Hi,
How to Validate a User on the click of a button in Oracle APEX.
say for e.g: I want to allow only a specific user to go beyond after clicking on a button and restrict all the other Users. Any ideas please.

Well , the actual idea was to hide the button for specific users and show the button only for some specific users... is this possible...?

We are using Oracle Applications Express 3.2 on oracle database 10.2.0.5 on solaris environment.
One of our report contains total no of rows 50000. when we ran report by default it is showing 15 and i can go search and change display no of rows to different numbers and click go.
My question is it possible to display all 50000 rows during first time report launching without going to change rows. Is there any option that we can set how many number of rows that we can display during report design.

As vee pointed out it is possible, however the question you need to ask yourself is is it wise?
Bear in mind that displaying 50,000 rows on a single HTML page means a lot of code that must be loaded by the client browser all at once. What it will do to your page loading time? Browser memory? Network bandwidth? Also, do you really believe that it is effective to let an end user look for a specific row among 50,000 rows?

How to validate input fields as the user is filling up a form with jQuery?

Someone has experimented on how to validate input fields as the user is filling up a form with jQuery?, if the field is numeric and insert an A for example, an alert appears showing "insert a number" or not allowed to enter anything until a number is entered.

my question is "How to create many user in the same database(application)?"
for example, i have students, teachers, and staffs user using my application.
i can create many users to use the same application right?, how ^^''' ???
(right now i can only create application and then it shows every data in my DB
but i want it to show only the data for the user who login to that application)

You need to create a user table within your application that maintains their privileges. If you have LDAP you could use this for authorisation otherwise the table would handle that as well (store passwords etc). Your reports etc would then be filtered on information from this table.
Check out some of the sample applications to see how authorisation and access is implemented (Online store is one). The how-to on the issue tracking system should also have some useful pointers.

For order services, contracts and activities set object CRM_ORD_OP as I said.
For Ibase use CRM_IBASE but with this one it is not possible to set authorizations only for own ibases. Maybe there is some other object for ibases.
Also for business partner there is no such authorization object to shown only own partners. You have 2 options. To play with object B_BUPA_GRP but that means you will have to maintain group for each responsible employee. Or you implement logic in badi BADI_CRM_BP_UIU_AUTHORITY.

Hi,
There is an api wwctx_sso.cleanup_sessions which removes old sessions. This takes a parameter "p_hours_old" which indicates the age of the sessions which need to be removed. There is a job which runs which in turn calls this api to clean up sessions which are 7 days old or 168 hours old. You can see this from the dba_jobs table. You can try running this api.

However what I mean to say is that if you insert a standard button and try to excute "Apply effect" option on button th option will be greyed out.
Also you can apply the "Apply effect" option on Slide either "On Slide Enter" or "On Slide Exit" option. As what i understand from "Apply effect" option is to create an event based animation triggers using the following steps:
Select the object that is the base for the event. For example, to apply an effect to an object after a specific slide begins, select the slide.
In the Actions panel, select Apply Effect in the On Enter or On Success drop-down lists.
In the Object Name drop-down list, select the object to which you want to apply an effect.

Launching Splash Screen on the click of a button

Situation: I have an application running, and when the user clicks a button on the main menu, a new dialog opens.
Problem: This dialog takes awhile to load as it is retreiving information from the database etc ... hence I would like to launch a splash screen in one thread and the other dialog in a second thread.
Following is the Splash Screen class:

I know this is not exactly as you suggested, but when I tried the following I got a partial solution. Just wanted to know whether I am on the right track.
I wrote a small class for the thread

:When I run this in the application, the SplashScreen does indeed appear(earlier I wasn't able to see the splashScreen), and I notice (when I put a breakpoint at the pt where it calls the dialog), that it is going and creating the dialog etc, but the dialog never appears ...... after the splash screen closes, nothing else happens!
Could you please guide me on what best to do?

-> In apex page go to buttons region where list of buttons are located.
-> Select the button which you have to delete.
-> Click on "Delete" button on top of page.
-> It will ask for confirmation click "Ok" to delete that button
OR
-> In apex page go to buttons region where list of buttons are located.
-> Click on "Edit all" icon and go to "Delete multiple buttons" tab.
-> Check the buttons which yo want to delete.
-> Click on "Remove Botton" button to delete selected button

How to know which user shutdown the server

Is there a way to check which user has shutdown the server in windows server 2012.
I know Event Id : 1076,1074,6008 gives information about system shutdown.but want to know which user did that ?

Steps to see which user shutdown the system:
1. Go to event Viewer
2. Right click on system and -> Filter Current Log
3. For User Shutdowns, click downward arrow of Event Sources -> Check User32.
4. In <All Event IDs> type 1074 -> OK
This will give the list of Power off and restart events. It will have the date and time as well as Username.

Hi,
The solution proposed by Sakthi will work if you want to give to all this account the same level of security.
Once you're in the "Add User", the AD filter will show all accounts. Just select all of them and choose team / task profile .. etc in next screens.
Maybe you could create seperate domain group like BPC Admins, BPC Users.. and so on. And create customized filter for each of them. So when you add your users, just select the right AD filter and give to them the right set of security parameters.
