I downloaded setup from HP for a new computer.
Now when I try to print, the "Fax" box comes up. How can iI get it to print?

Hello Richard,
in the "Print" dialogue select "Contact Sheet", then press the "Customize" button.
In the Customize view you can rearrange your images by dragging them around.
Just a work-around, but I hope this helps.

As someone who has to print from my Mac to a networked printer at home all the time, I can certainly understand how frustrating it must be to have that fail to perform as expected. Let's see if we can get you up and running.

Numbers (v. 3.5.2) is freezing when I try to print the second sheet of my spreadsheet

I have a spreadsheet that I am trying to print. I print the first sheet fine but when I try to print the second sheet, even though I can see the document and print dialogue it won't let me click on anything, click done to exit printing or do anything in the document I made.
Even when I restart my computer, it just opens the spreadsheet up to the print dialogue and it is frozen. Any help?

Okay, regarding this problem:
I'm trying to print to an Advent AW10 printer from an Imac running Yosemite 10.10.1 and it's been driving me nuts for the last two months...
I got on to Advent yesterday and recieved this instruction from their support team this morning and it worked and I'm now printing away merrily:
Please follow below steps:
In Spotlight search window type Terminal and then press Enter.
This should bring up the terminal window/program.
In the Terminal type:
sudo sh -c 'echo "Sandboxing Relaxed" >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf' then press Enter.
It will ask for your password. Please enter system password.(You will not see password entering)
After that type following:
sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd then press Enter.
Try Printing.
I don't think this is specific to Advent and is rather simply an 'opening up' of something blocking the 'printer channels' (layman's terms obviously)

Did you buy this directly from Apple or from elsewhere. I've never heard of Lightroom coming pre-installed so it sounds like you MBP might not really be "new."

It sounds like you are unable to print to your printer from Mac OS X Lion. I recommend the troublehsooting from the article named:

Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:
Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.

Hi, When I try to print from my Macbook Pro , through my Airport to the usb connected printer like I've been doing with my old Macbook for years. I get this message in the print que,,Network host" is busy; will try in 5 seconds, then 10 seconds, then 15 etc.etc. indefinitly. Also I'm wondering if this same problem is related to the fact that I can't connect to SYKPE? I do connect to the internet daily with this same machine through my Airport, although it does drop the connection pretty often. When that happens I go up stairs and unplug the Airport for a few seconds then let it reboot. Then it seems to work for 4 or 5 days???

Troubleshooting a start up script can be difficult. There are some third party programs that also keep logs of start up programs, however for Firefox this may be different.

Its also possible to check the Web developer tools for any scripts in a page: [https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Debugger]
In the control panel there is also Administrative tools to view event logs, but this may be something a local technician can walk you through.

Firefox crashes when I try to fill the adress box on Hotmail

Firefox crashes every time I try to fill in the adress box of a mail on Hotmail. It then sends an error message saying :
Silverlight safari internet plug in quit unexpectedly
Problem details and system configuration.... ......
I downloaded safari again and replaced the old version but the problem persists.
Please do not tell me to check with the Hotmail support team as they told me it was a browser related problem which I had to check with you !

Thank you for this post but... I have a mac and if I am on Firefox and go to "Tools", there is no > "Options" to click on (so no way to reach : Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now")

Downloads
Add ons
Erros console
Page info

Clear recent history
On Safari, which has the same problem except it doesn't shut down but just send the error message, no "Tools" at all !
Plus, I have to say that my knowledge of computers is really poor and this to me is chinese :
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
No idea how to start safari in safe mode...

I just purchased an IMac with lion and I tryed to install an old math program that is for winmac running systems. When I try to boot the cd it comes up with a notepad window with a bunch of weird symbols and codes but the program will not start up.

I just purchase my first IMac with lion and I was trying to install a math program I bought 6 years ago. When I went to boot it off the disk while following the program instructions a window popped up with a note pad format with symbols and codes but the program would not download or open. How do I get this program to work? It is a mac compatible program by the way.

Your Mac probably does not know with which application to open the file and is opening a file with a text editor that really needs to be opened by the application itself. Try starting the application first, then use the File > open command to open the file.
As varjak paw comments, there isn't a "winmac" so that's not telling us anything.
Note that it is possible that software purchased 6 years ago may no longer run on your computer. Once we know what it is we can help more.

When i have a web page which includes an SVG file that spans 2-3 pages, if i try to print the web page it only prints the first page.

Basically, i have an html file that embeds a large SVG file. When i try to print the html file, FF only recognizes the first page - basically the second, third, fourth pages do not appear. Is this a known issue with FF?
Can it be fixed?
FYI - Google Chrome allows you to print the other pages but unfortunately headers/footers cannot be controlled and thus overwrite some of the SVG content.

Anyone?
