How to use the 'Decision between multiple alternatives' Process variant

Hi ,
Can anyone tell me how to use the 'Decision between multiple alternatives' Process variant in BI 7 Process chains ?
The requuirement is that I have a DSO eg DSO 1 from which i have to load DSO 2 and DSO 3 . Now if the number of Records in DSO 1 are < 100 i will load DSO 2 from DSO 1 else i will load DSO 3 from DSO 1 .
So in the PC i have used a 'ABAP Program' variant (which counts the number of rows in DSO 1) after loading DSO 1 and after this 'ABAP Program' Variant , i have used the 'Decision between multiple alternatives' Process variant. Problem is it is giving me only some some system fields in the formula , like sy-datum or sy-timlo , which are of no use here .
It would be great if i can receive some help here .

in RSPC you create a ABAP processing type "ending with specific values".
We use true or false for things as you specify.
your abap program should return a true or a false to indicate which of the situations is applicable.

Decision between multiple alternatives process type

Hi All,
I want to use this process type "decision between multiple alternatives" in one of my process chains, but i want use this process type if the DELTA infopackage pulls ZERO records, skip the next process and more than ZERO records continue the process.
Please suggest me is it possible anyway.

Hi,
You can't do it with Decision type process as the conditions allowed are standard System conditions. As Suggested above, you need a code before that. The logic can be sketched as :
1. Load the provider.
2. Obtain the latest request in the provider.
3. Get the data from the request (std SAP prog is available for reading from providers).
4. Raise error upon getting no data (in this case you need to put the steps to be skipped in another chain and use in the main chain as meta chain).

Decision Between Multiple Alternatives in Process Chain

Hello all!
I wanted to use the process type "Decision Between Multiple Alternatives" in a process chain, so than i can choose wich DTPs will be executed. I was wondering to use the Function "PREDECESSOR_PARAMETER (<I_FIELDNAME>, <I_LOW_OR_HIGH>, <I_NUMBER_OF_VALUE>)" to get a parameter from an ABAP program step, but i do not know which I_FIELDNAME parameter should i use to receive the parameter. Did anyone use this logic or something similar? Do you think there are better ways of doing this?

Decision between multiple alternatives -question

Hello all,
I have some doubts about process Decision between Multiple Alternatives, from RSPC transaction.
The problem is like this:
1. I have one main process chain.
2. I have the process decision between multiple alternatives, in this main chain, after start.
I choosed formula and I put an if (as in the code below). Then I put the WORKINGDAY_MONTH
In it I want to test to have the 19-th working day of the current month , factory calender ' 01'.
If I have this day I want , I want to raise an event.
IF( WORKINGDAY_MONTH( Current Date, '01', '' ) = 19, 'ZEVENT_WD', 'ZEVENT_ERROR' )
This event would be usefull so I can start with it a second chain(inserted in the main chain).
The system says (when I check my formula) that it is sintactically correct, but incomplete.
Any clues why this message apears ?
I don't know if it is ok to put the events like that in my IF (one to start the subchain and one as error).

Can i use the function like this
MONTH_QUARTER1( '0calmonth' ) = 1 where 0calmonth is a infobject either in DSO or cube.
When I checked , syntax is correct.
Can anyone tell me whether I can use the infobject like ocalmonth or 0calday.

This will work. You cannot use 0CALDAY directly because the data needs to be in the format YYYYMM. So, 0CALMONTH will work directly, but 0CALDAY will need to be converted first:
MONTH_QUARTER1( DATE_MONTH( 0CALDAY) )

I have defined a POWL query which executes properly. But if I map the same POWL query to 2 portal users and the 2 portal users try to access the same page simultaneously then it gives an error message to one of the users that
"Query 'ABC' is already open in another session."
where 'ABC' is the query name.
Can you please tell me how to use the same POWL query for multiple users ?

Batch processing usually involves using actions you have recorded. In Action you can insert Path that can be used during processing documents. Path have some size so you may want to only process document that have the same size. Look in the Actions Palette fly-out menu for insert path. It inserts|records the current document work path into the action being worked on and when the action is played it inserts the path into the document as the current work path..

I would appreciate it as kind of respect for forum participants if you would clean up your VI before uploading it (or images of its block diagram)…
That being said:
- Your inner while loops each run exactly twice. Replace them with FOR loops!
- Lots of unneeded operations, mainly induced by ExpressVI usage. Is there a reason to convert to DDT and immediately convert back to 1D array?
- You already calculate some Min/Max values. Ratio is just a division of two values…

You should post this into the LabVIEW forum rather than Real-Time since this isn't a Real-Time application. Your post will see more replies in the LabVIEW forum.
As far as your question is concerned, you can write the max and min from the respective loops to a local variable to send the data out of the loops to a third loop or just do the calculation in one of the loops. This would be ideal if you're trying to do this while the loop is running.

Sorry to reopen an old post, but I've just purchased a 2nd hand late-2013 iMac (or so thats what the seller said).
I'm always sceptical though, and just wanted to know if there is a way to check if my iMac is indeed the late-2013 model that included Haswell?
I've attached screenshots of the About This Mac section hoping it may help shed some light.

JNI - How to use the error reporting mechanism?

I've developed a C++ DLL which is loaded from a commercial Win32 application (not written by me) as a plug-in for external calculations. On its initialization the C++ DLL launches the Java VM via the JNI invocation interface. When the DLL functions are called by the application, they forward the calls to Java objects inside the Java VM, again via JNI invocation interface.
This works well, but I have encountered a weird error.
From Java I open a JFrame containing a JTextArea as small console for debug output messages. If I turn output to this debug console off (my printToConsole routine checks whether a boolean flag is set), the string concatenation operator may lead to a crash of the Java VM.
For example, if in one of the Java functions called from the
DLL via JNI invocation interface the following is the first statement,
it leads to a crash of the Java VM and the application that loaded the C++ proxy DLL.

Interestingly, if I comment this statement out, the Java code works fine WITHOUT any crash. I've already thought about potential races and synchronization issues in my code, but I don't see where this is the case. And the string concatenation error fails as well, if I insert sleep() statements in front of it and at other places in the code. However, if I turn on log messages printed to my JFrame debug console (containing a JTextArea), the String concatenation works without problems.
So maybe the JNI interface has a bug and affects the Java VM; I don't see where my JNI code is wrong.
One problem is that I do not get any stdout output, as the C++ proxy DLL is loaded by the Windows application, even if I start the Windows application from the DOS command line (under Windows).
Does anyone know how to use the error reporting mechanism?

Is it possible that the JVM, when it crashes, writes debug information about the crash into a file instead of stdout/stderr?
My C++ proxy DLL was compiled in debug mode, but the commercial application (which loaded the DLL) is very likely not.

Yes, I've initially thought about errors in the C++ code too. But the C++ code is actually very simple and short. It doesn't allocate anything on the C++ side. It allocates a couple of ByteBuffers inside the Java VM however via JNI invocation interface calls of env->NewDirectByteBuffer(). The native memory regions accessed via the ByteBuffers are allocated not by my own C++ code, but by the program that calls my DLL (the program is Metastock).
The interesting thing is that everything works fine if output to my debug console is enabled, which means that in the Java print routine getConsoleLoggingState() returns true and text is appended to the jTextArea.

Only if output to the JTextArea is turned off (ie. getConsoleLoggingState()==false), the crash happens when the FIRST statement in the Java routine called via JNI invocation interface is a (useless) String concatenation operation, as described above.

Moreover, the crash happens BEFORE the allocated ByteBuffer objects are accessed in the Java code. But again, if console output is turned on, it works stable. If console output is turned off, it works when the (useless) String concatenation operation is removed in the Java routine called from C++.
I've already thought about potential races (regarding multiple threads), but this can be ruled out in my case. It almost appears as if the JVM can have problems when called by the invocation interface (I tested it with Java 1.4.2 b28).
All the calls between C++ and Java go ALWAYS in the direction from C++ code to Java. Unfortunately, there is no special JRE version with extensive logging capabilities to facilitate debugging. And the problem is not easily reproducible either.

So you have multiple fields, but on at least one of them if it's valid you immediately want to execute the query?
You could create a hidden field in a control block Query_Now default 'N'. In a WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM on your item, if it's determined to be valid, then set Query_Now to 'Y'.
In a WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE at block level, check if Query_Now is 'Y'. If it is then execute the query (and set it back to 'N').
