  • Why do i never have service anywhere and my phone always needs restoring?

Someone please help. My phone hardly ever works. It never has service. Sometimes, I will turn it off and back on, and I might get lucky enough for it to have service. It tells me daily "Iphone cannot make or recieve calls. Iphone needs to be restored.", so I restored it thinking that would resolve all of my problems, but it didn't. Do I need to put my sims card in a different phone?

If the phone is still malfunctioning after a restore, you need to make an appointment at the Genius Bar or Authorized Apple Service Provider to have the hardware checked.

  • I cant get service anywhere on my i phone 4

PLEASE HELP WHAT SHOULD I DO I CANNOT CALL OR TEXT PEOPLE I ALREADY RESET MY NETWORK SETTING AND I HAVE RESTORE IT LIKE 3 TIME PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!

In which case not much more you can do
You can take it to an Apple Retail store genius bar
and do a service exchange for a replacement ....£119 over the counter
or there is a mail in service for UK residents
or look at an upgrade to iPhone with O2

  • I just updated my iphone 3G to 4.2 and now I cannot get service anywhere?

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

    1. Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
    2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

  • Stand-alone Variable Manager available for download anywhere?

I'm experimenting with network variables. If I just want to copy my program to a PC that ha just the runtime installed, it doesn't work. Is there a way to install the Variable Manager without installing the whole CVI or building a distribution?
/* Nothing past this point should fail if the code is working as intended */

There isn't a standalone version of the CVI debugger, but you can debug remotely. If you can access the PC where you're having the problem from the PC where you have CVI installed, you can set up CVI to debug it remotely (Run>>Select Execution Target for Debugging>>New Execution Target). In the remote PC, you need to make sure that you're running a debug configuration of your program, and you also need to copy and run the configureremotedebugging.exe tool, which you can find in the bin folder under the CVI installation directory.
For more information, you should read the Using LabWindows/CVI>>Debugging Tools>>Remote Debugging topic in the CVI help.

I am running IE 11 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit Service Pack 1. When I attempt to install Flash Player, it goes through all of the steps, tells me the player is installed, and welcomes me. I cannot open the player and it does not appear in the Start Menu, Task Manager, System Tray, or anywhere else. When I try to open a file, the site tells me Flash player is not installed. I have even downloaded it to a separate folder and ran the install with IE shut down completely. And Shockwave in ENABLED but in 32 bit .I have been trying to get this to work for about 3 weeks now.  HELP!!!

Flash Player is a browser add-on, not an executable program.
If you need to open a local SWF file you will need the standalone player (Projector) from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Note that the download is the player, not an installer, so you will need to make the file association manually.

  • Worst Customer Service at Store # 438 - San Diego Mission Valley

For the second time I experienced last night the worst customer service at any store I've been too. I don't know if the employee (Jackie) is to blame or General Management (or Corporate Training Management) but I have been so unlucky to have to speak with this person for the second time. I will describe the two experiences to see if this is the kind of Customer Service training this people get:
The First time I talked to Jackie at the Customer Service desk I was there to return a Camera I had purchase and was not happy with it. This time she informed me of the 15 days return policy (never looking at me or my eyes, always looking down at the computer, never smiling, sounding rude and with a tone of voice of are you stupid?). I had to inform her I was an Elite Plus Member and I was entitled to a 45 days return policy. To my surprise even though she went into her system and verified I was an Elite Plus Member she dared to tell me: "Maybe when you bought the camera you were not an elite plus member, so you were not entitled to the 45 days return policy". Then I assured here this year alone I had spent already over 10,000 dlls at that particular best buy store (mostly) and I was definately NOT NEW to the Elite Plus program, even mentioned I had been a Silver Member since 2009 with no stop. To my surprise again she insinuated I was a liar and said: "How can I be certain of that?"...  I mean, are you for real? Do BB train people to talk this way to customers and call them liars? Why would I lie about this kind of thing? Why didn't she bother to check online when my Elite Plus Status kicked in?  Anyway after arguing for a while and having to put up with her she offered the refund in a Gift Card which I said FINE, I had to get going, and anyway I usually buy a lot of stuff here, so that would not bother me. But she made me feel not welcome at the store and made me consider other store options with good customer service.
As if practially being called a liar wasn't enough, last night I had my second encounter with this same Jackie rep at the Customer Service at the same store. This time I was there to exchange a ASUS Transformer Pad I had bought in Vegas (during a trip I made there). The tablet was defective and battery only lasted 1 hour. I received the same treatment, (never looking at me or my eyes, always looking down at the computer, never smiling, sounding rude). Never explained my options or said, don't worry we will take care. She seemed so unhappy as usual and kept me in suspense to see what was going to happen until I asked her. She then said she was waiting for someone to pass by and go get a new tablet (which I was hoping for). After a few minutes somebody passed by she asked for the tablet and at the time of procesing the exchange she tells me: "where did you buy the table?" I responded in Vegas. So she said, ok well, there is a CA recycle fee you have to pay now. I argueed, I am not buying it, I bought it in Vegas and it was defective, I am only exchanging it, why am I am being now charged 3 dollars more?  To my surprise what she responded was: "well, this is the way it is, if you don't like it, then go back to Vegas and exchange it there" (on a very "are you stupid" kind of voice)...  Seriously I had enought and said, OK just charge my card and write your name on the receipt (which she gladly did).
I don't know if she is to blame or the Management at the Store is, but she obviously lacks people skills and definately has zero training. She knew I was an Elite Plus Member again and did not care to be a bit nicer about it. Honestly I had never experienced this kind of service anywhere before, she made me so upset I did not even want to talk to the General Manager or whatever available manager because I was then going to be extremely rude and I don't like to be that way. So I had to go home and cool down.
Then I decided to fill up the customer feed back and write about my experience, but I am also hoping to reach the corporate offices with this post. I am hoping the store gets a service audit in case you have any interest in us (customers) coming back and purchase at the store. People are moving to purchase online and there are plenty of stores and good offers to take advantage of, but I am one of those who love the store purchase experience (not at this bestbuy thought).
To finish my post I am telling you last night I had the intention to get a 4K 55" TV at the store after my exchange. Ask me if I went ahead with my 1,800 dlls purchase?

    Hello saulillo,
There is never a circumstance where it is appropriate for our associates to behave in the manner that you describe. In addition, it is imperative that our representatives are informed on our policies and procedures -- such as our Return & Exchange Promise -- so that your experience is both smooth and painless. I apologize for your having to cope with such unprofessional behavior and incorrect information.
I will pass your remarks in full along to the store leadership team. It is my hope that they will use your feedback to ensure that you -- and our other customers -- have an improved experience on your next visit.
I am extremely grateful that you took the time to write to us about your experience.

  • What portion of Web services is using port 9010

I can't manage to find documentation anywhere which states what portion of Web Services uses port 9010. I'm setting up a Snow Leopard server (all current updates installed) for a client, and they need to use Readerware for their library database and management: http://www.readerware.com/.
The server component kept throwing errors about port 9010 when it would start as it uses 9010 as its "control port" in communications with client software. Readerware support pointed me in the direction of Web Services, though just turning them off doesn't fix the problem. Even though a Port Scan in Network Utility shows 9010 as clear after flipping the big switch in Server Preferences, Readerware still throws errors and refuses to work correctly. Only if I switch off Web Services, reboot the server, and immediately start Readerware, will it work. If I turn Web Services on, Readerware continues to operate correctly until the server component is quit and relaunched. Then, 9010 port-in-use errors again.
My Snow Leopard Server install is still fairly virgin, and I haven't done anything to change Web Services other than turn it on and off. No software firewall is running. The Webmail component of Web Services is turned off as the Mail service itself is turned off. The obvious solution to me would be to customize the control port of Readerware, but they don't seem to offer that option.

to add more to this, the Apache server status page on 9010 (http://localhost:9010/server-status/) appears to be localhost only
That's absolutely correct. You don't typically want to expose the data that /server-status and /server-info give to the outside world.
So would commenting this out actually break Sever Admin?
Yes, because Server Admin doesn't communicate with Apache over port 9010.
Server Admin.app talks to servermgrd, a daemon process that runs on Mac OS X Server. Server Admin.app tells servermgrd what information it wants and servermgrd collects that data and returns it to the GUI app.
Since servermgrd lives on the server itself it's quite capable of communicating with Apache on localhost port 9010.
The other possible solution to your problem is to configure your other app so that it listens on a specific IP address rather than * - that way localhost:9010 can be the regular apache/Server Admin interface, while 192.168.1.2:9010 could be your ReaderWare app (if it supports this kind of configuration).

  • How to log on to visual admin and create destination service

    Hi all,
I see this statement everywhere while trying to configure adobe forms.
*it was only the HTTP destination FPICF_DATA_<SID> that was not created in the Visual Admin under Cluster -> Services -> Destinations*_
    I got 2 questions here:-
    1. the programs "FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE" runs fine w/o destination check box. andwith the check box it gives the error "ADS: Request start time: Thu Nov 26 12:07:42 ........". SO how to resolve this. I have checked the blogs before and I did everything so far and stuck at the statement given above in bold.
    2. What  is this destination fp_icf_data_sid........... where to look for, I understand u need to log on to visual adm. But how is there a sap transaction "AL11" or from the web url.   if it is web url  ...   "http://server_name:port/ ....." then I am lost after this I dont see anything called cluster and services anywhere....
And if am looking for visual admin at wrong places please provide step by step guide. I have seen steps to log on to visual admin on wesites but i dont know what am i doing, thats not clear. If someone can help from here.
    Thanks,
    Anu.

The Visual Administrator is a Java tool installed during the installation of a Java AS. It is a separate tool that can be copied and used remotely if desired. On a system running Java AS it can be found under /usr/sap/<SID>/JC00/j2ee/admin - just run 'go' under Linux/Unix or 'go.bat' under Windows. You must have Java installed on your remote system.
Once you have logged into your Java AS system using the Visual Administrator you can then setup your "Destinations", located under Server -> Services.
Check Note 944221 - Troubleshooting if problems occur in forms processing ...which will make clear the errors you are experiencing and help you solve them.

  • My service has been turned off even though I returned phone?

I am so unhappy with Verizon! I have been a Verizon customer (loyal) for over 13 years now. I always loved them, bragged about them, encouraged friends, family and clients to sign up with them as well. Until last year. I sucked it up every time I upgraded my phone and they took away privileges (unlimited this or that......) because I thought that is the way everyone is going now. I was so excited to use my upgrade in October of 2012. I was counting the days! Literally on my calendar! I originally ordered the new i-Phone 5 until I heard I could get the 4 for free. So, 4 days before I was slated to receive my new 5, I ordered the 4 instead. Biggest mistake EVER! First of all, I had a Droid X, which I LOVED, but I bought my daughter the i-Phone 4 for Christmas the year before and I wanted the ability to Facetime with her. Also, my coworkers also had i-Phones, so when a group text went out, I got tired of downloading each message separately.
My i-Phone never held a charge longer than 7-8 hours right out of the box! My daughters lasts 2 days new, easily. Even after a year, it still lasted longer than my brand new one. The sound is barely audible on the highest volume. So, couldn't use my alarm at all. Too quiet. Missed a ton of phone calls for work because I couldn't hear it ringing. In addition to being self-employed and working full-time, I was also enrolled in college full-time, a single mom, etc. No time to be on hold, just to be disconnected.....but that is what happened! Not only did I not get service anywhere on campus (my Droid got service everywhere except the middle of one building), I could not call Verizon customer service between classes. At work, I am too busy (hairstylist) so when I DID have more than a minute, I tried calling Verizon.
The first time I called, I must have pushed the wrong button at the end of the auto-you-pick-maze. Hung up. Client showed up and was too busy the next two days to call again. Second call: got through and she said she would connect me to the right department and I got an out of service message. You know, the kind with the 3 raising beep, beep, beeps? This number is no longer in service etc.........Weird. No time to call til the next day. FINALLY got ahold of someone! SO happy! He told me to call from another number and he was looking at my phone somehow (weird, but ok) and I was on the phone with him for 20 minutes and had to get to class. (Remember how I said my phone didn't work on campus?) The gentleman from Verizon PROMISED to call me back at an agreed upon time and never did! I told him how hard it is for me to make time and the difficulties I have had with trying to get through and he promised!!
By then, so fed up, was ready to cancel my Verizon account and transfer to the competitor. Decided when I had time (after the quarter was finished and holidays over) that I would go into the store and deal with it. Of course by now, it had been too long so they said they would give me a $90 credit for my i-Phone (they swore it wasn't refurbished and they would NEVER sell a used one as new but now I don't believe it) and I could pay the difference on another phone. Not happy but desperate to get a phone that worked, I chose a cheaper Droid. The Samsung Stellar. When I told my daughter they charged me $250 for that phone, she was furious! She said that was a total rip off. Even worse, when the new phone arrived, it was not even new! It was refurbished. Whatever. STILL desperate to have a working phone, I followed the directions to activate it. It never activated. The running circle on the screen went round and round and never stopped.
I am SO OVER THIS!!!! I brought it down to FedEx and shipped it back. During the billing cycle in between, I paid my normal bill minus the replacement phone charge. On Saturday, I get a message from Verizon saying they are turning my phone off (can't remember the exact terminology they used) if I did not bring my account current. Through another maze of automated-you-pick-menus, I was able to choose a button that told them my overdue payment was in the mail. Technically, it was. Tonight, no service on my phone. Checked FedEx tracking number and they received the phone yesterday!! I AM SO FED UP!!!
Now, I am reading the forums and realize I am one of MANY who this has happened to and it looks like the fun is just getting started. Looks like they will say the box is empty first (as per other reviews on here) then, after a couple months, they will "find" the phone..........I am still stuck with a ****  i-Phone 4. I never thought Verizon would treat me this way.  Guess this is what happens when a company gets too powerful. They don't care about the customers anymore. I think I am going to bite the bullet, pay the early termination fee and never look back. I hear AT&T is offering a great deal for new customers right now............

Hey Salonsister.  I want to start off by saying I admire all that you do as a single mother.  That is awesome that you are able to go to school full time, have a full time job, and raise a family. You truly are a hard working person, keep up the great work.  With all the hard work you do, we absolutely want to do everything we can to make this easier on you.
I am sorry to learn about all the phone issues you have been having.  The iPhone 4 is a great device and I truly am sorry to hear that it gave you so many issues.  I completely understand that you are busy, but I am confident that if given the chance to troubleshoot that we would have been able resolve the issues you were having.
The Samsung Stellar you purchased was most likely a Certified Pre Owned device.  If you were not upgrade eligible this would have been your least expensive option.  The phone at full retail is $329.99 so by going with a Certified Pre Owned device you saved $100.00. For more information on the Certified Pre Owned program please visit http://vz.to/rcDvLW.
I understand that it didn't activate, but again if given the chance to troubleshoot I am positive we could have gotten that up and running for you.
When you shipped the device back? Did you ship it back within the 14 day Worry Free Guarantee? When purchasing a device or an accessory you have 14 days to return the device from the point of purchase for a full refund.
If you let a balance run past due, you do run the risk of having your services interrupted. I know you returned the phone and all, but that balance was due as a part of that bill which was due on whichever date your bills are normally due.  The adjustment would than appear on the next bill.
Did you receive an alert that the device was received? If not, did we file an investigation for you?
We truly do care salonsister and it would be sad to see you go. I am here to assist and I know we can get this straightened out for you. Please provide additional details to the questions I asked and I will continue to assist.

  • After updating my 3gs to ios5 nothing works properly the phone is slow, no service, rapid battery drain, excessive heat when in use for longer periods of time, does not connect to vehicle stereo through usb, and screen is on but not responding to control

my 3gs battery dies rapidly and gives off excessive heat when in use no service anywhere, slow reponse time sometimes not at all like lights on but no one home, calls drop can text  no 3g can not connect to vehicle usb as a note i restored the phone from my back up

Same problems, unfortunatley I updated to 5.0 1 hour before going on holiday for three weeks and no way to restore my phone to try to remove it.At the same time, drop outs, range problems and the most annoying was my music and apps were corrupted and would not function properly :-(

  • Apple customer service

so I've had some issues with my battery, sometimes it was only 2 hours usage and i was having to recharge, took into the apple store today. told the genius about my problem, 2 minutes later i have a brand new iphone in my hand!!!!!!!!
you wouldn't get that kind of service anywhere else.
    thanks apple!!!!!!!
by the way the new tariffs are excellent.

I got a new BT headset this way at the Genius bar, even though I bought the headset a week earlier from ATT. Apple is one of the few companies with the insight: if a new device has a problem they'll have to replace it for anyway, why make you jump through hoops or spend person hours trying to figure out what the issue is? It's not only good customer service, it's efficient business.

  • Why can't Verizon help when my phone has no service where there IS service for everyone else on Verizon?

I have just been on hold with Verizon tech support for an hour and then they terminated the call without ever connecting me to anyone. I have made 4 calls on this issue and was on hold for more than 30 minutes each time. Nobody could assist because I was on a land line. The last person told me to go where there was another cell phone and then call tech support. I did that but no tech support available. They kept saying "sorry you are still having trouble, goodbye." My home is served by a land line and I live where there is NO cell phone service. I rely on my cell phone when I go to town or are on the road. I found out last week that my phone is no longer finding service. It may have not been in service for more than a month and I never noticed. Perhaps its activation got screwed up when I looked into upgrading on the web not and did not or perhaps Verizon is forcing me to upgrade by cutting me off. Now I have no service anywhere and can't get any human assistance. Does anyone out there have an email address I can write to?  I will keep calling next week but THERE IS NO VERIZON SUPPORT ON HOLIDAYS or WEEKENDS.  There is no real online help for my device. My bill is current.  HELP!!! Verizon should deduct by bill (I'll accept the minimum wage) for every hour I spend on hold or talking to tech support people who can't offer any support.

This is a peer to peer customer forum. We customers can't see your account. Just our own account.
When was the last time you updated your phone's programming and preferred roaming list? When you are connected to a strong Verizon Wireless signal, dial *228, option 1 and then 2.

  • Activated iPhone 4, but can't get any service...just says "Searching..."

So I purchased an iPhone 4 and activated it with my number.  Verizon account says phone is activated with my number, and I set it up with iTunes and all that good stuff.  However, I can't get any service at all.  The rest of my family all has iPhone 4 and they get 3G coverage in our house no problem, but I can't seem to get service anywhere.  I have tried everything in the book; reset network settings, reset all settings on phone, soft reset, updated to newest IOS, dialed *228 and pressed 2 to get new PRL, turned it on and off multiple times, etc .  Still can't seem to get service, just keeps saying "Searching.." where the bars should be.  Just wondering if there are any other steps I need to take.  Appreciate any and all feedback.

        Hi Snyder23,
I am sad to hear about the problems with your new iPhone 4! That is a great device. Thanks for all the troubleshooting your have done so far. It appears your phone might be faulty. Are you still within your 14 day Worry Free Guarantee? If so, we can exchange it for another device. If not, you can visit your local Apple store for a hands on evaluation. Keep us posted.
