How to use the Java embedding activity in BPel

hi all,
How to use the java embedding activity in BPEL
pls can u provide sample example

1 Use [Oracle BPEL Process Manager Client Java API Reference|http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28986/overview-summary.html] and especially [com.collaxa.cube.engine.ext|http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28986/com/collaxa/cube/engine/ext/BaseBPELXExecLet.html]
Instead of System.Out.println use addAuditTrailEntry(java.lang.String message)
2. If you want to import a package write in code (Source View) of bpel process
+<bpelx:exec import="package_name"/>+ for example +<bpelx:exec import="java.util.regex.Matcher"/>+
example 1:
String bodyAsString;
StringBuffer myStringBuffer = new StringBuffer();
try {
bodyAsString = (String)getVariableData("BodyString");
addAuditTrailEntry("bodyAsString1: "+ bodyAsString);
Pattern pattern = Pattern.compile("goodDay");
Matcher matcher= pattern.matcher(bodyAsString);
while (matcher.find()) {
matcher.appendReplacement(myStringBuffer, "shitDay");
matcher.appendTail(myStringBuffer);
bodyAsString = myStringBuffer.toString();
addAuditTrailEntry("bodyAsString2: "+ bodyAsString);
} catch (Exception ex) {
addAuditTrailEntry("Failed+bodyAsString",ex.getMessage());
I put in code (Source View) the following
<bpelx:exec import="java.util.regex.Matcher"/>
<bpelx:exec import="java.util.regex.Pattern"/>
example2:
Object temp;
try {
temp = ((XMLElement)getVariableData("inputVariable","payload","/ns2:FiscalisMessage/ns2:Body")).getChildNodes().item(1);
setVariableData("AdjReceipt",temp);
addAuditTrailEntry("ok",temp.toString());
catch (Exception ex) {
addAuditTrailEntry("Failed :",ex);
I put in code (Source View) the following
<bpelx:exec import="oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLElement"/>

    Could not invoke: "GTM servlet URL" with verb: POST and context: null

  • How to use the validations and exceptions  in BPEL

    Hi,
    How to use the validations and exceptions in BPEL.
    pls provide one sample example to give the exceptions and validations in BPEL

    Hi,
    For example you can create a simple BPEL Process and you can throw an error during running process. If input data is not valid and format is not correct you can throw error using throw activity and using catch activity you can catch particular error. The catch-all will handle all the error occurred with the scope.
    you can also refer faulthandling section in the link for more information related to exception handling.

  • Issue with java embedding activity in bpel 2.0

    Hi.
    I tried the following code inside BPEL 2.0
    <extensionActivity>
    <bpelx:exec name="MillitoDate" language="java">
    <import location="java.text.DateFormat" importType="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension/java"/>
    <import location="java.text.SimpleDateFormatt" importType="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension/java"/>

    <import location="java.util.*" importType="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension/java"/>
    <import location="java.lang.*" importType="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension/java"/>
    <import location="java.io.**" importType="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension/java"/>
    <![CDATA[
    DateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss.SSS");
    Calendar calendar = Calendar.getInstance();
    long now = 1365523483000L;
    calendar.setTimeInMillis(now);
    String s=formatter.format(calendar.getTime());
    setVariableData("outputVariable","payload","/client:processResponse/client:result",s);
    ]]>
    </bpelx:exec>
    </extensionActivity>
    But, I am getting following error while deploying "the exception reported is: java.lang.RuntimeException: failed to compile execlets of CleanupProcess". Also, i Tried adding try catch block but no succèss, thé same code is working perfectly in java project.

    Hello Rolando Carrasco,
    Thank for responding my question. I figure out the issue. It is because we need to import the java API's what we are using in the java embedding.
    Thank you,

  • How to use the TreeControl's active item indent level

    I am trying to query the indent level of an item in a TreeControl when I double-click the item.  I have an event structure that captures the double-click event.  In the handler, I read the Active Item:Indent Level property but it returns an error:
    Error 1135 occurred at Property Node (arg 1) in Viewer Main.vi
    Possible reason(s):
    LabVIEW:  The tree control's active item is not valid for this property.
    Property Name: Active Item:Indent Level
    Does anyone have code to show how to access the indent level for the Active Item?
    Thanks,
    -cb

    smercurio_fc,
    I may not be using the control properties correctly.  The help for Active Item:Indent Level indicates that it will return the Item Indent value for the active selected tree item.  The indent level indicates the depth in the tree at which the item exists.  For instance, a value of 2 indicates that the item is a Child of a Child of a Root node.  When I try to access the property, I get an error.  I have attached a simple VI (8.2.1) that shows the error and the basics of how I was trying to use it.  Can you point out my error or provide a corrected VI?
    Thank you,

    Hi,
    please make sure that the initial receive (first activity) in the process has set the "createInstance" Flag. Can you check this? Can you briefly describe the process (like: receive -> assign -> switch -> branch1 -> java embedded ...)?

  • Want to Generate custom logs with Log4J within Java Embedding activity

    Hi Gurus,
    i want to Generate custom logs with Log4J within Java Embedding activity. For that i have performed some steps, but the log file has not been created.
    ServerSide Configuration:
    *===============*
    1. I have copied the log4j-1.2.15.jar file to the "oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1" location and recreate the oracle.soa.ext.jar file using an-script, which appends the log4j.jar file to the classpath.( That was created successfully)
    2. Specify a File location in log4j.xml for creating the log file. (e.g. (<middleware_home>/config/customLog.log)
    3. Then create a folder and add log4j.xml and log4j.dtd file under the folder.
    4. Modify the startManagedWeblogicServer by adding JAVA_OPTIONS="-Dlog4j.configuration=<middleware_home>/config/log4j.debug.xml”
    5. Then restart the SOA server.
    log4j.xml :
    I have used fileAppender.
    DevelopmentSide Configuration:
    *===================*
    1. Create synchronous BPEL process and Add "JAVA Embedding Activity" inbetween receiveInput and replyOutput activity.
    2.Import the log4j-1.2.15.jar to the project libs
    3.In the BPEL source code, import the Logger class.
    4.Insert the code in the JAVA Embedding Activity
    Logger logger = Logger.getLogger("CustomLog");
    logger.info("CustomeLog " + getTitle());
    Compile and deploy the project into the SOA_server and test it. Test status is completed but log is not created in the mentioned location.

    Is there any other way to achieve this requirement. Please suggest.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sharmistha

    You can try this.

  • Java Embedded Activity in SOA 11g

    Hi all,
    I am using a java embedded activity in SOA 11.1.1.3. Please find below the code inside embedded activity.
    <bpelx:exec name="FormatXML" language="java"
    version="1.5">
    <![CDATA[try{
    //Element originalNode=(Element)getVariableData('Invoke_SendInvoiceToB2B_Enqueue_InputVariable','Invoice');
    String myDoc=(String)getVariableData("myDoc");
    String finalDoc="<pidx:"myDoc.substring(1,myDoc.length()-9)"pidx:Invoice>";
    Element node =
    DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance().newDocumentBuilder().parse(new ByteArrayInputStream(new String(finalDoc).getBytes())).getDocumentElement();
    setVariableData("Invoke_SendInvoiceToB2B_Enqueue_InputVariable","Invoice",node);
    catch(Exception e)
    addAuditTrailEntry(e.getMessage());
    }]]>
    </bpelx:exec>
    Here i am making use of classes like Element,DocumentBuilderFactory, ByteArrayInputStream.
    Can anyone provide me the list of jars/library files required to be used and also the bpel import statements?
    I really stuck here as i am not able to compile the code. Following is the error message
    Error(20,45): Failed to compile bpel generated classes.
    failure to compile the generated BPEL classes for BPEL process "FormatXSL" of composite "default/FormatXSL!1.0"
    The class path setting is incorrect.
    Ensure that the class path is set correctly. If this happens on the server side, verify that the custom classes or jars which this BPEL process is depending on are deployed correctly. Also verify that the run time is using the same release/version.
    Your inputs woud be highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Here i am making use of classes like Element,DocumentBuilderFactory, ByteArrayInputStream.
    You need to make sure that u add all the necessary java packages above the <bpelx:exec name="FormatXML" language="java" version="1.5"> tag in the below manner in the source tab.
    <bpelx:exec import="org.w3c.dom.Element"/>
    <bpelx:exec import="java.io.ByteArrayInputStream"/>
    <bpelx:exec import="javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory"/>
