HP Laserjet 1200 and Driver Updates

On the "Download Drivers and Software" support page for the HP Laserjet 1200 printer, there is an option, "Automatically check to see if your driver needs updating".
A machine that I am supporting is having a MS Word collating issue (sometimes works, sometimes doesn't) and I don't know if its a driver issue or not.  The machine is XP SP3.
If I click on this link, obviously it will check the drivers, but:
1) Will it give me the option to automatically update the drivers if it finds they are outdated, and
2) How do I roll back to the old driver if the update introduces problems?
Since this potential driver update isn't going through the normal MS XP driver update routine in Device Manager, I'm leery that I won't be able to recover if something goes wrong.

I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial printer. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/
I hope this helps.

  • Installation of software and driver updates

I have been trying to install the software for my laserjet pr0 200 color mfp M276nw printer onto my hp touchsmart 320.  I am able to download the software but the process stops when it gets to the installation portion.  An error message appears.  This same thing is happening when I try to install the hp driver updates that the hp support assistant recommends.  Please help!

    Hi,
Do you have the exact Blue Screen Error Message?
If the notebook restarts before you can make a note of the Blue screen then follow these instructions:
Tap F8 when you turn on the notebook. In the F8 screen select "Disable Automatic Restart on failure"
Once you disable it next time when the Blue screen comes up you'll be able to make a note of the Error..Look the error with number 0x0000... and file names at the bottom. That will help us to identify the cause of the Blue screen.
    Note:
If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem

  • Laserjet 1200 and Win 7 - small sheet orientation problem

I am unable to get my HP Laserjet 1200 printer to work correctly with Windows 7 when printing a document narrower than 8.5x11.  The problem is that a 4x6 sheet is fed through the center of the printer but win7 wants to print as if the 4x6 sheet were fed through the left side of the printer.  Any suggestions are welcomed.  Thank you.

It's almost like a memory problem? Like it doesn't get all the graphics sent to the printer until halfway down the page.
I use this for my small business to make labels for my products.  Does anyone know how to help?  I tried to call HP, but they are closed, it told me to do the online chat, but that said it didn't recognize my printer.  HELP!

  • HP Laserjet 1200 and HP PSC 1200 - Laserjet not printing

    Hello,
my laserjet 1200 is not printing, stating: "Generic class - waiting for the device".
The reason seems to be the installer of the HP PSC 1200, which put some files on my harddisk the laserjet doesn't like.
There is a process called "HP Communication..." viewable in the process viewer. Whenever I manually quit this process, the LaserJet prints.
But as soon as I restart the computer, the process (and the problem) reoccures. Is there a way I can "kill" this process permanently?
    mac mini G4 1.5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I have 3 users who's HP LaserJet 1200's have stopped working. This was after we got an HP Color LaserJet 2820.
I killed the HP Communications process like mentioned above and then voila the LaserJet 1200 started to print again.
It looks like you want to edit this file
    /Library/Preferences/loginwindow.plist
    and remove this line
    <string>/Library/Printers/hp/HP Communications.app/HP Communications</string>
    Thanks for the help

  • Software and driver updates

My laptop has been blue screening intermittently for the last year or two. It will sometimes happen when I try to put the computer in hibernate mode or shutdown, and it is much more likely to happen when it has to install updates on shutdown or when I try to defrag. I want to find out if it's a driver problem before assuming there is some hardware malfunction, but the HP Software and Driver page isn't working for me. I have the framework downloaded and it scans, but the 3 minute process  has been going for over an hour. I know it isn't my internet that is the problem; it has to be something with my computer. How can I fix this, or is there another way for me to detect out of date software/drivers so I can at least try and find out if my drivers are the source of my occsional-but-still-often-enough-to-be-really-annoying blue screen problem?

  • G510 Windows 8.1 Pro X64 Conexant Audio Driver Error and Driver Update Request

When are we to expect some updates in the drivers for G510, specifically for both graphics (Intel and AMD)
Also I am using G510S's Lenovo Power Management for Windows 8.1(running with no issues) as Windows 8 version was not compatible and there is no Win8.1 version.
And there is an update available for Conexant Audio in windows update and after the update when ever I play music, a few seconds in the Audio Device stops(a red cross on volume icon) and then troubleshooter automatically runs and fixes the audio device and audio comes back.
Also I would like to request that you bring back Dobly Advanced Audio v2 that was available with WINDOWS 8 version of the driver. It was just much more convienient and I liked its graphics equilizer much better.

  • IdeaCentre K330 BIOS and Driver Updates Windows 8 (8.1 64 Bit)

I have a IdeaCentre K330 (i7) which I bought 3 Years ago. I have now Windows 8 64 Bit (8.1). And my BIOS Version is DKKT23AUS (BIOS Date 06/10/2011). Is there a newer BIOS version available ? There is on Lenovo site BIOS version 15 (Version DKJY15AUS), but I don't know if that is newer than mine. Can someone help ?
I have checked the Lenovo page to search for newer Driver Version. And I realized that the United States Lenovo site is different from the Chineese Lenovo Site. In the Chinese Lenovo Site there are new Drivers listed for the Windows 8 64 Bit operating system and newer versions od Drivers, but in the United States site there is nothing. Is it because the Chineese Site is more frequently updated ? Can I download the Drivers from the Chineese Lenovo Site (for example Realtek Audio Driver)? Will there be problems ?
Click HERE for the the Lenovo K330 Chineese Site. (Use Google Translate)
Click HERE for the Lenovo K330 United States Site.

  • S510p Touch and driver updates?

    All,
My wife bought me a Lenovo Ideapad S510p Touch for Christmas.   Seems like a pretty nice laptop so far (still getting used to Windows 8 and having a keyboard with a full number pad!).  We've had HP and Dell PCs before and both of those manufacturers have tools that identify new drivers that need to be updated.  I have not been able to find anything like that for Lenovo yet.  I seem to recall Lenovo took over IBM's PC business (versus some smaller vendor) so I would have thought they would have similar capabilities to the other big vendors.  Am I missing this somewhere on the PC itself or on the website?
    Thanks for your help!

For the Think product lines there is ThinkVantage System Update and other enterprise-focused tools to manage querying and updating drivers. There is no comparable tool to accomplish the same task on Idea and Essential systems. You'll need to visit your S510p device driver matrix: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?&DocID=DS037027 to monitor new releases.

  • HP OfficeJet gx85i and HP Laserjet 1200

I have a friend of mine who just bought a mac mini to be a file/print/backup server for his home network.
He has three printers plugged into the mini, an hp officejet gx85i, and hp laserjet 1200, and an hp photosmart printer.
Both the laserjet and the photosmart function fine without any additional software on the mini.
But, when I installed the gx85i software, the 1200 works sometimes -- meaning I have to unplug the 1200, remove it's configuration from the "print and fax" preference pane and plug the USB printer back in to get the printer to work again.
Anyone have similar problems or ideas for a fix?
    Thanks,
    Kenny

and it may be the g85xi.

  • Delay in prting HP laserjet 1200

JUst recently upgraded computer from windows XP. The new machine has windwos 7 64 bit. Trying to use my HP Laserjet 1200, and there is a long delay in printing anything.  This dealy is anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute. I can watch the little green light on the front of the printer blinking while I wait, it quits blinking & a second later the page prints. This is for evey page, if it is several copies of the same docuamnet I needed or multiple page document. When I print a 30 page document having this 1 minute delay between each page is rather frustrating. Of course once it does actually print then everything works great like it always has. I have tried using the Universal print dirver found on HP website as well as the one included in windows 7 both work the same. Any other suggestions?

Look for any pcl5 or postscript driver for any hp laserjet printer and try using it.  Most likely you are using the pcl6 driver which has a lot of overhead.  Also you may want to check the settings and see if you can reduce the dpi to 300.

  • ATI driver update

    Dear All,
I I have problem here. I would like to purchase 19" LCD monitor. But the resolution spec. 1440x900. But in the system perference I found following resolution.
    640x480
    800x600
    832x624
    1024x768
    1152x864
    1152x870
    1280x768
    1280x960
    1280x1024
    1344x1008
    1400x1050
    1600x1024
    1600x1200
    1792x1344
    1856x1392
    1920x1200
    1920x1440
But I found in ATI support side I found following ROM and driver update
    https://support.ati.com/ics/support/KBList.asp?folderID=614
My question is that does anybody install and use it before !? Does it can solve me problem !? please advise.
    Ciao,
    KK Lin

    Kk,
The resolutions you will find in system preferences depends on the monitor you attach. When you purchase and attach the 19" LCD monitor with 1440x900 resolution, then that 1440x900 resolution will magically appear in your choices from system preferences. You don't need to install anything.
The above assumes that the 19" monitor you are purchasing has a proper EDID implementation. If the manufacturer of the monitor botched the EDID, then this may not work as it is supposed to.

  • BIOS & Driver updates

I am having some gaming issues and it has been suggested that I check my motherboard BIOS and Drivers for updates.  I have a KM3M-V board.  I have run the MSI LiveUpdate program and it tells me that there are BIOS and Driver updates available.  However, I read Dr. Stu's sticky about flashing the BIOS and it has me a bit worried.  How can I tell what a version does (I see the description but I don't totally understand it) and if it will really help or not?  I am terrified of something going wrong and messing up my computer.

The issue I am having is with RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 w/Wet and Wild Expansion Packs.  Specifically the issues are since the second expansion (wild).  Initially there were a couple of issues, but updates to my memory, video and sound cards has greatly improved the speed and fps issues.  The remaining issue is that the game just suddenly exits itself in the middle of play.  More info, including a current dxdiag file, can be found here:  http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=508104 and here http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=508301.

  • Overall firmware & Driver Update

    Hi Dudes,
I asked me after a time, where the new firmware and driver updates for my internal hardware is.
Expample: I have this nice build in MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-846 with the firmware "FQ3T" So, is there anywhere a new Version of this? I have searched for it in google, and everything I found was an inofficial firmware page, which told me something from "Panasonic" and "Sony".
In fact, what DO I HAVE for a DVD-Drive? The System profiler only tolds me that thing above, but not, if it is sony, panasonic or something else. And if I would found it out, why is this firmware not shown in the "software updater"?
Same things for my internal audio system:
The Sys-Prpfiler tolds me, it's from Intel. Okay, fine. In Windows, I get moire information about it, but still not enough to search exactly for new drivers or firmware for this.
And what about my bluetooth-hardware? What about the iSight camera? Is even the Air-Port-technology in my MBP updateable?
The next point is my graphic card. Every month, there are new cataclyst drivers for windows availble. What about my Mac? I have this nice ATI X1600 card on my MBP, and I don't see any new drivers or firmware-updates.
What about Audio&Video codecs? Are they integrated in the OS, or can I update the codecs myself?
That my third-party programs get not updated through the "software updater" is logical, okay, THIS I can understand, because they are not implemented in the whole system (but it would be nice).
I can make me a small list to myself, which programs I have and I go through them one time per week to check up for updates. It works. Maybe I can make an automator-script for it, so that I dont have to check manually.
So, there are a lot of open questions.
    Greets,
    Sheva

    Sheva,
You are really interested in updating your firmware on a weekly basis for each of the individual components in your computer?!?!
That sounds a little bit neurotic.
Firmware updates aren't released all that often - they are usually a function of either bugs noted in the firmware, or as a result to keep up with new operating systems (for instance compatibility with say OS X 10.5).
Apple offers its firmware updates using the "software update" option on your Mac, as well as under the "downloads/apple" section of apple.com.
Firmware really isn't updated that often - certainly not on a weekly basis like you suggest. Just be sure to automatically download new software, or update your mac on a Bi-monthly or monthly basis, and you will have no problems.
As for your question regarding "third party software updates" there are programs out there that can search for you -
Version Tracker Pro can do this for you, as well as a Widget called "Auto update". It tells you which version you have, and which is the latest version.
