  • Re: Error message with Recovery DVD creator

A few days ago i have purchased a new laptop Toshiba L650 12Z. I wanted to make the recovery dvd's.
I run the recovery DVD creator and after a while it gives the error "The file can not be read. E: / sources / boot.wim Error Code: 020150-20-00000000)" and the process stops. This I have tried several times, with the necessary waste of DVDs.
Does anyone know what to do in this situation.
    Thanks

Last step should be option given by Jeka. For recovery DVD creation I have always used DVD-R medias from Verbatim or TDK and have never had such problems.
Please try the same and use DVD-R medias only.

  • Recovery DVDs show error 0xe0ef000e

I bought a HP G-62 361TX Notebook PC in October and got a set of 4 recovery DVDs. A few days ago my system was malfunctioning so i decided to recover it to the factory state using those DVDs,so i booted my system using the first DVD and when the recovery manager started i selected th option to restore it to the factory state,it formatted my hard disc and started copying the files. At 27% it asked me for the next DVD, i inserted it and copying started from the second DVD. But at 49%, an error message occured displaying an error code 0xe0ef000e and the system rebooted. After rebbot the system showed Boot Manager Missing. What is this Problem and how can it be resolved? Will it be covered under warranty? Please reply as early as posible, I am facing a lot of problem.

Hi, There is certainly no harm in trying the procedure below - it simply wipes the Hard Drive before reinstalling the operating system.  Make sure though, that you have created the bootable CD mentioned in my previous posts - it's on the link below. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-80183-1&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en Now try the following process ( don't worry about the name KillDisk as all it does is wipe the Hard Drive ). Download and install Killdisk on the link below. http://software.lsoft.net/KillDiskSuiteFree-Setup.exe Download and install ImgBurn on the link below. http://download.cnet.com/ImgBurn/3000-2646_4-10847481.html Go to the Kill Disk application you have installed in All Programs, open the main folder, then select Bootable Disk creators and from that select Bootable DOS CD Creator which will burn the bootable ISO to a blank CD. During the next process do not worry about any warnings as your Recovery DVDs will reformat and partition the HDD. Insert this CD in to your PC that is unable to load Windows 7 properly. Shut the PC down, then start it again to boot from the Killdisk CD and follow the on screen instructions for Kill Disk. A brief description of the process is here Killdisk. Use this to wipe the whole of the Hard Drive ( f10 ) - ( make sure you include all partitions and then start the process - this may take a couple of hours! ).  When the drive is wiped, retry the process of first loading the bootable CD you created earlier, insert it into the system that is unable to boot, restart it and wait until you see a window with a green check mark.  Then remove the CD and insert your first Recovery DVD and restart the PC to start installing the Operating System. Let me know how you get on. Best wishes, DP-K

  • Can not use recovery DVD 'Wrong machine' error occurs

My Dealer/Service center replaced the motherboard when I had a start up problem. My recovery DVD which originally comes with the notebook does not work anymore. When I start recovery procedure follow message is shown: 'Wrong machine'.
Is it possible to download new one from the Toshiba website? If yes from where exactly?
My product is registered in October 2004.

    Hello
If you use wrong machine as searching term on this forum you will find many similar treads. When motherboard is changed DMI information must be updated. Without this info identification is not possible.
I recommend you to contact service again. They will update DMI info and you will be able to use recovery media again.
    Good luck!

  • Re: Recovery DVD tool starts with error message

    Hello.
Can anyone tell me why when I run "create recovery dvd tool" message appear with "unable to find recovery partition ..."???
It's a brand new Satellite A660-1c3 bought and opened today.

This happen if the recovery image is removed or deleted.
When you buy new notebook model and start it for the first time preinstalled image must be installed first.
So if you are able to use preinstalled operating system that means you got notebook with recovery image on it. I dont know what have you done but fact is that partitions structure or saved data is changed.
Have you changed something in disc management tool (expand partitions, changing partitions capacity)?

  • HP System Recovery DVD is not working

I've downgraded my HP 15-e0001ed from W8 to W7. I removed EVERYTHING from Windows 8, including the recovery partition en I did not make a recovery disk/back up (or something else) to eventually restore my OS to W8.
During the use of W7, i noticed that the fan was blowing really loud. I checked the HP website, and i noticed that all the drivers weren't compatible with W7. I installed some of the drivers anyway, but the problem with the blowing fan seems still there now and then. I then downloaded the ISO file from this topic and this is an evalution version of W8, which can be used for 90 days. I still want to use my 'original' W8 version, so I ordered a System Recovery DVD set.
When I insert the disk I can only open the content of the disk, but there is no autorun file or something like that. I then loaded the DVD's from the system recovery mode (when you press ESC during the start up of the laptop en you have the option to go to the BIOS). When the DVD then loads, I get the following error message:
This computer is not supported bij de System Recovery Media. You will not be able to continue to recover this system with these Media.
    Error: 0130-ABH-UUW.
Anyone knows what to do to get the recovery disks to work?
    Thanks!

Re: fan blowing loud all the time.. check in the BIOS in system configuration to ensure that the fan always on option is not enabled.
Is the wireless led shown as being enabled? (white=enabled amber=disabled) It needs to be enabled
You should be able to boot from disk one of the set. If that is not possible when you have selected the DVD as the first item in the boot list by using the F9 key then contact HP. The disk set may be faulty.

  • Windows 8 Recovery failed; Error code: 0xc000000f

    Hi,
I am having some trouble with my HP Envy m6 laptop.
I was using Windows 8 pro for almost a year without having any problem. After installing Win8.1 Pro, I had trouble booting and called in HP support and conducted a System Recovery. Everything was good but system was slower.
So, I backed up all data and then proceeded to do a Factory Reset (with HP Recovery Manager) with my HP Recovery DVDs which I have burned earlier. Everything seems to be working fine however the restoration failed (Incomplete restoration)! Tried couple of times but same problem.
While conducting some self-tests, 'Memory Test' (under Run-In Test) failed with "FAILURE ID: RGCD5F-6G56SV-XV7X0K-406803".
At the end, got following error:
    "Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired
A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed.
    Error code: 0xc000000f
You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacture."
I tried to reach HP Support since still have warrenty but unfortunately I just wasted my time talking to them. I purchased my laptop from Canada but currently living in Australia which made it really difficult to communicate with them.
Can anyone please give me some idea what I needed to do to resolve this issue? I went through several articles in here but failed to get the correct ones. Most of them are for Windows 7 and there are many differences in Windows 8!
I am urgently requesting some assistance from a HP expert who has experience dealing similar issues.
    Thank you.
    Best Regards,
    Suranjit

The failure ID that you have provided for the memory test means that the Checksum has failed. This means that it is not finding a part that should be available, but is not showing. After taking a look into the issue of the memory test failing, the most likely cause of the failure is one memory modules has failed. I have included a link to another HP Forum thread here. Please follow the steps that DavidPK has outlined.
For the recovery error message that you are getting, this means that an integral component used during startup can not be found. This error should resolve itself once the memory Checksum error is resolved.
If your notebook has two memory modules, you should be able to boot from the one memory module until the other one is replaced.
Please let me know the outcome of the troubleshooting, thank you.

  • Satellite A105-S361 Recovery DVD not booting

    Hello All,
I have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S361 series laptop. A week ago it had a virus and I thought to backup the data on the disk and reinstall that. I plugged out the HDD from laptop and plugged that into a SATA USB Interface to backup the data on my desktop and formatted the disk on my desktop using windows disk management services( I have windows XP on desktop).
Then I plugged the disk back into the laptop and inserted the recovery DVD (which has Windows XP home) and switched on the laptop while pressing 'C' key so as it could install it back to factory default.
A blank screen shows up displaying "Checking boot CD room". It runs for some 20 mins, the DVD ROM's light blinks and I can hear the CD revolving sound like its reading the CD, but after 20 mins it displays the error "No bootable CD found in ATAPI CD-ROM" and a cursor blinks on the screen.
I have tried other bootable cds, a couple containing windows XP and one containing WIndows Vista but same result for all. I have tried to change the boot sequence from BIOS and the F12 technique to display boot menu...
    Any help
    Regards,
    Talha
    Muhammad Talha

Well I have already cleaned the lens of the CD ROM. In fact this is the very first thing I did, it's a DVD-RW in good condition.
Tell me one more thing, is there a possibility that I could make a bootable USB and boot the system with the help of that, i.e. I copy the contents of the DVD Recovery in USB and boot the system with the help of that.
I did make an MS-DOS bootable USB but then found that the BIOS has no option to boot from a USB device. It only boots from one of HDD,FDD, CR-ROM or LAN. Or do I need to update BIOS first, if there is an updated version available for the A105-S361 series, to boot it from a USB device.
    Thanks,
    Talha

  • Restore from Recovery DVD fails

I am working on a customers Qosmio QF10-100, the original 60gb Fujitsu hard drive of which was failing as confirmed by a chkdsk -r on the drive and the amount of files repaired. Although the laptop booted after a repair lots of programs would not run nor parts of the OS including networking etc.
I therefore purchased a new Samsung 160Gb hard drive , installed it and ran the factory recovery DVD (which appears to put an image back on to the hard drive using Symantec Ghost).
The recovery process appears to finish ok but when I re-boot I get a quick flash of a Blue screen error which I cannot read and then the sytem reboots.
The system has Microsft Windows MCE 2005 installed so should be happy supporting a larger hard drive. Has anyone any ideas why the recovery fails.
Could this laptop need a bios update?
Also how do you get into the bios at startup I tried del and several function keys but I can't seem to get into setup to change the boot order.

  • HP Pavilion dv6500 recovery system error 0x400100200001005

Hi, I have HP Pavilion dv6663cl notebook and the drive broke. It can not be recovered thus I replaced with new retail drive.
I run the recovery system from dvd but failed at 51% and gave the error 0x400100200001005. I tried several times but it always failed at 51% and same error.
I run hdd diagnostics from bios and the new hdd passed.
The recovery dvd was created with the original hdd. I used it before and it was successful to do recovery on the original drive.

    Two possible causes.
1-Is the new hard drive at least as large a capacity as the original? Can be larger but not smaller.
2-Is the new hard drive an Advanced Format hdd-usually stamped with AF on label.

  • Can't make Recovery DVD "recording failure when writing disc 1 (20)" C500 with Vista

I keep getting this error every time I try to make recovery dvd's. I did a restore to factory condition and still  get this error. I even swapped out the DVD drive and still get the same error. Did a google search and this seems to be a common problem but didn't find any resolutions. This is a Presario C500 with Vista Basic and this is the first time I've tried to make Recovery  Discs. Thanks

Did you use high quality DVD+R media?

  • Recovery access error 0xc000000f

My recovery was working fine while ago. But after installing win7 32bit using recovery partition using F11, updating to Win 7 SP1 and deleting some personal files inside D partiiton, now 1.  getting error code 0xc000000f on booting to F11 recovery.2. My win7 OS is working fine. Also now created USB recovery drive using HP flash recovery win7 , booting into it gives same error code 0xc000000f 3. Then using win 7 DVD, tried repairingBootrec.exe
    bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup
    c:
    cd boot
    attrib bcd -s -h -r
    ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old
    bootrec /RebuildBcd
    bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot 4. But now,  on booting to F11, instead of recovery or error code 0xc000000f it just boot to win7 OS. But created USB recovery drive using HP flash recovery win7 , booting into it gives still same error code 0xc000000f

  • Using Win7 Recovery DVDs to bring Satellite L850-1C9 to "Out of the Box"?

    Hi,
I am trying to use the recovery DVDs for my Satellite L850-1C9, PSKDLE, to return my HD to the original condition.
Even though the hidden partition was there, I always got errors, for instance F3-F200-0002.
But this was not the only one.
I am at present time, wiping the HD to give it the appearance of being a replacement HD, that takes about 5hours.
I am unable to identify any online docs about how to correctly use the DVDs.
Can anyone give me a link as I appear to be using the wrong search argument on my Android Tablet.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Andy

    Hi
If you would use the Recovery DVD for system recovering, the hidden partition isnt very important in such case. Why? Because booting from the Recovery DVD would start the recovery process and would format the HDD and delete all partitions.
During this recovery process, the deleted partition would be created again.
The question is now: why does the error message appear?
It could be related to Recovery DVD issue. Did you already recover the notebook using the Recovery disk in the past? If its the first time trying to use these recovery disks then probably the disks have not been created properly.
At the other hand it could be possible that your HDD malfunctions and therefore the recovery process interrupts.
So from my point of few you need to check both cases.
