You don't open them, you just have to put it in the correct folder which depends on what your operating system is.

  • My printer doesn't print color

Hi,I have HP Envy 4500 e-All-In-One  printer. I've been using this for 2 years (maybe little more).I don't have any problem with the black but  it doesn't print the color . It's been like this since the beginning. I've never able to print color. I cleaned cartridge, unistall-install the drivers but nothing doesn't work. I wanted to take it back where i bought (BestBuy) but i think it's too late because i didnt keep neither its receipt nor the box, nor anything else. Can somebody help me please. P.S : I use lenovo yoga. Thank you..

Nice to meet you , I might have some things you can try to get your printer to use the colour cartridge.  Is this still the original cartridge that came with the printer? Does the colour print on the Print Quality Diagnostic report? On the printer control panel, press the Down Arrow () to scroll to Tools, and then press OK.Press the Down Arrow () to scroll to Print Quality Report, and then press OK. The printer prints the test page.

  • HP Deskjet D4160 can't print color when connected to express.

When I connect my Air to my HP Deskjet D4160, I can print in color. When I connect it to my Airport Express running the 6.3 software, it shows up fine in the printer tab, and I can add it correctly to my Air in the system prefs (it also finds the correct driver in 10.5.5), but when I print color it just comes out grayscale.
    Any ideas?

All I can suggest at this point is to check with HP to make sure you have the latest drivers available for your printer.
Not all printers are compatible with the USB port on the Express, especially lower priced printers which are often designed to only work if they are attached directly to a computer.

  • HT204135 Photoshop CS5 Printing Problem on iMac with Epson 3880 printer

All of a sudden I can't print from Photoshop CS5 on my iMac with OSX Mountain Lion installed.  I am able to print from Illustrator, however.   Have tried to update the Epson 3880 driver. After clicking on "Print", it doesn't register with the computer, and from then on, the "Print" option is greyed out.

Are you using moab icc profiles or are you using one of the epson profiles?
I always use the moab profiles which you can download from their Web site. This way you are matching the specific epson printer with the specific moab paper.
At that point you change the printer manages color to Lightroom manages color and select the specific profile. Very easy to do - they even have instructions on the Moab site for installing the profiles if you haven't done that.
Once installed you can also use them through the system print dialogs in PS but it is really much much easier to use in LR - Since coming on board with LR last summer, I have switched to doing ALL printing from LR. Since you mentioned that you are having the same problem with LR and PS, I'm betting you are using epson profiles and this will solve your problem.
    Hope so

  • HP C4680 does not print test page (iMac - OS Yosemite 10.10)

Recently, my C4680 has stopped printing from my iMac.  It also no longer prints a copy of a page placed on the scanner.   Here's some info about what I've checked and done so far.
    1.  The ink supply levels are fine.  I am using HP's proprietary ink.
    2.  I deleted C4680 from the list of printers and added it back.  Adding back the printer did not indicate that a new driver was needed.  (The last time I used the printer was under OSX 10.9 Mavericks)
    3.  Under the utilities menu, I clicked on "printhead cleaning."  A blank page printed under Level 1 cleaning, but Level 2 and Level 3 cleaning each produced pages printed with text and color bars.    So, the ink is working.
    4.  Under the utilities menu, I clicked on "Align," but it only produced a blank page.
    5.  Under the utilities menu, I clicked on "test page," but only got a blank page.
Why isn't my printer working?  As I mentioned before, the "printhead cleaning" utility produced printed text, but I get a blank page for other tasks.
Is it a HP driver issue?  Is a new driver needed for OSX Yosemite?  If so, where do I find it.
    Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the detailed post rileyc.
I would like to help you with the printing issue you are experiencing. I understand the issue seems to be related to the ink system or potentially the driver. The best plan of attack is to narrow down the root cause.
Can you please perform a colour copy that contains black spots too? I would like to see if the printer hardware can duplicate a page without any quality issues. Please let me know the outcome of the copy and we can go from there. Thanks

  • Canon MP600 printer no longer working with Yosemite

I have an iMac, Mid 2011 with OS X Yosemite Version 1010.2 installed.  It has 4gb of memory and a 2.7GHz Intel Core i5 processor.  Of my 1TB of storage I have 934.81 GB free.
Since returning from a recent holiday my Canon Pixma MP600 printer has not been recognised by my iMac and I am no longer able to print from it.  It did work with Yosemite before I left and I have been unable to restore the printer on the on the Printers and Scanners list.  I have tried to uninstall the printer software and go back a step to install it with OS Mavericks but having gone through that process once it did not work.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?

    Hi trev1124
I have tried a number of ways to reinstall my printer but it does not appear in the drop down menu under Printers and Scanners and no matter what I seem to do will it come up.  I am just about at my wits end with this.  Short of binning my current printer (which was working perfectly well by the way) and buying a new one I do not know what else to do.
If anyone has any other suggestions I would be most grateful.

  • Printing out of Acrobat with Yosemite

I just got a new mac with Yosemite. When I print out of Acrobat XI sometimes it prints the job bigger than it is or it shrinks it. I have it set at Actual size, and have also told it Custom Scale 100%. Printing to a Xerox 700. Any ideas?

    Lana_Prolific,
Perhaps you can provide us with some more information. What is the defined page size of the pages you are trying to print? Also, what is the page size you have selected on the Xerox 700 printer? Does the same problem occur when you attempt to print the same pages to other printer models? You also might want to consider checking whether Xerox offers an updated driver for this printer for MacOS 10.10.
More info and we might be able to assist you further. FWIW, this is not an issue that we have previously heard about either through these forums of the Technical Support organization. At this point I would not make any assumptions as to whether MacOS 10.10 or Acrobat 11.0.10 is the culprit.

  • Is there a recommeded ink jet printer that works best with Yosemite?

I have a new iMac14 with Yosemite.  I'm having all kinds of trouble getting it set up including getting my printer (Canon MX 512) to work as it should.  Is there a
recommended ink jet printer to use with Yosemite?

According to this, your Canon driver has been updated for Yosemite.
OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download - Apple Support
    Try this:
    Reset the printing system:

  • Deskjet F4235 doesn't print after Windows 8.1 update and subsequent updating of HP software

Updated Windows 8.1 software.  Afterwards when I went to print, received a message that the HP software needed to be reinstalled.  Printer still worked at that point--but there were problems.  Couldn't scan from the printer; had to do it from the computer.  When I realized it wouldn't duplex print, I decided to do the reinstallation.  After many screens, etc., the HP printer diagnostics told me that there was a problem it couldn't solve.  I went to HP support, software and drivers; nothing helped there.  Now my printer doesn't work at all.  I have USB.  Can anyone shed light on this?  Thank you so much.  ~J

  • Photosmart C6280 not printing color/both sides with Mac

    Hello HP Community,
I have a Macbook Pro running iOS X 10.9.2 and a AIO Photosmart C6280. I am have downloaded the printing/scanning software and drivers. Everything installed without problem. I have also scanned with no problem. However, no matter what program I am trying to print from on my Macbook, the printer will not print in color and also will not print on both sides - even when the double sided feature is checked off.
I have been to all the discussion forums of relevance and can't find anyone with my same problem. Those that have similar problems, are running different versions of iOS and the steps suggested they take are not possible with this version. Please Help!

    Hello HP_USER,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you're unable to print in color from you Mac 10.9.2. I will try to help you with this.
Have you tried making a color copy from the printer? If not please do so, this is to see if the printer is having the issue stand alone.
I would also recommend looking at these documents:
    Missing, Faded, or Dull Colors
    Wrong Colors
As for it not duplexing, according to the User's Guide, this printer doesn't duplex as in it doesn't have a duplexer. If you are manual duplexing that would be slightly different, as it requires you to be flipping the page after the first side has come out. This document can assist you with that: Print on Both Sides of the Paper (Manual Duplexing)
I hope this helps you out, thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

  • ICal under 10.5 doesn't print the List view with To Do's correctly.

The problem is this: I have a bunch of To Do's in iCal. I usually print them out on paper using the LIST VIEW (print dialog) so that I can take my To Do list with me. Unfortunately, after updating to Leopard 10.5, all the URL's in my To Do's have wierd links to my email and print funny code on paper now. It's like the added feature of To Do's in mail has caused something here. Anyone else experiencing this? By this way, this only happens with old to do's (before the upgrade), not new ones.

    John,
This has happened to me as well. Our school uses phpicalendar to publish lesson plans to our web server. I have had this happen to three other teachers as well. In order to get them back to the correct server I have to export their calendars to the desktop, create a new calendar and publish it to the correct location, then import their calendars from the desktop. I haven't been able to re-enter the correct URL in the existing calendars - get an error when publishing.

  • Printer does not work with Yosemite

After upgrading to Yosemite my Canon LBP 5050n won't print anymore.
i Installed the new driver but that did not solve the problem.
    Any idea?

I've read countless threads and posts regarding the printer issues, because I have been trying to trouble shoot mine.
What I'm reading is that, no matter what you do, what driver you update correctly, what preferences you pick, etc., the one common denominator is the newest Yosemite update (10.10.3).
No matter what brand of printer, how new, how well they worked just before the update, suddenly everyone is having issues with their printers.
While appreciate your suggestions and, while some of them sometimes help a few people with a part of their problem, they don't work.  And probably won't until there is yet another update to address these bugs.
Could the printer (and all-in-one printer/scanners) issues be somehow related to the new Photos app that replaced iPhoto?  Partially?
I admit that I haven't even tried scanning or emailing anything yet because I'm still trying to figure out why in the heck my printer isn't printing in color.
Simple thing.  Print a color picture, photo, file, etc, in color as it shows in print preview.  But when it prints, it's in black and white.
So we all reinstall or update our drivers for our particular printers and we can't get them to function completely.  Some people's printers won't even print, some are fuzzy, some are out of scale, some won't print in color.
We check all our settings like you tell us, we walk through every step like we're told, we do everything correctly.  Yes, that includes checking our ink cartridges.
Consider for a moment that we are all adults, not stupid, have owned apple computers for years and aren't new to them; Remember how people say everything was working just fine BEFORE the update.  Then go back to all your tech gurus at Apple and bring us a real solution.  It's not us.  It's not our printers.  It's Apple.
