How to use Service Variant?

Hello Experts,
I saw a thread on Service variant and i have same requirement.
The difference is just that in this thread person is using Standard Web service where as for me i am going to create custome web service.
But for my custom Enterprise service, 1 consumer wants just 10 fields out of 100 where as otherone wants all 100 fields as response.
I tried to access link from this thread but it says page can not be displayed that is y i am opening new thread.
Services Variants.
I am trying to access the above thread.
Again i need to know that , is this same concept is applicable for the custom web services or not?
Because for me I have to create one custome Enterprise service which will have around 100 fields.
One of the consumer wants just 10 fields where as the otherone wants all the fields as response.
I am new to SOA also so if possible please let me know what all the configuration steps i need to do if i want to use SAP PI also in this? Specially ID steps.

Hi Hetal,
Service Variants is ECC (Abap) functionality as Avishek mentioned to you [here|Services Variants.;. You could also go the PI route as a 'Service Variant' workaround as Gourav has suggested above.
The SR is not used at runtime, it's used during design time for service discovery & WSDL Rather use the URL that you find for the service in SOAMANAGER (URL for selected binding) on the consumer side.
You should definitely do a test scenario yourself using an ECC web service / enterprise service using SoapUI or XMLSpy or you Soap client of choice to see what the results are of the request & response. The consumer should only need to send the mandatory parameters (as a bare minimum) in the request & there is generally only a handful of mandatory parameters for Enterprise Services on the request & reponse structures. So what you'll get back on the response is only the mandatory parameters plus any other parameters the provider supplies values for.
Please also refrain from cross posting & posting the same questions mutiple times.

If you are asking about "slection vairants" in SPRO settings of "shipment cost document" then
When it is activated,
each user can have his own slecetion and list criteria for
1. List shippment costs:calculation
2. List shippment costs: settlement
This can be directly saved from VI01 screen by the user.
from environment> lists
This is user specific only.

There is more than one place where Service Broker fits in. Generally, one can say that Service Broker permits you to implement things asynchronously. For instance, when a row is updated in a table a mail should be sent to someone. Rather than having a trigger
that sends the mail on the spot, the trigger could post a message on a Service Broker queue. Then there could be an activation procedure which reacts to this message and composes and sends the mail. This activation can be in the same database - but it can
also be on a completely different server which does not even have a direct connection to the actual server.
Activation can also be external. That is, there is an application that polls the queue, and again this could be on an other server, and when there is a message in the queue the application processes it.

I want to know how to use SERVICES in oracle 10g rac.I know how to create servcies i.e using srvctl create servcies or DBMS_SERVICES.

How to change Service Item using BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE.

There's a requirement for me to upload/ Create Entry Sheet using BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE from the source file.
The Header was given to me but the Service Item, they would like the flexibility to change the existing lines that was adopted from ML81N.
Eg of the file.
Header given:-
PO NO
Po Item
Short Text
Ext Entry Sheet No
Service Location
Period Start
Period End ....n so on
Service Item given:-
Service Line (Extrow)
Service Order Qty (Memge)
Ext Service No (EXTSRVNO)
The objective of this file is
1) Create Service Entry Sheet (using Header)
2) Adopt the Service Item
3) Change Service Item (using Service Item)
Could anyone guide me how to do it? If Using BAPI_ENTRYSHEET_CREATE...is actually creating it with full details of the upload file. but given to me, t requrement is they would like to create n change the item.

If you are trying to test the FM through TCode SE37 then it will not give you the desired output.Do one thing create a test program and there you call the FM with your data.I hope in this way you can solve the issue.

I know only on custom devloped variant name, say "ZTEST". I do not know, which program is using it. Entry is there in TVARV table.

Hi Chetan,
The variants for a report will be stored in the table <b>VARI</b>.
Give your variant name to the field VARI-VARIANT and it will give the report name in the field VARI-REPORT.
If you have same variant for the other reports, then it will shows the list of reports which the same variant name.
I am working on ECC 5.0 and able to see this table.

Mobile service can also support HTML/JavaScript. This article helps you to get a basic idea of how to use the Windows Azure Mobile Service in HTML/JavaScript applications.
Let us start with a Quick startup project provided by Microsoft. A Quick startup is a simple demo project that can help us to understand how to use the Windows Azure Mobile Service with HTML/JavaScript. So let's start from the Quick startup project.
Login into in the Windows Azure portal and use the following procedure.
This article assumes you already have a Windows Azure account and the mobile service is enabled in your account.
1. Create a new Windows Azure Mobile Service
Click on the +New button from the left corner and select Compute -> Mobile Service and then click on the "Create" button.
The Windows Azure portal popup creates a mobile service wizard when you click the Create button. Windows Azure asks you to enter the mobile service name as shown in the following image:
Select the database options and region for your mobile service and click on the "Next" button.
Once your mobile service is successfully created, the portal will show all your mobile services as shown in the following images.
Ok! We have created a new mobile service successfully. Let's move to our subsequent steps.
1. Quick startup Project

replaceWithoutSep" data-gr-id="83" id="83">step</g> the user must register their website name in the Cross-origin resource sharing (CORS). By default, "localhost" is added by the Windows Azure Mobile Service

The user can add as many website domain names as needed.

How to use the same services-config for the local and remote servers.

My flex project works fine using the below but when I upload my flash file to the server I doesn't work, all the relative paths and files are the same execpt the remote one is a linux server.

I think the problem is the line
        <endpoint uri="http://localhost/domainn.org/amfphp/gateway.php" class="flex.messaging.endpoints.AMFEndpoint"/>
but I'm not sure how to use the same services-config for the local and remote servers.

In Flex, there is feature that lets developer to put all service-config.xml file configuration information into swf file. with
-services=path/to/services-config.xml
IF
services-config.xml
have tokens in it and user have not specified additional
-context-root
and this swf file is not served from web-app-server (like tomcat for example) than it will not work,
Flash player have no possible way to replace token values of service-config.xml file durring runtime if that service-config.xml file have been baked into swf file during compilation,
for example during development you can launch your swf file from your browser with file// protocol and still be able to access blazeDS services if
-services=path/to/services-config.xml
have been specified durring compilation.
I dont know any better way to exmplain this, but in summary there is two places that you can tell swf about service confogiration,
1) pass -services=path/to/services-config.xml parameter to compiler this way you tell swf file up front about all that good stuff,
or 2) you put that file on the webserver( in this case, yes you should have replacement tokens in that file) and they will be repaced at runtime .

I followed Mihai Corlan's tutorial (http://corlan.org/2008/11/13/flex-and-php-remoting-with-zend-amf/) to create a remote service with Zend AMF, and it works great.
But, I can't figure out how to use multiple RemoteObjects. I keep getting the infamous:
faultCode:Client.Error.DeliveryInDoubt faultString:'Channel disconnected' faultDetail:'Channel disconnected
before an acknowledgement was received'
I set up my second RemoteObject the same way that I set up my first one. But, I can't get it to work.
Any suggestions? Has anyone seen examples of multiple services being used?

We are trying to populate a prompt programmatically.
Our program is a Web Services Consumer.
As an example we use Island Resorts Marketing
The cascading LOV for City is
Country -> Region -> City
The City object is key-aware to the customer table
The query is
Customer | Revenue
(where) City = [prompt]
In order to make the key-awareness work, we must select the value (rowIndex) from the LOV
When we run our program below, the LOV for City is not populated, as expected since we must first select the Country, then the Region.
The code snippet below shows that the LOV for Country is populated. We have no idea how to go from there.
Any hint will be immensely appreciated.
Let us know if anything is unclear in the code.

How to create a variant used in SM30,View variant in Parameter transaction?

Dear Team,
I have a view V_TCURR. For which I would be creating a parameter transaction for transaction SM30 by filling the default Values section (VIMDYNFLDS-LTD_DTA_VR, VIEWNAME,TVIMV-VARIANT). The values for first two fields are obvious.
The question is on TVIMV-VARIANT How can we create a variant which can be used in tcode SM30.
Delving a little deeper show that these variants Obsolete since R/3 Release 3.1I: Selection variant for a table or maintenance view.
Since R/3 Release 4.0, there are view variants instead of selection variants.
The field only exists for reasons of backwards compatibility.
If thats is so, How do I use the same in parameter transaction..?
I have tried creating a view variant and use it parameter transaction but in vain..
Please help resolve my problem. I hope I am very clear. If still need any clarification, please get back to me.

But when I run the tcode which was created by view variant created, I am not getting the desired details .

How to use user-defined packages in JAX-RPC web service

I am trying to use Object of my class located in my package in jax-rpc webservice,the code is

Temp is located in Hello package,I have jar the Hello package as Hello.jar and has set its classpath in targets.xml of Ant tool.
The code compiles well and service is deployed successfully,but when i try to call the service from the client its gives me following error.

I don't know if your error is about a missing class from your custom package, ... what track did you followed to say that?
To use your package in the implementation of you web service, you should only follow the rules of making a web application: put your package jar in your \lib directory inside WEB-INF/ or your package classes unjared in classes (also in WEB-INF/).
As I already said, I have doubts that your error should be originated from a missing class from your package, but:
-try to see the logs (errors?) when you deploy your web service that could give a hint about the problem.
-try to see if you can access your endpoint through your browser to see if there is a online status
-display your config/WSDL file, and the steps you did to build your web service.
