How can i get ahold of the component under my cursor? It could be any type of component. Lets say for this example, I would like to focus the component under my cursor if is a JText field...without clicking on it obviously...

this event will not fire if a mouse button is pressed when i enter the JTextarea. I am trying to drag from a jtree to a jtexfield. If i click and start dragging from the JTree, and then drag over the jtextfield, no events are fired from teh Jtextfield. I do not want to use the drag-n-drop package because i have heard it is not all what it is cracked up to be. I hear it can slow performance because entire app is aware of the event...

Is there anyway at all that I can get a refund under warranty?

I've got a 3 year warrenty and I am completely dissatisfied with my 15" 2011 macbook pro, I payed £1,500 for a computer that can't run windows without giving me errors about how my Ram isn't installed properly and is getting slower and slower everytime I boot it.
I bought it less than a year ago and is getting really bad now, I'm having to use my mum's computer because it is unusable. Apple support guys on the live chat dance around the question "Can I get a refund under my warranty?" and just say that I can go to the nearest apple store (which is 100 miles away (literally)) and get it fixed.
I've defragged my disc, reinstalled OSX and windows, updated my drivers, heck I've even tried new RAM chips, nothing's working.
Is there some loophole in my warranty that allows me to get a full refund for it so I can buy a PC instead?

What is a website that can assist with getting student loans under control?

I've seen in previous post people refer others to a website that will assist you in getting your loans under control. I have multiple loans with different loan companies and I want to speak with someone to guide me through getting on the right track? Does anyone know the website?

The National Student Loan Data System is a good place to start. It will list all of your Federal student loan debt - including the amount borrowed, currently owed, status and who holds the loan. You can use this site to put together a list of who you need to contact. This system does not include private student loans, so if you have any of those you'll have to turn to your original paperwork, records from your school, or your credit report. This DoE website is a great overview of the different loan programs - it covers borrowing, repayment options, and how to get out of default (among other topics). There is no reason to pay someone to help you manage your federal student loans. Every servicer and collection agency is required to give you access to the same repayment options and pathways out of default, and you can handle it yourself, for free. If you have questions about a specific step of the process, these forums are a great resource as well.

Thank you. I rang Vodafone and although they were not too technical - they suggested my speaker was broken and was probably interfering with the microphone sound out as well. So thank you for the clue - I must admit to not thinking of ringing my carrier supplier. Thank goodness for two things - it is intermittent and I am due an upgrade phone in 6 weeks. I can manage till then I hope with the watery sound from time to time.

How do I enable "Data under cursor"?

I just started playing around with the new Au CS6, like it a lot so far! I've had good luck getting all the little tweaks I liked from Au 3 working except this one small thing which to many may seem unnecessary, but I have found to be very useful in specific instances.
Using Au 3, in the status bar at the bottom of the screen there are various data displayed such as 'Sample Format', 'File Size', 'Free Space', and the one I am struggling to find in CS6, 'Data Under Cursor'. With this, anywhere I placed the cursor on a spectrogram I might be looking at in Au it will give me the readout of exact Hz value at that spot in the status bar (for example: -21.6 dB @ 1:22:021, 1362Hz). I cannot find how to turn on or view this datum in CS6. If there's someone out there who knows if I can still do this in the new version, or a workaround I could use to get something similar in Au CS6, I'd love to hear about it.

I got it working since, I had to go into the rte player app and enable cellular streaming there. It wasn't anywhere in general settings where I was initially looking. Thanks anyway.

Finding component under cursor - Container.findComponentAt() troubles

Hi,
I'm using Container.findComponentAt to ask the root application Window to find which component is under the cursor. The I build the context sensitive message depending on what is under the cursor.
I have found following problems, mainly with pop-ups and menus.
- findComponentAt refuses to find menu element if menu sticks outside the limits of Window I ask to find component.
- findComponentAt refuses to find any popup-menu element - it always returns the "first hit" which is usually the component below the popupmenu
I'm using 1.6 JRE.
My question is: does anybody knows the other way to find what is under cursor? Without adding mouse motion listeners to every component I mean. Just a single piece of code to find where mouse events would get next.

It is stupid to answer to myself, but possibly some of You may benefit from that.
The way to get a trace on what is under the cursor is:

Why am I being told that a JPEG file that I made changes to in Photoshop 6 (CS6) can't be saved? The message I get says that either the file is locked and I don't have permission to execute this or another program is using this file.

i recently purchased a 21.5 iMac with Yosemite (10.10.1) and was disappointed to discover that my CS6 programs are not functioning correctly. I am unable to use the "Save As" command when making changes to a JPEG file in Photoshop. The message I get says that either another program is using the file or it is locked and I don't have permission to execute that command. I'm experiencing a similar problem in Bridge when trying to move an unwanted file to the Trash. Again, I get a message telling me that i don't have permission to do this. Lastly, I'm unable to open any Camera Raw files. Any suggestions? I had no problems with the Mavericks OS on my old iMac and although it's much slower, I'm tempted to go back to using my old iMac. At this point, I feel as if I've just wasted $2300+ (tax included).

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. The usual cause of that issue is a corrupted or missing font that Firefox replaces by another, in this case a bold, font.
As a test you can try to disable the default font and choose a few different fonts (Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, Times New Roman) to see if you can identify the culprit.<br />
you will have to reinstall that corrupted font.

It sounds like you are using an application to import. You can do it manually.
Start > Computer (on the right) > scroll to the bottom and you will see your iPhone under Portable Devices > Open it and you will see a Drive, open that and there will be a DCIM folder. That is where your photos will be (There may be other folders each holding photos).

If you are wondering why you are not getting any responses, it is because you have vented a complaint without any details that make any sense or give anyone something to work on.
If you want help, I suggest actually detailing what has happened, with versions of software etc. Anything that would let us assist.
As a start I am guessing that you have not really got the hang of "How it all works". Firstly download the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf from under the Help menu. Read that and view the Video Tutorials in the same place. A good addition would be the iWork 09 Missing manual book and something to help you learn how to use your Mac.

I still don't know how to get CC to find that I have Photoshop CC installed, but running Creative Cloud, going to Preferences and signing out, then signing in again got Lightroom CC to work.
Since Photoshop CC is still working despite apparently not being installed things are now OK, at least for the moment. But I'm not feeling at all happy with Adobe.

Get plot number for cursor in "Cursor Plot" = -1 mode (snap to any plot)

I have a XY graph with multiple plots. For my cursors the "Cursor Plot" property is set to -1 so that the cursor can snap to any of the plots. My problem is that I need to get the plot number the cursors is currently associated with. HOw can I do that?

No matter what tool I choose, all I get is a hand cursor

I recently installed Photoshop CS4 and didn't have any problems with the installation. However, quite frequently the program gets into a mode where no matter what tool I choose all I get is a hand cursor. I've tried logging off to correct the problem, but that doesn't work. Rebooting the computer is normally sufficient. I haven't determined any specific actions that always cause this circumstance to arise. Does anyone have any ideas on what my problme might be?
BTW, I'm running on Windows XP Pro, 32-bit, with 3.5 GB of memory and a 2GHz dual-core cpu.

This is my expereince as well. I've never seen the problem in any other application and I've been using Photoshop for over 15 years, and this is the first version that I've encountered this problem. And like you, when I switch to any other program the mouse and keyboard work just fine, so it is not a physical keyboard problem.
But, if hitting the space bar a few times solves the problem, then I'm happy for now.

I'm trying to use the Java Access Bridge (JAB) 2.1 to get the text in Java Applet controls. I've been able to use the sample code in AccessInfo.cpp sample that comes with JAB to get text from "text" controls in a Java Applet. To clarify, I am referring to the "role" in the AccessibleContextInfo struct being set to "text" or "combo box" or "label".
The problem is, when I use the AccessInfo.cpp sample to get text from a "combo box", the accessibleText data member comes back as FALSE, and thus any of the JAB text functions like GetAccessibleTextInfo fail to get any text information from "combo box" or "label" controls.
I've also tried GetCurrentAccessibleValueFromContext on the "combo box" and "label" controls, but the text returned is empty.
Can anyone help?

I have new information in regards to this issue. A contact from Sun did get to me in email and relayed that that "label" objects store their text in the "name" data member of the AccessibleContext structure. This was a big help.
But I'm still stuck trying to get information from "combo box" and other controls, like "push button". The contact said, the Java Access Bridge does not provide all the information because it is already implemented by other interfaces like AccessibleComponent, AccessibleAction, or AccessibleSelection. The contact did not allude to whether these opther interfaces can be used along side the Java Access Bridge or not. So, I'm left a step closer to the goal, but still stuck without the full solution.
Can one take the Java Access Bridge functions, like say those used in the Ferret sample, and close the gap to get text back from "combo box", "push button", and other controls by using some other API in conjunction?

You can't delete it from your purchased list, as that is permanently maintained by the iTunes store. You can, however, prevent it from appearing in your song list by going to Settings>iTunes & App Store and turning off Music under Show All.
