How to wire into that close window x button

I want when the end user click the program's x red button at the top right, a dialog box with two buttons will pop out and say "are you sure?", if the end user click Ok, the program will shut off and close its window, if the end user click cancel, the program continues to run.
So I start building the vi, refer attached, but I was flipping the help search without knowing what is the name of that red x button, and i cant find the function block!
So, my question is:
1. I want to wire into that x red close window button event to control my case structure, but where is that function block?
2. Where is the function block that shut off the program as well as close the program window?
Thanks.

I would add, by way of explanation, that you don't actually "tie into the button", you tie into the event that it represents.
That means that if you add an event for PANEL CLOSE?, that event gets triggered by all the things that would close the window: Clicking the CLOSE box (as mentioned), but also typing CTRL-W, selecting CLOSE from the FILE menu (if that's available), aborting the program from the TASK MANAGER (ctrl-alt-delete), and script operations on OS X.
Usually, that's what you want. The point is you're being asked if it's OK to close and you get a chance to say "no".  But it doesn't necessarily come from the CLOSE box.

    win8 should be installed on the big HDD.
    If you have enough computing skills Win8.1 Update could be installed on the small SSD using the new feature - WimBOOT.

  • How to get into Publisher Main Window

    Hi Experts,
    To strat MDM publisher, I have done as followings:
    1) start up MDM publisher gui
    2) in "Connect to MDM Repository" window, choose one repository which I can access from MDM Data Manager.
    3) enter my user and password
    4) click OK to continue
    Afterwards, I can see that a pop up window named "Select MDM Layout Server" is also showing up. There are list of the PC names for me to choose to connect. As MDM Layout Server has been installed on my local, I just choose my pc name from the drop down list and confirm it with OK. But it asks me again and again even I have already chosen. If I click Cancel. Publisher Window has been aborted.
    Can you tell how to get into Publisher Main window ?
    Thanks very much for your help.
    Kind regards,
    Wei Dona

    Hi Jitesh,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I have checked from the Services that the status of  the Layout Server is in "Started" status with Startup Type in "Automatic".
    Could you let me know how to check the version of both Publisher and Layout Server ?
    Regards,
    Wei Dona

    How common is it that the on/off button stops working? Time to throw away the ipod touch? Safe to fly? No more "print screen"?

    Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:
    For PC
    RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
    iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
    If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
    You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

  • How do I add a close window button/image

    All I want to do: Add a close window button (round/square with an "x" through it) to either one or many html files. I don't see how to do this.
    Using RoboHelp 8 HTML and WinXP. Thanks.

    Ahh I see now. You are asking where to obtain such an image!
    The RoboHelp Gallery doesn't contain one. Sorry. You will need to obtain one from any number of other locations.
    You might look at the following link for one possibility.
    Icon Archive
    Here are a couple from my own colloection. You might right-click and save as.
    There are also a number of packages you may purchase or find. Perhaps the following link will help.
    Click here to search Google
    I cannot advise on the legal implications of using said images.

  • How to move the Firefox 'close window' x icon to the right-hand corner?

    I've just been given the option to upgrade my Ubuntu Linux (from Karmic Koala to Lucid Lynx). Although the updated colour scheme and Fire fox look great, one annoyance is that the 'close window' X-icon has moved from the right-hand corner to the left-hand corner.
    As a right-handed person, my mouse pointer drifts over to the right-hand side of windows, so moving this icon from the right corner to the left corner doesn't make sense to me, as a right-handed person (~90% of the world are right-handed?).
    I know that there's almost definitely a keyboard shortcut for 'close window' but I would like to see the 'Close window' 'x' back in the right-hand corner, or an option/preference to put it back where it always used to be! (as far as I know...).
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == When I upgraded Firefox to 3.6.3 as part of Ubuntu upgrade from KK to LL release. Think I might have been running an older 3.6.x version of Firefox prior to this.

    This problem is not particular to Firefox but rather a design scheme that is applied to all programs running Lucid Lynx.
    Solution 1.
    Go to System > Preferences > Appearance. Choose a Theme that has the right orientation rather than the left.
    Solution 2.
    Open up a Terminal and run this snippet to move everything to the right again:
    gconftool-2 --set /apps/metacity/general/button_layout --type string menu:minimize,maximize,close

  • Hi, i wanna know how to logout when i close window

    hi, my problem is whenever i m closing the window of my page, its again opening as logged in,
    i wanna know what i should do in the page, so that again it must for login, once i closed the page bye clicking X on the window,
    but instead what is happening is that, it is opening page but showing as logged one
    i m using cookies for login
    could u please suggest some ideas, where i can logout from the page, once i close the window,
    thanx in advance

    You can have the browser store the cookies in memory and not on the hard drive by setting the masAge:
    public void setMaxAge(int expiry)Sets the maximum age of the cookie in seconds.
    A positive value indicates that the cookie will expire after that many seconds have passed. Note that the value is the maximum age when the cookie will expire, not the cookie's current age.
    A negative value means that the cookie is not stored persistently and will be deleted when the Web browser exits. A zero value causes the cookie to be deleted.

  • How can one specify that multiple windows open (each with its own web page(s) ) when Firefox starts?

    I am on Firefox 15.0. I would prefer not to open multiple tabs to get multiple web sites up when Firefox is started. Instead, I prefer multiple windows. Some might have one tab, some might have several. For example, one window might have Gmail, another might have several different web pages related to weather, and another might simply have Google, and another Yahoo, and another, Orbitz. Since there may be five or six of these windows, with multiple web pages, perhaps 20 in toal, tabs get cluttered, and I don't prefer them anyway. I have plenty of memory and processing power.
    Interestingly enough, if Firefox crashes, it allows you to restart with the pages it thinks you would want. It would be great to have a Start Firefox option similar to that!

    You can reopen the windows and tabs from the previous session.
    You can also use command line switches with a bash script or a modified Firefox desktop shortcut ant use -new-window -url <URL> to open a page in a new window.
    <pre><nowiki><path to firefox>/firefox -new-window -url <URL1> -new-window -url <URL2>
    </nowiki></pre>

  • How do I guarantee that all windows in Safari start merged rather than spawning a new window?  I know how to "merge windows" but want the default to be tabs inside Safari.  Please help.  Thx ... EZ.

    Safari windows in tabs by default ... EZ.

    Hello EPZ303
    Check in Safari preferences for how Safari handles tab browsing. One you have it configured the way you want, then it is a matter of using it.

  • Can't close window from button

    I am trying out Safari 4 Public Beta on my HP 2133 which runs Vista Business with service pack 1.
    When I try to close a Safari window by left clicking on the cross in the red box on the top right of the window nothing happens. In fact all 3 buttons (minimize, window size and red cross) act as one to change the window size when I double left click.
    I can only close the window by right clicking on the application in the tray and selecting close.
    Any ideas please?

    I too was having this problem with my home HP Desktop. I love the new beta an use it on my home HP desktop, home HP laptop, and work HP desktop and was having the problem only on the Home desktop. Tonight I discovered that if I change my Windows Theme (right click desktop/personalize/theme) to anything but Windows Vista then the functionality of said buttons work again. It appears that Safari Beta does not like the straight Windows Vista theme or at least that's my diagnosis as of now.

  • Switching into a dialog window's buttons (ok/cancel) w/ a keybord shortcut

    how can i do this?
    on pc i'm used to press "tab" button to switch from the default option to the other.
    for example when selecting "shut down the computer" in the apple menu, it appears a dialog window saying "the computer will shut down in 1 m and ..." selected default button (blue) is CONTINUE, how do I switch to CANCEL button without using the mouse?
    Thank you

    Normally you use "tab" to move around within a dialog box on a Mac too, spiderresistance.
    To automatically hit the "cancel" button, though, use "esc"
    You can find very extensive lists of Mac keyboard shortcuts by going to the "Help" menu when in the Finder , choosing "Mac Help" and then typing "keyboard shortcuts" in the search box.
    Cheers

  • G3 fallback mode + compiz no close,min,max buttons

    hi!
    I've reluctantly switched/updated to gnome3 today. After about an hour's work, my desktop is shaping up quite nicely.
    However, I want to use compiz in place of metacity (in fallback mode obviously, I don't care for g-shell).
    This basically  works, except that my 'window-control-buttons'(close, max, min, menu) are missing - they are simply not drawn.
    Switching back to metacity puts them back.
    I've gone through gconf/dconf, ccsm and the likes, maybe this is a (gtk-window-decorator) bug? Anyone else with this problem? Ideas?

    you can also use Metacity themes with gtk-window-manager, like in gnome2 + compiz
    just make sure "metacity theme" is checked off;
    gconf-editor --> apps --> gwd --> metacity theme.
    you can also use transparency on the window decoration with Metacity...
    I've been running Gnome3-compiz for a few weeks now, it's working great

    Thank you

    I tried window.close() and self.close() both are giving me errors (I am certain the problem is with the script)..What does the error messages say? Is it a server error or a Javascript error?
    <c:redirect url="index.jsp"/>
    <script>
         function didit(){
         window.close()
    </script><c:redirect> sends a temporary redirect response to the client using the specified redirect location URL("index.jsp" in your case). Once you redirect, the response should be considered to be committed and should not be written to. The javascript codes that follow the <c:redirect> tag clearly violates this.
    If your objective is to close the window then why are you redirecting?
