Help !! how to redeploy only an ejb using weblogic.Deployer ?
Hi everyone, how to redeploy only one ejb (not the entire application) using weblogic.Deployer ? I executed the following command and getting wiered error !!! :
java weblogic.Deployer -adminurl http://myadmin:7000 -username system -password weblogic -name myApp.ear -activate -targets testEJB.jar@jytServer -source myApp.ear
I am getting the following error :
weblogic.management.ApplicationException:
[J2EE:160043]Missing deployment descriptor "META-INF/application.xml" at myApp.ear".
The ear file very much contains the application.xml under META-INF directory and in the application.xml, there is an entry for myBean.jar.
However if i try the following command, it will redeploy the EJB but it will deploy it as a separate application :
java weblogic.Deployer -adminurl http://myadmin:10720 -username system -password weblogic -targets jytServer deploy testEJB.jar
But I want to redeploly it as a part of .ear application.
I would highly appreicate your help. (assume that admin console access is denied and i will have to use weblogic.Deployer to redeploy).
thanks,
jyothiWhere do I specify the order of deployment? I have 2 EJB jar files and Web module, the order need to be Web module first, 2 EJB then EAR. In WebSphere it is defined in Deployment.xml file, where do I define Deployment.xml in WebLogic

Need help using weblogic.Deployer to refresh a webapp
I'm trying to refresh some jsp from a webapp deployed in exploded format
in WLS 8.1SP3
The original source files are not located on the machine or filesystem
running the admin server (the webapp is deployed on a cluster)
On WLS 6.1SP5, we use weblogic.refresh to upload the files to the admin
server and redeploy the refreshed files.
The documentation suggest to use weblogic.Deployer with WLS8.1 since
weblogic.refresh is deprecated.
I couldn't find the correct command line options to reproduced the
weblogic.refresh behaviour. Apparently it is not possible to upload the
files to the admin server and redeploy in a single step. weblogic.Deployer
expects the file to be already available to the admin server before
issuing the redeploy (using rsync, ftp or whatever). Is this correct ?
What did I miss ?
Using M2, Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/m2/I thought you've got error of another type - that error is fixed by simple software update.
Regarding your case - it's always frightening in first time. Believe me - there's completely nothing to be afraid of.
Resizing C drive may result killing your DATA on it only in case of energy is down during the process. Process is taking about 15-20 minutes on slow programs and about 3-4 minutes on fast programs. That means that even having problems with electricity you'll be able to finish everything correctly running on battery.
I'd recommend using Acronis Disk director Suite, but it is not free. One of the best free progs for that are bootable Linux livecds PartedMagic and GParted. They're all intuitive understandable.
You will get your NOVO recovery feature lost after C resize, but you can enable it later, replacing that factory backup in hidden partition with your own backup - your NOVO button will restore your system with all your software and settings.
it will be good for you to start with some basic principles on partitions organization schemes - why, what for and how questions are briefly explained here. After reading this you'll be able to ask right questions to get right answers.

How to use a deployable proxy to consume a web service?
HI Gurus,
I am following this article below which helpfully explains how to create a proxy. So far so good. I have been able to create a proxy. However, the article only describes how to build a proxy.
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70c7d0f7-153d-2a10-5d96-d334b67cd771
In the concluding part of the document the author says "In my next article I will tell you how to use this deployable proxy to consume the web service in web application."
I have looked around the SDN but have not been able to get the next part of this document.
I have a JSPDynpage application which is required to consume a webservice. I want to use this proxt to consume the webservice.
Any help or any other document that explains how to use a deployable proxy to consume a web service will be helpful.
Thanks,
SBHi,
Here is an example how to consume the deployable proxy in web application:

Using weblogic.deployer to deploy multiple files?
Is there way, when using the weblogic.deployer, to specify multiple files to be deployed in one command? I see the filelist for redeploy, but is there a way to deploy/undeploy multiple files in one command?
Thanks.Having the users folder on a separate partitions is a bad idea because the Windows Setup was not really designed for it, it's more of a afterfix. In addition to that the deployment solutions in general have problem dealing with multiple partions.
Put it this way - The big warning text in the WAIK documentation about redirecting the users folder to another drive is there for a reason. It will break future offline servicing.
It doesn't mean it can't be done, it just means it will take you three times (at least) longer to setup/troubleshoot your deployment solution, and you will be in a world of pain the next time you want to re-image the machine.
This quote from a good friend of mine (Andreas Hammarskjold) describes it very well:
Generally I would always recommend to only have ONE partition these days. Going down the route of making multiple partitions is like having multiple wives/girlfriends/lovers… it’s all fun and games for a while but ends with disaster

How to use weblogic.jspc -J option
Can anyone give me an example on how to use the
weblogic.jspc -J option? Specifically, I want
my "-compilerclass" to use a system property
which will be specified on the command line.
For example:
java ... weblogic.jspc ... -compilerclass MyCompilerClass -Dmy.text="hello world"
or something to that effect.
Gary F.
Fast Track Systems, Inc.
-J only seems to work for -X-style arguments to the VM, i.e. you can say
"-Jms64m".
-compiler has been broken for a while (see my other post in this group on
that).

Redeploy using weblogic.Deployer in Weblogic 9.2
Need some help.
We have an application currently running in Weblogic Server 8.1. We have a utility program that we built using Ant Installer that works great that we have been using for a year now to update our WLS 8.1 application. Basically this utility program allows us to easily shutdown specific managed servers, upload our zipped up application, extract it in exploded directory, update some XML files, redeploy using "weblogicDeployer -remote -redeploy etc." and restart the managed servers.
Now for WLS 9.2, we can't get the weblogic.Deployer -redeploy option to work. I've tried leaving managed servers running, stopping deployment and redeploying but the redeploy fails. Has anyone done this before in 9.2? If so, I would like to know the exact steps from start to finish. I've read all the docs on the BEA site, entered the commands exactly as given, but still no luck. One more thing, this is NOT a versioned application.
ThanksHi,
I would guess you are using WebLogic ant task, is this correct?
Are you positive you are not trying to use the WL 8.1 ant task on a WL 9.0 server? If this is the case, try using the WL 9.0 ant task.

How to use weblogic.logging classes in 6.0
Hi,
We developed a number of logging classes under 5.1. One used
weblogic.logging.LogOutputStream to write messages out to the log. This
code no longer works under WLS 6.0. Everything compiles and runs but I
don't see any of our messages in any of the log files. Judging from the 6.0
JavaDoc, it looks like LogOutputStream is no longer supported. So I
switched over to using NonCatalogLogger. Same results - no output in the
logs.
What am I missing?
Thanks.
-brianMy coding error. weblogic.logging.* classes work just fine in 6.0 (he said
sheepishly)!

How to use weblogic.Admin to set JMS ErrorDestination property on WLS 7?
This thread is talking about using weblogic.Admin to set the ErrorDestination property.
http://forums.bea.com/bea/thread.jspa?threadID=200036378&messageID=202187327&start=0
We run the script against the WLS 7.0 server, script get 'OK' result but it didn't work (property wasn't set). Some error is reported in the admin.log on the server.
We also run the scipt against the WLS 8 server. It worked perfectly.
Does anyone know whether this works at all on WLS 7?The reason we are using weblogic.Admin is that we are using conf2admin to generate the scripts. weblogic.Admin seems to be the only option for WLS7. Thanks for your suggestion and will definitely check out WLST.

WLS 8.1: weblogic.Deployer + concurrent deployment tasks
Hello,
We have a domain with 4 managed servers which supports a team of 4 developers
(one per managed). They have the possibility to launch Deploy taks using weblogic.Deployer
on one of the managed servers.
We have found that deployment tasks are executed one by one in the Administrative
instance. So when a developer creates a deploy task he has to wait until all pending
deployment tasks end.
¿Is it possible to have three deployment tasks running at the same time instead
of one by one? If it is ¿What should I do to activate it?
Thanks in advance,
OscarOscar:
Take thread dumps when your deploying. You can post the thread dumps here.
Lets see what is taking so long to deploy. You'll want to take multiple
dumps, say 20 seconds apart, say 5 in a row. Remember they go to
std-out/err so you need to capture that data. Also it would be nice if you
cut out all the uninteresting idle threads. Are you not precompiling and
running ejbc (appc) before hand?
Cheers
mbg

This domain is more an integration environment rather than a developmentenvironment.

The idea is that each developer has its own weblogic domain in their localmachine
in which he develops the application (code, debug, deploy, ...).
He has also a user in a UNIX box, in which there is a domain (applicationintegration
domain) with a managed instance per department. With this user he has someAnt
tasks from where they can deploy (using weblogic.Deployer) a stablerelease of
their application to test the dependant functionality.
The problemm is that some applications (using 100 EJBs and 1 War --> 40MBin exploded
ear and 9MB in compressed ear) take more than 5 minutes to deploy in amanaged
instance and so they produce a stuck in the task queue. During this timethe Administrative
is waiting all the time and the managed instance is deploying theapplication
module by module ¿is there any way to decrease this time? ¿is there anyway to
do it asynchronously without blocking the task queue? That time looks abig high
and taking into account that we are going to have bigger applicationshaving only
one deployment task activated each time looks dangerous. ¿What is aboutincreasing
the admin threads? The task has done all the job in administrative side,so ¿why
wait to the managed server?
We have also note that sometimes waiting tasks produce an unavailabilitystate
in the deployment queue. We have found 4 deployment tasks waiting in the queue,
and after an hour the first deployment task was not finished (maybe in adeadlock)
and so the other 3 deployment tasks were waiting. Is this situation theunique
possibility to solve the problemm is restarting the Administrative (usinga kill
command, shutdown command never ends) ¿What could we do?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Oscar

Deployer may initiate tasks on individual MS's it always goes THROUGH
the AS
and it process's requests serially. This ensures the stability of the
system, allowing multiple changes to cascade through the system at the
same
time.
Is there a reason why you don't have every dev using their own WLS box?

Hello,
We have a domain with 4 managed servers which supports a team of4
developers
(one per managed). They have the possibility to launch Deploy taksusing
weblogic.Deployer
on one of the managed servers.
We have found that deployment tasks are executed one by one in theAdministrative
instance. So when a developer creates a deploy task he has to waituntil
all pending
deployment tasks end.
¿Is it possible to have three deployment tasks running at the sametime
instead
of one by one? If it is ¿What should I do to activate it?
Thanks in advance,

java weblogic.Admin -url ins2d.med.ge.com:9010 -username USERNAME -password PASSWORD PING -verbose
In weblogic 8.1 the class weblogic/transaction/internal/TransactionHelperImpl used to be present in wljtaclient.jar but i can't locate the class anywhere in weblogic 10.3/server/lib. Kindly let me know how to use weblogic.Admin utility on weblogic 10.3Hi,
First I ran the setDomainEnv.cmd script to set the environment and then executed the weblogic.Admin command and it worked for me.
D:\wls103\user_projects\domains\816532Local>java weblogic.Admin -adminurl t3://localhost:7010 -username weblogic -password weblogic PING
Sending 1 ping of 100 bytes.
RTT = ~16 milliseconds, or ~16 milliseconds/packet
