Error in ABAP Docs 2.1 tool?
Hello Experts,
Have anyone tried ABAP Docs 2.1 tool in SAP version 4.7?
While installing the tool, i found some issues for which i need some clarifications.
Is the ABAP Docs tool only applicable for Ecc 6.0 and above? Since the documentation of this tool has all the screen shots of ECC 6.0 system.
I have tried it in SAP version 4.7. While executing "ABAP Docs 2.1 Cockpit" transaction, it goes for a short dump, stating that SAP_BOOL (data type used in public section of class ZFLC_ALV_GRID_GC) is not available. SAP_BOOL data type doesnot exist in SAP v4.7. But it is available in SAP ECC 6.0. I have checked it.
What are the pros and concerns to be taken care, when i need to install the tool in SAP v4.7? What are all the issues i will face other than the error SAP_BOOL?
Please help me with your valuable suggestions.
Thanks and Best Regards,
SureshNo proper responses.

How to import .E60 files(ABAP Doc 2.1)
the readme file says:
"Ask your BASIS consultant to import these files to your SAP development system. "
files:K901003.E60
R901003.E60
I don't know how to import, can anyone tell me ?thanks!thanks for your reply,
I did what you say step one,
but the step two I can't find the path,
and the readme file says:
Since ABAP Docs is a development tool for ABAP developers, it should be installed only on the SAP development box. There is no need to move it to SAP Q&A and production systems.
so,is it need to do step two:"Now login to sap level go to STMS -> Extras -> Add request -> enter the request and import"?
thanks ! -

ABAP Documentation Generation, Javadoc-like
Hello everyone,
I've got one topic to discuss that I do not find very much information about on SCN. It's about documentation. and I don't mean SAP documentation like help.sap.com, but the documentation about the software we (=developers) are producing by writing ABAP-code. That thing that we tend to neglect.
So is there any tool that is similar to [Javadoc|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Javadoc], something like a ABAP Documentation Generator? A tool that generates a code-based documentation out of the source-code comments? As far as I know, there is no such functionality in the ABAP workbench. The only community project I found was ABAP Docs, but that seems to be inactive and is not even accessibly online.
How do you document your software? Do you use external tools, anything that is integrated into the SAP system? Or is it a completely segregated solution like we use in my company (Word)? What strategies do you use to create Architecture Documentation, Technical Documentation and End User Documentation?
It seems to me that there are lots of software solutions that can create modern documentation including different formats, layout templates, guidelines etc. But I haven't found anything related to ABAP development. Maybe the best example is Wikipedias [Comparison of documentation generators|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_documentation_generators]. Just search for ABAP.
I am looking forward to read about your experiences in documenting ABAP software!Surprisingly (more or less) the list has no entry for a tool that supports ABAP, that was my point.
In the [Language support|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_documentation_generators#Language_support] table there is an Any With Comments column. Looking at the examples for [Natural Docs|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_Docs] and [ROBODoc|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ROBODoc], they might work for ABAP too. YMMV
Hope this helps,

How to use this FUNCTION VIEW_MAINTENANCE
hi
i create a table zxxxx and set Data Browser/Table View Maint:
Display/Maintenance Allowed.
so i want to use the function of "VIEW_MAINTENANCE" to update and create new
inforation the TABLE.
but i don't know VIEW_MAINTENANCE which of parameter meaning.
and how to control it.
who can give demo show.
CALL FUNCTION 'VIEW_MAINTENANCE'
EXPORTING
VIEW_ACTION = 'S' "DISPLAY
VIEW_NAME = W_VIEWNAME "W_TABNAME
TABLES
X_HEADER = L_VIMDESC
X_NAMTAB = L_VIMNAMTAB
DBA_SELLIST = L_VIMSELLIST
EXCL_CUA_FUNCT = L_VIMEXCLFUN.
what meaning and availability value : EXCL_CUA_FUNCT-FUCNTION ,
how to use X_HEADER
X_NAMTAB
DBA_SELLIST these parameter.
thank you very much. Please check doucmentation maintained for FM - VIEW_MAINTENANCE.
CUA functions to be deactivated dynamically
At runtime, the table EXCL_CUA_FUNCT must contain all those functions which are not to be callable in data processing , i.e. which are to be dynamically deactivated in the CUA interface at runtime. This is useful, e.g. for the following functions whose handling in cluster maintenance is ambiguous:
- 'ANZG' --> switch from 'Change' to 'Display' mode,
makes no sense in a maintenance cluster
- 'AEND' --> switch from 'Display' to 'Change' mode
makes no sense in a display cluster
- 'xxxx' --> other functions at the callers discretion.
The table must have the structure VIMEXCLFUN, as follows:
FUNCTION(4) TYPE C, ---> contains the function codes to be deactivated dynamically
MESSAGE(3) TYPE C. ---> online help auxiliary field (not yet supported)
Return ->
CUA functions to be deactivated dynamically
Database Access Selection Conditions The table DBA_SELLIST contains the database access selection conditions. The following fields must be filled:
Field name Contents
NEGATION NOT, if the condition is to be negated
SPACE otherwise
VIEWFIELD name of the field to which the condition is to apply
OPERATOR logical operator of the condition (e.g. 'EQ', 'NE',...)
VALUE comparison value of the condition in external format
AND_OR AND, if the next line of the condition is to be linked
to the current line by logical AND
OR , if the next line of the condition is to be linked
to the current line by logical OR
SPACE, if no further line follows
DDIC S, if the view field in DD is flagged as a subset field
(PM = 'S')
SPACE otherwise
TABIX Index of the view field in the view nametab
Notes:
1. Valid operators are: (see also ABAP doc.)
EQ - equals
NE - not equal to
GT - greater than
GE - greater than or equal to
LT - less than
LE - less than or equal to
CA - only for strings: contains at least one character of the comparison string
CN - only for strings: negation of CA
CO - only for strings: contains only characters from the comparison string
NA - only for strings: negation of CO
CP - only for strings: contains the pattern in the comparison string
NP - only for strings: negation of CP
CS - only for strings: contains the string in the comparison string
NS - only for strings: negation of CS
LK - like the LIKE operator in a SELECT ... WHERE clause
2. The function module does not (yet) check whether the selection conditions passed here are compatible with any conditions in the Data Dictionary view definition. The caller must ensure that this is the case.
Return ->

Jayita GangulyHi,
Jayita2011 wrote:
LV_X = WA_PDF-TDLINE.
As WA_PDF-TDLINE is type C, and LV_X is type X, it does a conversion BUT it is not what you expect: LV_X = 'RMjlùIOJM%8RUZ3T', it will set LV_X = all zeroes as 'RM...' does not start with an hexadecimal string (and so base 64 would return AAAAAA). See the ABAP doc for more info.
Moreover, base 64 encoding must be done with the whole byte stream (more precisely you must not split it outside chunks of 3 bytes, as this encoding converts 3 bytes into 4 characters, converting 2 bytes makes no sense for example, except at the end of the stream).
I advise you to use CL_HTTP_UTILITY=>ENCODE_BASE64 which converts a string which is casted as bytes. Before, you must concatenate the lines into a string, either using CONCATENATE LINES OF lt_char INTO l_target RESPECTING BLANKS, or SWA_STRING_FROM_TABLE (keep_trailing_spaces='X') depending on your release. Don't forget to shorten the string at exactly the number of representative characters (LV_I in your example).

Hi All ,
Can anyone please send me the Docs or link for Web Dynpro ABAP .
Thanks in advance
RahulHi,
Web Dynpro ABAP
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/db22242d-0701-0010-28a2-aeaa1fefd706
Also, I have the official Web Dynpro for ABAP documentation. Please let me know if I should send it to you.
Hope that the following also helps you.
Web Dynpro for ABAP (WD4A, WDA) is the SAP standard UI technology for developing Web
applications in the ABAP environment. It consists of a runtime environment and a graphical
development environment with special Web Dynpro tools that are integrated in the ABAP
Workbench (SE80).
Web Dynpro offers the following advantages for application developers:
? The use of declarative and graphical tools significantly reduces the implementation
effort
? Web Dynpro supports a structured design process
? Strict separation between layout and business data
? Reuse and better maintainability by using components
? The layout and navigation is easily changed using the Web Dynpro tools
? Stateful applications are supported that is, if the page is changed and the required
data remains intact so that you can access it at any time throughout the entire
application context.
Note that stateless applications are not possible.
? Automatic data transport using data binding
? Automatic input check
? Automatic operation of the Web Dynpro application using the keyboard
? User interface accessibility is supported
? Full integration in the reliable ABAP development environment
Web Dynpro Architecture
Definition
Web Dynpro is the SAP NetWeaver programming model for user interfaces (UIs).
The Web Dynpro model is based on the Model View Controller paradigm, and has the
following features that build on the classic dynpro model:
? Clear separation of business logic and display logic
? Uniform metamodel for all types of user interfaces
? Execution on a number of client platforms.
? Extensive platform independence of interfaces
Structure
Metamodel Concept
Web Dynpro provides support for developing Web representation of a business application.
You use specific tools to describe the properties of a Web Dynpro application in the form of
Web Dynpro metadata. The necessary source code is then generated automatically and
executed at runtime. In addition to the events offered by the framework, you can also define
your own events for a Web Dynpro application. However, the event handling must always be
programmed in separate source code areas which are executed automatically when the event
is triggered at runtime.
In Web Dynpro, each user interface is always made up of the same basic elements. These
elements of the metamodel can be statically declared using Web Dynpro tools.
It is also possible to implement elements of the metamodel at runtime and to change them or
reintegrate them at runtime. Using these implementations, you can make any changes or
enhancements to a user interface that has been created by declarative methods by
generating new interface structures at runtime.
This means that you can combine declarative processes and the implementation of source
code.
Graphical Development Tools
To support this declarative concept, both the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio and the
ABAP Workbench contain a range of Web Dynpro tools. You can therefore generate a large
proportion of a Web Dynpro application using the tools provided, without having to create your
own source code. This applies to the following parts of the application:
? Data flow between the front end and back end
? Layout of the user interface
? Properties of user interface elements
The Web Dynpro tools enable you to create source text areas manually within generated
source texts. These areas are not changed if the source code is regenerated.
Separation of Business and Application Logic
Using Web Dynpro enables a clear separation of business logic and display logic. A Web
Dynpro application runs on the front end and has local or remote access to the back end
system via a service. This means that the display logic is contained in the Web Dynpro
application, while the business logic and the persistence of the business objects run in the
back end system. The following options are currently available for connecting Web Dynpro
applications and the back-end system:
? An interface generated using adaptive RFC, through which BAPIs of an SAP system
can be called
? An interface for calling Web services
? A self-generated interface
The source code required for connecting the Web Dynpro application can be generated
from a UML definition of the Web Dynpro interface. A UML definition can be imported
into the Web Dynpro tools as an XML file.
Conversion of the Model-View-Controller
Conversion of the Model-View-Controller Programming Model
Every Web Dynpro application is structured according to the Model View Controller
programming model:
? The model forms the interface to the back end system and thus enables the
Web Dynpro application access to data.
? The view is responsible for the representation of the data in the browser.
? The controller lies between the view and the model. The controller formats
the model data to be displayed in the view, processes the user entries made by the
user, and returns them to the model.
