Can any one tell how to use views in sql script report?

Most of the views are based on tables (or other views which are based on tables).
The view typically shows one org at a time based on the context that is set.
If you need records for all orgs, you need to use the underlying tables. Oracle typically names the tables with a _all suffix.
e.g. PO_HEADERS will show records for one org at a time. PO_HEADERS_ALL will show records for all orgs.

Problem while executing script in Toad - How to use '&' in the sql script ?

I have to execute sql script in toad. Sql script has one insert query in which one insert-value is 'USA & CAN'. When I executed the script in toad by pressing F5, I got a prompt window asking for the value if 'CAN' as it is after the &.
I tried using[b] {escape '\' } .... but could not resolve the problem.
Is there any solution or workaround to overcome this problem. I have thousands of records with such values and I have to use sql script only.

There is an option in TOAD to change this behaviour.
Look in VIEW/OPTIONS/SQL Editor/
Uncheck the box for "Scan statements for bound variables before execution".
In SQL*PLUS it would be SET SCAN OFF
(desupported version is SET DEFINE OFF)

I am performing Homogeneous System copy using backup/restore method.I have taken QA system backup ie dump files and trying to build on Sandbox system for testing purpose.Everything went fine and was able to load the dump but stuck at one of the point and throwing me error

When I checked the sapinst_dev log I found the below error but not able to fix it and not aware to proceed further

The proposed new db owner already is a user in the database or owns the database.

I am sure these may be small changes that have to be made by changing the db owner and Im not exactly sure how to perform it.
Note:I am Using the Windows environment with Sybase ase database and SWPM tool to perform.

You can create an environment variable called "SQLPATH" which is a list of directories that SQL*Plus will search for your .SQL
scripts.

Save odm_script.sql file to the default Oracle
directory i.e. Oracle-Home/bin and Run following command
through SQL Plus.
SQL>@Script_Name

How to use "advanced" tab in user reports?
I have two reports. I fill "Report ID" in both and then I can push "Add Report" and fill fields property.
Then I'm can "drill" from one report to another on right click, but how to pass parameters?

I can't get it working.
I have two reports:
1. report:

SQL: select 1 NUM, 'text' TEXT from dual;
On advanced tab:
ReportID: -null-
Name: test2
Report: Test2
2. report
Name: test2
SQL: select :NUM from dual;
Now, when I run the first report and click do right click on a row and select TEST2
from popup menu, it navigates to the second report test2, but WITHOUT actual value
from NUM column from first report.
I'm using latest version of SQL Developer (1.1.1.25) and I like reports.
With this feature it would be even better.

You can create an SQL command in Database Expert > Expand your datasource > Add command
Then enter the SQL query that will create the list of values to supply to the user
eg select field1,field2 from table
Then edit the parameter of the report. These will be the SP parameters adn can be seen in field explorer.
Change the parameter type to Dynamic
Under the word Value click on Click here to add item
Scroll down to your Command and select one of the values that you want to appear in the list
e.g field1
Then click on the Parameters field - this is essential to create the param
You can edit other options as required
That should do it for you.
I must say that i use CR 2008 connected to Oracle 10g SP, but i reckon this will work for SQL DB and CR XI as well

You just copy the code from one page and paste into another. If you are having problems, you need to be more specific about what is not working.

How to Use views of one report to other reports

I have so many reports with same views like static text, header & footer .
My question is: I have created these views on some reports which are same to all reports as i said. Now i want to use these views from the existed reports without creating once again which takes long time to ensure that size and color everything should be same for all reports for those views.
Can any body give an idea how to make use the views of one report to other reports...?

When we use SharePoint list as datasource in SSRS it has two method to add parameter. Suppose we have a dataset (DataSet1) get data from SharePoint list. Please refer to the methods below.
Method 1: We can add parameter in the Query Designer dialog box to add parameter.
Click “Add Filter” icon in the “Applied filters” dialog box in Query Designer.
Select the corresponding field (Title), fill with specific conditions, and select Parameter option in the end of the row.
Create a dataset (DataSet2) fill with Title field.
Double click the parameter we create above, set the available values from DataSet2 field Title.
(Note: In the situation, we are get the single-value parameter.)
Method 2: It is a general method to add parameter in SSRS report.
Create another dataset (DataSet2) in the report fill with Title field.
Add a parameter (Title) get available values from DataSet2 Title field.
Add filter in the DataSet1.
(Note: This method, we can configure multi-values parameter.)

How to use/embed PL/SQL in OMBPlus?

I want to use PL/SQL-code in OMBPlus scripts. How can I do that?
In the special case, I want to run requests on tables and views (like IV_ALL_OBJECTS) of the repository owner and use these results (e.g. objectnames) in OMBPlus.

I tried calling sqlplus with a PL/SQL script from OMBPlus. But OMBPlus hangs up totally then, even on very simple pl/sql statements in the script.
So I was looking for using JDBC. In OWB installation subfolders there is a jdbc library. But there are problems to set up java clathpathes for it. :(. Direct usage like [java::call oracle.jdbc....] seems not to work.
Has anyone an idea, how I can use JDBC in OMBPlus?
