HP Photosmart 7510 efax set-up

I have set up my HP Photosmart 7510 printer to operate wieless.  I can print and I can write this message, but I can not register for efax because the printer panel says that I am not connected to the internet.

OK, the printer does not like the Westel DNS service - this is pretty common with DSLroutetrs.
Let's set a static IP address with an external DNS for the printer:
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.
- Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

  • Hp photosmart 6520 efax set up

I am not tech savy and dont recall registering my product. Does this need to be done in order to set up an efax account?

    Hi Ricky6,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that you would like to setup the eFax feature of your Photosmart 6520. First off, the printer does not need to have been registered for warranty purposes to use the eFax feature.
If you have installed the full feature software and drivers you should have an eFax icon in the HP Utility. I have included a document on getting started with eFax to assist you.  The eFax feature is tied into the ePrint feature so it is important that you have setup the ePrint feature. If you haven't setup the ePrint feature I have included a document with the steps to set up ePrint and how to customize the printer's ePrint email address.
Just a note, for ePrint to be setup the printer needs to be connected to your wireless network. This can be easily done from the front panel of your printer. The steps to do this can be found on page 31 of your user guide in the section titled "To connect the product with the Wireless Setup Wizard".  Once you have put the printer onto your wireless network don't forget to update your computer with the change from USB cable to wireless.  The steps on how to switch from the USB connection to wireless can be found on page 33 of your user guide.

  • Issue setting up eFax on HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One "Problem connecting to internet"

I'm having an issue setting up eFax on my new HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One. I am following the on-screen instructions and receive an error "Problem connecting to internet" when trying to register the account. The ePrint service is working, and I can use the facebook app on the printer so it seems to be connecting to the internet. I am uncertain how to resolve the issue.

Let's set a static IP address and external DNS for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.

  • Photosmart 7510 web services and efax no internet access

I finally got around to setting up my printer to work wirelessly.  Everything seems to be working ok on the home network.  I was also able to use the ePrint app on my iPad to print.  But...when I select a web service or try to register for efax it tells me the printer does not have internet access.  I did a quick check on my printer to give the printer a static IP to reduce problems later. I didn't see any issues with connectivity but may not have known what to look for.  I'm not to concerned about the the web service apps but do want to get the efax working.  According to the network configuration page I printed, the printer is connected, infrastructure mode, has an IP, and I'm not using MAC filtering.  So any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello @BM84 ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you are getting an error message from your Photosmart 7510.
    I would like to help.
For the web services portion, you could try setting a manual DNS.
I find Googles DNS works well with the printers.
    Primary: 8.8.8.8
    Secondary 8.8.4.4
The following post by happytohelp01 has the steps to set this up with pictures,
Efax 7510 still won't work after turning off/on ePrint several times

  • I have a photosmart 7510 Is efax the only way I can send faxes? can I fax it manually another way?

Is efax the only way I can fax with a hp 7510?

[Please do not post duplicate questions in the forum.]  The Photosmart 7510 only supports eFax, it does not have a phone line connection for a traditional fax.  The user manual can be downloaded from HP here.

  • Efax is a disaster on photosmart 7510

Efax is a disaster on HP photosmart 7510. I have tried many ways to make it works but have been impossible.

Hello , Welcome to the HP Forums, and thanks for posting! I can certainly understand your frustration with the issue regarding the eFax on your HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One printer. I'd love to help you with this. HP released an update to correct the issues with the eFax app on this printer. You can find the instructions to download and apply the update to your printer here: HP Photosmart 7510, 7515, ENVY 110, 114 Printers - Restoring eFax Service. I hope this helps!

  • Efax not working on HP Photosmart 7510

I have an HP Photosmart 7510. I have always been able to use efax on it until recently. When I attempt to connect to efax, it asks me to log-in or register. When I try to log in, it says "Unable to log in. Touch Try Again to attempt to login again now, or touch Cancel and try again later." If I try to register with a brand new e-mail address, it says "Registration was unsuccessful. Check that you are connected to the internet, then try again." I can log into efax on their website, but not with my HP Photosmart 7510.  I am able to use eprint services. I have sent something to my printer with eprint and it worked successfully. Eprint services and web services are both turned on. I have toggled on/off on both of them.  My printer is connected to a wireless network. My computer and my iPhone are both able to access the internet so I don't believe its an issue with my wifi.  I have turned the printer off and then turned the router off and then back on.   I printed a Wireless Network Test Results Report. The report says "No problems found" and has pass on everything.  I have unplugged the printer several times and then rebooted. I changed the DNS Server addresses to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4  respectively.  There are only 2 apps left on my main menu. When I attempt to touch an app, it gives me an error message "Your printer is not connected to a network. Please connect to a network and try again."  I turned firewalls off on my computer (Acer 5737Z with Windows 7).  What can I do? I think I have tried everything. Thanks so much for your help.

  • EFax unable to login - Photosmart 7510

I've used eFax up til today with no issues, when all of a sudden I got a prompt to log in to eFax on my 7150. Upon entering my credentials, I  get "unable to login".  I am pretty sure I know WHY this is happening, but don't know how to address it.
When logging in to the eFax site, you need to include dashes in between the area code, number, etc (i.e, 1-555-555-5555). Dashes are not an option when entering credentials on the 7510 (only #s - i.e, 15555555555).  I'm pretty sure that is why it's not letting me in, but could be wrong. I see no way to include characters other than numbers when entering my eFax credentials on the 7510.
I did a search and see a lot of other folks having issues logging in to eFax from their HP device, but no solutions other than to create a new eFax account.
Help from  HP or eFax would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • How do i set up an email address for an hp photosmart 7510/c311a.

it looks like an email address was an assigned during printer setup - or if it was, i can't find it. the printer is a photosmart 7510 / c311a. when i go to the eprint center to create an account, i get a forbidden -403 error message. any guidance would be much appreciated?

These steps typically resolve the issue:
    1. Press the ePrint button on the printer's front-panel screen (top row of icons, far left button), then press "Print Report".
    2. Head over to the ePrintCenter website (http://www.eprintcenter.com/), and log in (or sign up for a new account if you don't have one).
    3. Click the "+Add Printer" button and enter the printer code from the ePrint info page (“Print Report” page from step 1). Create a customized ePrint email address.
I just viewed the website on my computer, and it appears to be working okay on my end. It's possible that there's a setting in your web browser responsible for what you're seeing. I would recommend trying the following steps:
    1. Try to view the site in a different web browser to see if that's the issue. Normally, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari all display the website properly. Try one or two of those (other than the one you've been using) and it should do the trick.
    2. If that doesn't work, try resetting Internet Explorer's default settings by clicking "Tools" (on the top menu bar), "Internet Options" (usually at the bottom of that list), "Advanced" (far-right tab), and "Reset" (towards the bottom-right of that box). After resetting the defaults, try viewing the ePrint Settings area again.

Please e-mail me at {Personal Information Removed} my old e-mail no longer works.
I am set up with eFax and ePrint, but I cannot fax from my Photosmart 7510.  What do I do?

    Hello again thelids,
Please for your privacy, do not post any iformation that can identify you, such as email addresses, or phone numbers.  Now if you will go here and follow the steps under "Send a fax" it will tell you how to send a fax via eFax.  Honestly it is pretty much the same as sending a fax the traditonal way.  Just touch eFax, dial the number, put want you want to fax on the glass, or through the feeder no top, and start the fax.  If you need anymore help, let me know.

I just thought of something else you could try. Use the steps below to disable UPnP in the printers EWS,
    1. Typing the printers assigned IP address into the address bar of Internet Explorer. (you can get this from the report you would have printed while following the steps in the document I posted above)
    2. Click on the Network Tab at the top
    3. Select the Networking option on the left
    4. Click on UPnP option on the left
    5. Select the 'Disable UPnP' radio button
    6. Click 'Apply'
Also, I would like to disable to IPv6 on the printer. This setting can sometimes cause issues. Use the instructions below to disable the IPv6
On the front panel of the printer, touch the Wireless icon, it's the second of the four icons on the top.
Navigate through the Wireless menu to  Advanced Settings and go to IPv6
    Turn IPv6 off
I will watch for a reply from you. Thanks.
