How to validate the field values in module pool program?

Hi Guys
 I am working with module pool programming.
 Here I want to validate the fields like below.
 with out filling all the fields if I click SAVE option it has to show a message that all fields has to be filled. This can be done by checking all the fields individually.
 I think it can be done through LOOP AT SCREEN ......ENDLOOP. sequence.
 If it is possible, can anyone help me?

You need to write the Module in between the CHAIN and ENDCHAIN statment in SE51
If you send a warning or error message from a module <mod> that you called using a FIELD statement as follows:
CHAIN.
FIELD: <f1>, <f 2>,...
MODULE <mod1>.
FIELD: <g1>, <g 2>,...
MODULE <mod2>.
ENDCHAIN.
all of the fields on the screen that belong to the processing chain (all of the fields listed in the field statements) are made ready for input again. Other fields are not ready for input. Whenever the MODULE statement appears within a processing chain, even if there is only one FIELD attached to it, all of the fields in the chain (not only the affected field) are made ready for input again, allowing the user to enter new values. If the fields in the processing chain are only checked once, the PAI processing continues directly after the FIELD statement, and the preceding modules are not called again.

How to change the logon language in module pool program?

Hello All,
I had created a module pool program and had desiged a screen.
When i am logged in English language i am able to see them in english as per the requirement it is working fine.
But the requirement is wen i am logged in DE then the selection-screen texts should show in English and not in German.
Kindly give me a solution for this.

Hi Rajesh,
This problem is because you have maintained a standard dictionary fields on selection screen and all the standard dictionary fields are maintained in DE language, on the screen layout, go to the attributes of that particular text field, there is a option MODIFIZ for dictionary fields (it is a drop down), selection F TEXT, now whatever the text u will define, it will remain same for all the languages, once u do this then u again login in DE,l u will see the text maintained by u and not the DE text.

How to capture the selected values from module pool dialog list box !

Hi experts,
Can anyone help me out in capturing the values from the list box.
i am able to set the values in the list box.But i am not able to capture the selected value from the list box. Always the list box name is getting as "space"
I also tried in using the FM "VRM_GET_VALUES" but it is retireving all the values. Is there is any flag for filttering out the selected value.

How to get the perious values in Module pool by pressing the space or back

I want to see the already entered values in the screen when ever pressing the backspace or space bar buttons..
For example in TCODE SE38 in program when i press the backspace or space bar , it is showing the perious opend programs, the same senario i want to implement . Could you please provide me with some example for this..

How to validate the field when i am populating the data cursor to block

I am populating data cursor to multi record block.
Block contain 5 items. I am populating data cursor to block for 4 items. User will enter one item value that is quantity field.
If user enter negative values and decimal points in quantity filed i need to display message to user item level.
Please do the needful how to do it.

I am new to OBPM 10g, pls tell me how to validate the fields in a presentation.
for example if we take login presentation if user enters his user name and password wrongle and submit the form. Then we need to display error message right side of the each field i.e user name and passowrd is wrong and try again.

Hi Jaya,
You can initially set the validation for empty values.. that is when the user dint enters any value and clicks on submit.
for these vadliations you need to write a method and call it on submit button click!!
secondly, you can validate for the format if required.
thirdly, you can validate against a database for the credentials. For this you need to fetch list of usernames from database and search for user entered value in that list.
Optimal query would be : if user name not null, query for pwd of the entered user name from database or file storage. if you dont get any value for pwd of given username, its incorrect user name. if you get some pwd value for username, then check against the one user entered in pwd field..
Write all this logic in a method and call on submit button click event of the login form!!

You need to calculate the total in a module of PAI (or PBO) event:
PROCESS PAI.
   LOOP.....
   ENDLOOP.
MODULE CALCULATE_TOTAL.
MODULE CALCULATE_TOTAL.
    GRAND_TOTAL = 0.
     LOOP AT ITAB,
        GRAND_TOTAL = GRAND_TOTAL + ITAB-PWB.
    ENDLOOP.
ENDMODULE.
In this way the grand total will be calculated as soon as the user presses enter or another command.
You can't insert the calculation in the loop of table control, because this loop runs the visible lines only, so it's better to calculate the total out of those loop,

If the only solution is to change the sap standard program, simply change the program, it will prompt for an access key. This key can be retrieved in the SAP support portal (service.sap.com) at keys and requests, sccr keys, register object.
Sometimes these actions are outsourced to a competence center, so maybe youre not entitled to do this, in any case ask a resident senior developer for support.

Does the customer want a screen shot or what? Please elaborate on your requirement.
Maybe you should create a smartform first, which is called when one clicks on print button. But in fact, we need a bit more info than this.

How to increase the field size in modules

Dear Oracle Team,
When we add some items in reason codes from the dictionary, it has certain limit in reason code and title. So I can increase those field size to add bigger text for title names.
I think it also applicable for the fields in other modules also. Looking your valuable support.

1. Once you add a custom field to your database, it would be made available to either your reports (BI) or your layouts in PCM.
2. When you create the custom field, you would specify the field length/type/properties. (i.e. "Char" field with 120 char field length) If you set this to one value when you create (say 120 char) and want to CHANGE it to 140 characters, you cannot do this without deleting and re-creating the custom field. I did check 14.0.3 and this continues in this version as well.
2a. Best practice is to be generous in your field sizes to avoid needing to change it later.
As I mentioned before, any default fields in the database are fixed to their set properties and the only way to change them is to submit an SR to Oracle to request the change.

   I am writing one Module Pool Program. I have one requirement like I have to put FIND, FIND+ buttons on different screens.
   I am able to do the code for normal FIND. According to my requirement I have to display one Popup when the user click on FIND button. Once he entered some value it should find all the records and all the fields and display the list of hits in another popup. This whole process should as same as in SE11 Transaction functionality.
   Example: SE11 ->Table Entries -> and click the FIND Button. I need the same functionality in my Program.
   Please let me know ASAP. If you provide some code sample it will be Great.

If you have just implemented the code for FIND I believe u need to add some little modifications for FIND+.
U need only to manage the position of the last found value, so u need to go on from that position for FIND+.
The position should have the two coordinates X (the position in the record) and Y (the number of the record):
- FOUND should start for postion = 0, 0
- FOUND+ should start for position = X, Y
