Hello all,
i hv configured a simple server-client using a TCP protocol. basically, Server replied to client request. it works fine. Now, if i would like to demonstrate the packet loss occur in the server side... how to do that? could someone provide a simple example on how this could be done?

Asp drop - First TCP packet not SYN (tcp-not-syn)

I have many tcp-not-syn:
First TCP packet not SYN (tcp-not-syn) 46841247
For sure it is not a routing issue cause ie 10.32.3.230 usually can connect to 192.168.16.2 which is a proxy server. Sometimes it can't and I get the
tcp-not-syn error. So after a capture I got the following,

syslog message says:
deny tcp (no connection) from 10.32.3.78/1646 to 192.168.16.2/8080 flags RST on interface inside
The question is how can I define it is:
1. the proxy 192.168.16.2 itself is too slow responding to the syn packet sent from the client 10.32.3.78
2. a reset is sent by the proxy 192.168.16.2 and then forwarded by the ASA to the client 10.32.3.78
3. an idle timeout tuning needed on firewall
4. anything else

Since it is a RST packet coming from client IP destined to proxy server IP on ASA's interface (of course with no associated connection in ASA state table), ASA will drop it as first tcp packet not syn.
When a packet arrives on ASA, it checks to see if it belongs to an existing flow, if not, it has to be a new connection but since SYN flag is not set here, it gets dropped under above reason code.
Now, you would probabaly want to capture the entire traffic stream from client to server on ASA interface to understand what caused those resets. May be client sent some new requests (SYN's) and proxy was too busy to respond. Again, complete capture in pcap would be needed for further analysis.

I rented a movie from ITunes yesterday and now I cannot figure out how to watch it on Apple TV. I have done this before, and to watch it later on, I would go back under the "Movies" option, find the movie, and there would be a Play option available. We did the update to Apple TV yesterday. Now when I go back to the movie, I see the original options. Preview, Rent, Buy, etc. When I click on Rent again, it says the movie has already been rented but not downloaded. It instructs me to go under Settings/Downloads/Check Downloads, but there is nothing under Settings about Downloads. I found an option to Check for Rentals, but when I click on that option, it just keeps searching, with no results. Any ideas? This worked before the update, even though it took forever to download a movie....

I had the same issue with my apple tv 3rd generation. I rented Sinister and selected the "rent and watch now" option. Half way through the movie I accidentally pressed the menu button. When I looked for the rented movie on my apple tv I could not find it. Not even above the movie pannel where "purchased" and "top movies" comes up on the main menu. the apple tv suggests to go to settings>downloads but I don't have that option. I did go to settings> itunes store> check rentals but that didnt work either. It took too long to even check. Thank you because this SOLUTION worked great.
SOLUTION: How to reset apple tv 3 3rd generation to view rented movies:on the apple tv remote: press and hold "menu" to go to the main menu. Select SETTINGS> GENERAL >RESET >RESET ALL SETTINGS. After the apple tv resets, input all your information again and your rented movies should be visible when you cruise above the "movies" section. THANK YOU!!
Apple needs to solve this issue because honestly it took me 3 hours and a half to watch a movie that only lasted 2 BECAUSE I wast trying to solve the issue, reseting and all. blahh.

Hi I use win Vista and I just bought a new iphone. Everything works well. Only one question is : how to watch .avi video in iphone. The iPhone cannot play AVI videos. You'll need to convert them before you can load and play them on your iPhone. If you search the Using iTunes for Windows forum for "video convert", you'll find a lot of threads on this subject already.

If the video you are trying to view is encoded in an unsupported format, all you can do is:
- request the video creator to provide the video in another format that your phone supports
- download it first to a PC and use a PC based video converter to get it to a format your phone supports

Sounds like the wifi isn't processing the data fast enough for video streaming. Have you tried resetting your wifi hub ? Switch it off for a couple of minutes and then restart it. See if that makes any difference.

The problem is that my school's computers doesn't have QT Pro so I won't be able to watch it on full screen. I have tried to export it as a PowerPoint presentation but all transitions are lost and slides doesn't look well...

Keynote 3 (06) finally allows you to tag a movie to play full screen, but there are other scripts out there that will allow you to change a movie's settings. I haven't tested any in a long while, but I know Tom Negrino used to have one on his web site (which I can't find now).
