How use eclipse create Flex API ?

I'm pretty sure this isn't anything to do with Acrobat Forms. Perhaps there is a forum for Flex?

Rather than ordinary cookies, use Local Shared Object. It is
much more powerful than standard cookies.
I'll look for an example. What version of Flex are you using?

  • Re-using Segments Created via API or Re-creating Every Time?

    Hi All,
Wanted to get your thoughts on this...
We have been able to create Segments via the API, however, which way to go:
OPTION 1: Re-use Segment if there are no additions or deletions (changes) to the list? or
OPTION 2: Re-create the Segment every time via API.
In Option 1, we will still need to compare the existing list to the new list before deciding to re-use. However, the comparison will be done outside of Eloqua.
In Option 2, we may create a new list even though there are no changes but we will have the historical data and it will be easier to identify lists.
In both scenarios, data processing may affect performance.
For those who have done this or are familiar, what would you recommend?
    Hope it's clear.
    Pinging: TJ Fields-Oracle, 1065474, freejung
    Thanks!!

In simpler terms of creating assets and storage, creating new segments each time should not be a problem. That said, the asset choosers might end up being slow if you're blowing past 100k which will ultimately result in a poor user experience for the marketers. Please see:
    Eloqua Product Thresholds
Beyond that, you should also consider:
    - Developers creating a process where segments and campaigns are being created automatically, and the campaigns being left active for a long time with segments are set to run every hour. For static lists, it wouldn't really result in heavy calculating but you can run into delayed contact entry into campaigns if you have hundreds of segments feeding hundreds of campaigns - each with heavy filtering. At best it would be pointless to run segments (on the canvas) hourly if the lists are static, and at worst you're making everything slower. That doesn't sound like a major concern here but something to keep in mind.
    - API tools automatically updating segments which are currently referenced in live campaigns (again, running hourly segments). This means if you re-use assets for new campaigns there is a risk that they're being referenced by a currently live campaign and you end up adding the wrong contacts to the wrong flow. Since segments share a relationship to campaigns as their primary contact feeder, the API tools should only be updating the same segment asset with new contacts if the intent is to add those contacts to an existing campaign.
    - Although keeping shared lists or segments untouched gives you some historical tracking, do not assume the contacts in those assets are exactly the same ones which were used when the campaign was launched. For example, if you delete the bouncebacks and unsubscribes after the campaign has run and go back to your segment, even if it is a simple segment with a local list, it will not contain the deleted contacts. For any serious auditing task, let the API tool archive what contacts were added to what segment. Then you can use Bulk 2.0 activity exports to keep a list of what contacts received what emails from various campaigns.

  • How do I create an API with session support?

    Hi experts,
I am implemented an API, now I need to have a session for each user using this API, something like HttpSession, I need to store some attribute for each user. for example, each user may choose its own locale and I need to manage every one separately.
is there any design pattern to support session or has anyone such experience?

may I ask you what is lightweight container? in other words, how can I define one. did you mean something like a Servlet? if yes, in none-web application what kind of container I can use?
do you know a simple container or an example?
thanks againactually you dont need session support in a regulr application. it is needed only in a web application because a session of a web application may comsist of several stateless pages, the session helps maintain the state throughout the application.
a regular application may consist of a main thread, plus work threads and background thread. so long as your main thread is running, you can use it to maintain state. all you need is a containter type of class for more efficient management, which can be used for a web application as well.
a lightweight container is a server code which, unlike heavyweight container such as the ejb container that requires you implement certain interfaces, does not require any special interface implementation, any good old java classes will run in it. for more informatioon, look up some spring docs.

  • Getting error in using the create Reservation API in OM

    Hi All,
we want to reserve the item while creating the orders from interface tables.
We are using the INV_RESERVATION_PUB.Create_Reservation for creating the reservation based upon the Lot numbers.
We have first written the declare block(Anonymous) and reserved the quantity that was working fine using the batch is, orig reference (source order number) etc.
But when we are using the same code to create a procedure it is giving us the following two errors.
    INV_RSV_SR_DETAIL
    Invalid Serial Number.
We have checked that these errors are in the validate_serials proc in inv_reservation_validate_pvt Package.
Can any of you please help us here so that we can overcome this issue.
    Thanks

We got the error ... we are using a tbl type var for serial nos and initializing it from 0. Now are initializing it with 1. Everything is working fine now.

    Hello Aditya,
Thanks for showing interest in my question.
To answer your question of what I am trying to do, I hope this can shed some light.
I was given a PO number and an Outbound delivery number to work with.
We have created a custom (module) program that handles transactions regarding outbound deliveries, and one feature of this program is to do a reversal of Outbound deliveries already posted.
When using this reversal feature using the given PO as reference, the error message which I mentioned in my previous post, is displayed on screen.
The user is curious why this happens and yet the posted outbound delivery involved is reversed.
    Additional info:
    • VL02n > Post Goods Issues - to process(?) given Outbound delivery
    • Custom program - to do the reversal process
    • VL02n does Mvt 641 while the reversal does Mvt 642.
I apologize as to not being so clear but I am not so well versed with MM and its workings.
    Thanks.

  • How does the ActionScript API, Eclipse IDE, Flex SDK, Cygwin & Flex Builder all communicate??

Whats up Everyone! As you might've immediately recognized from the title of this thread I'm new to developing apps with Flex.....
If I've succesfully set up my development environment (Flex SDK, Eclipse IDE, JAVA SDK, Apache Ant, Flash Player, etc.....) & checked out the source code using Subversion, can I start developing my app using the ActionScript 3 API using Eclipse? & how do those different SDK's & programs communicate? How should they be setup?

If you're willing to buy into the FlexBuilder way of doing things, that's probably the way to go. In this case, you don't really need to worry about anything except FlexBuilder (at least for a while). I don't really have any experience in setting up a project with a server component (I always set 'server type' to 'None' and configure this manually), but other than that, the experience has been (fairly) smooth, and I'm someone who's pretty heavily biased towards the command line. FlexBuilder takes care of most of the Flex compiler options, tracking different SDK versions (I have three different ones installed), offers code completion and navigation tools, etc.
To get some of the terms straight (I'm not sure how familiar you are with these, since you just threw them out there--pardon me if I'm being patronizing):
    * the ActionScript API: the function and class definitions built into Flash Player (fl.*) and the Flex standard library (mx.*)
    * Eclipse: a Java IDE, the core of FlexBuilder
    * Flex SDK: the Flex standard library, the mxml and compc flex compilers, some ant tasks for build automation, etc.
    * Cygwin: this does not really have anything to do with Flex specifically, as far as I'm aware--it's a *nix emulation layer for Windows
    * FlexBuilder: the Flex IDE from Adobe, built as a plug-in to Eclipse
FlexBuilder is available in standalone (i.e., pre-bundled with Eclipse) and plug-in versions. Both versions include the SDK. If you're just starting out, I would suggest a FlexBuilder standalone trial, and follows some tutorials out there (or, really, just chose "new Flex project" and explore). In this case, you don't really have to worry about installing or configuring anything else to get started.
Note also that for the upcoming Flex 4, FlexBuilder has been renamed Flash Builder (but I would stick with Flex 3.4 or 3.2 right now unless you really likethe bleeding edge).

  • How to run an application i created in java without using eclipse

Im familiar with running an application i create thru command prompt or eclipse, how do i create a file to run on any computer with java so i can double click the file and my application runs. C# automatically does this, do i need to do an extra step to the jar file?

    Hi,
You need to make an executable JAR file. There are a few ways you can do this but since you are using Eclipse you can follow this tutorial.
The most important part is the manifest file, if you have dependencies on other JAR files they will need to be specified along with the
main method to call to start you program. You can do this via the Eclipse Wizard.
It will be in your interests to read this tutorial also

  • How to create an EJB Module using Eclipse

    Hi,
How do I create a single EJB module and make a deployable EJB jar? I already have a existing source directory that contains the java files and the deployment descriptor. I am using Eclipse Ganymede 3.4 and Weblogic 9.2.
    Thanks.
    Edited by: user10387019 on Dec 9, 2008 1:39 PM

Start out by creating an empty EJB project using the EJB Project wizard. Make sure to specify your WebLogic 9.2 installation as target runtime on the first page of the wizard. If your EJB source code is plain spec-compliant EJB, then your project is ready. If you are using WLS EjbGen technology, then you will also need to enable that feature on the project. You can do that at project creation by clicking the Modify button next to the Configuration combo on the first page of the wizard and then selecting WebLogic EJB Gen Support facet.
Once the project is created, you are ready to import your source. You have several choices here. You can either copy your source into the src directory created for you or you can delete that source directory and link to a source directory elsewhere on the file system. To do the latter, right click on the project and select properties. Go to Java Build Path and select the Source tab. Remove the existing source directory. Then click on Link Source button and point to your existing source directory.
That should be all that's necessary. Hope that helps.

  • How to create RAS phonebook entry using cmd or win API

I could't find forum about Batch/cmd or API so I'll post here. Hope it's ok, it's C# related after all.
I need to implement simple VPN client functionality in my C# application, and it is highly preferable not to use any third party libraries, like DotRas for example, which I find not efficient and well documented anyway. I can use DotRas, but the connection
fails 9 of 10 times, because of some keys DotRas don't set correctly. I can connect using:
    rasdail entryname user pass /PHONEBOOK:mypath
The problem is how to create an entry (the custom phone book here is nod needed and it don't concern my question, I can use the default as well), I even know what keys to use, so I can create it from string, but the problem is in those 4 keys:
    LowDateTime= HighDateTime= DialParamsUID= Guid=
I vaguely know what're those for, but I can't find good explanation how they are created. Windows documentation says:
LowDateTime= - This key is optional and if present MUST be ignored by RRAS HighDateTime=30428537 - This key is optional and if present MUST be ignored by RRAS DialParamsUID=2945250 - This key specifies
a unique identifier (an 8-bit ASCII-encoded string representation of a decimal number) to be used on RRAS for use as a credential key for demand-dial connection. This key is optional. Guid= - This key specifies a unique identifier (GUID) for this RRAS entry.
    This key is optional.
Those are all optional and even omitted according to Microsoft documentation, but when I change one of those the connection fails with error 800, which I don't have an idea why. I can obviously create the entry with DotRas and change some keys, assuming the
problem is not in those flags, and I'm not so sure in this, or I can try to automate and hide the vpn creation GUI in windows, but both the ideas look very ugly to me...

    Hi Memeandme,
Thank you for visiting the MSDN forum.
I’m afraid that it is not the correct forum about this issue, since this forum is to discuss Visual C# programming language. In .Net Framework, there is no build-in method to help you implement
this.  Now I am moving your question to the moderator forum ("Where is the forum for..?"). The owner of the forum will direct you to a right forum. Thanks for your understanding.

  • Using Eclipse project definitions to build the Flex SDK

It would be great if someone from Adobe could post on the recommended usage of the Eclipse project definitions in the development/eclipse/ subdirectory of the 3.0.x trunk distribution. I would like to debug some compiler modifications that I am working on.
I saw Peter Farland demo this setup at 360Flex, but was unable to capture all the details of the Eclipse configuration that he discussed in his talk.
    thanks!

If you go to the framework project’s properties, there is a section called Flex Library Compiler, you want to use a specific flex sdk (add a new sdk which points to the trunk, and use that) — you are probably building /against/ the wrong sdk, right code, wrong compiler.

(I had tried to manually build a framework project a few times and it was a nightmare.) I would probably prefer to work on the 3.0.x branch/tag as I hope to submit a patch or two but saw Joe mention that the project defs only existed in the trunk.
Searching Google for the oem error turns up lots of links about projects that had assets deleted and the build got confused but following the instructions on how to fix proved unsuccessful.

I always forget what that error means when it comes up -- though it's been ages since I've seen it last, literally.
Joe: Since you mention Java 1.5, I'm guessing the errors are in the asdoc package? Those should be turned off (read: turned into a warning) -- Eclipse is a little too persnickety about that particular error. There's a preference for this in the Java section under warnings and errors. It's turned off in the trunk dev projects. Otherwise, you should be able to run the compiler directly with no problems (okay, one more caveat: there's a class loader issue with the OEM, fixed in trunk if you look for my Java 1.5 checkin).
Ben: What is your setup? What are you building (Ryan mentions trunk, Joe mentions 30x), which Eclipse, which dev projects, did you build the sdk from the commandline first, etc.?
    Cheers,

  • Any official Update for Flex Builder 3 to use Flash Player 10 Api?

Any official Update for Flex Builder 3 to use Flash Player 10
    Api?
How can i use flash player's 10 features in flex builder 3?
    Thanks

I was able to solve my problem by modifying the solution
    offered in
    this
    technote.
The technote identifies a permissions problem with the
components directory of non-Safari browsers. In my case the
permissions problem appears to have been in the main
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins directory. What tipped me off to the
solution was the fact that after manually removing Flash
    Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt from the /Library/Internet
Plug-Ins directory, subsequent attempts to install Flash Player
resulted in the "Creating file: 1008:5, -5000 Access Denied Error"
I remembered seeing in the technote. Before removing these files,
the installer would just fail silently, perhaps because it saw
files it was going to install already living in the right place,
and furthermore had no permissions to alter the directory.
In any case, by making the permissions change recommended in
the technote to the /Library/Internet Plug-Ins directory, I was
able to install the plug-in, which gave me back access to Flash
    content in all my browsers.
Hope this is helpful to someone else...
