    1) SAP don't supply this, I would imagine, because R/3 isn't the only possible source of data.  I'm currently working on an app that extracts from R/3, an Oracle database and APO.  From whence should I take the documentation for my MATERIAL info object?  While being able to transfer the documentation of data elements might be very useful for your app, I can't see that generally it would be of interest to clients - I've certainly never heard of such a requirement.  So, my opinion at least, it isn't a design flaw.
    2) As you've pointed out, you can get the tables that do the mapping, so you know the source data elements, so you can get the documentation.  I'm not sure of how to store the documentation, but the obvious candidate for a link between infoobject and dataelement would be master data of an own infoobject.  You could wrap DOCU_GET in an RFC (if it isn't RFC enabled), and do a direct call between your 3rd party app and r/3 to get the documentation.  For information about the mapping tables, I'd suggest asking that question specifically in one of the BI forums.
