HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION and Dynamic Actions

Does HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION trigger Dynamic Action?
If not, how this needs to be handled?

your best bet would be the person who created the dynamic action.. usually the functional analyst.. you can take a look at the entries in v_t588z via SM30/31.Once you display the entires, an F1 on each field on the screen will tell you what it is for & F4 will give you the possible options..

  • HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION within Dynamic Action

    Hello,
    I am calling HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION from within the Dynamic Action.  I can debug through it and even have it display the screens and everything appears to work fine.  The return structure is clear of any errors and the key structure indicates that the 'MOD' was done with no problem.  The infty is 2012.
    However once the dynamic action is complete the 2012 records have not been updated.  I am passing blank for the no_commit parameter on the FM.
    Does HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION with a 'MOD' operation work from within the dynamic action?
    Regards,
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,
    I am not sure if I get you right. But as for DB commit, it will be triggered automatically once SUBMIT statement is executed (as work process is released). What I have in my program is as follows:
    - in T588Z table (dyn.actions) I have invoked subroutine from my custom program
    POPUP_SELECTION_FOR_IT0015((YPLPY_PRO_RE_QUOTAGEN1).
    - In this YPLPY_PRO_RE_QUOTAGEN1 program I write subroutine wherein I do some coding and submit another report (which do real update).
    form POPUP_SELECTION_FOR_IT0015.
    "some coding - in my case I am filling P0015 strcutre (as this infotype has to be udpdated) while dyn. action is triggered for IT2002
        P0015-PERNR = LS_PSKEY-PERNR = P2002-PERNR.
        P0015-SUBTY = LS_PSKEY-SUBTY = P0015-LGART = LGART = IT_RET-FIELDVAL.
        P0015-BEGDA = LS_PSKEY-BEGDA = DATUM.
        P0015-ENDDA = LS_PSKEY-ENDDA = DATUM.
        P0015-UNAME = UNAME.
        P0015-INFTY = LS_PSKEY-INFTY = '0015'.
       "before I am submiting another program I am passing this strcuture
        export P0015 = P0015 PSKEY = LS_PSKEY to memory id 'ZXPADU02_P0015'.
        submit YPLPY_PRO_RE_ZXPADU02_2002
               and return.
    - Now the below program creates my IT0015 and the same time changes to IT2002 are written (DB commit is triggered with SUBMIT)
    REPORT  yplpy_pro_re_zxpadu02_2002.
    data: p0015 like p0015.

    ENDIF.
    "unlock the EE

  • Session Timeout and Dynamic Actions

    Did anybody ever use the Session Timeout feature in APEX successfully?
    I have set an idle session timeout and provided an url to redirect to once the session is expired: Home > Application Builder > Application nnn > Shared Components > Edit Security Attributes > Session Timeout
    It works so far during the page rendering and page processing phase. But I have major problems with dynamic actions and custom ajax requests.
    Dynamic actions will just hang and simply don't return. Even worse, when I execute the dynamic action once the session is expired, the session seems to be physically deleted and thus the next click on a tab will not redirect to the expiration page but go straight to the login page.
    Did anybody make it work or is the best way to implement a custom session timeout?
    Thanks,
    Dietmar.

    Hi All,
    Check out the Session Timeout plug-in available here:

  • How can a classic report be filtered using one select item and dynamic action?

    APEX 4.2.1
    DB 11g
    I have a page with 4 reports on it.  The top report is an interactive report and the following 3 are classic reports.  The users would like to be able to use a select list to filter the 3rd report by PO line number without refreshing the entire page.
    After verifying that the report is set to allow partial refreshes, I took the following steps
    1.  Created a PO Line select item (p_po_line_select) in the same report region
    2.  Added p_po_line_select to the report query
    3.  Created a dynamic action on p_po_line_select with 2 true actions
         1.  Set value (p_po_line_select)
         2.  Refresh report region.
    The Set Value dynamic step was not working; I would get an out of memory error at line 2, memory stack error, or the value did not get saved to session state depending on the settings I selected.  I was able to get it working with the following set:
    1.  Action = Set Value
    2.  Set type = PL/SQL Expression
    3.  PL/SQL Expression = :p_field_does_not_exist
    4.   Page items to submit = blank
    5.  Selection Type = Item(s)
    6.  Item(s) = p_field_does_not_exist
    p_field_does_not_exist does not exist as a page or application item which leads me to believe that this is a bug and I am just lucky that it worked.  I would rather know how to do this properly.  Can someone please provide a link to a working example of how this should be done or state which settings are wrong?
    I was able to reproduce the issue in the following app
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=4500:1000
    workspace = occam
    user  test/apex1

  • IT0009: payment method "cheque" and dynamic actions

    Hello,
    I need your help on this issue.
    I have looking for answers on the different posts but i didn't found any similar problems.
    For a customer, i have to settle, in case of departure (leaving) action , the creation in background of an infotype 0009 from infotype 0000 with payment method 'C' - Cheque and the BEGDA equal to the first day of the month. It is a payroll need.
    The dynamics action is easy to do but i have an error which makes appears the infotype. Actually, the information City is mandatory in SAP standard (?) in case of payment 'C' - Cheque.
    I did the test and when i create infotype 0009, the name of the person, from infotype 0002 i guess, is put in the field but not the adress, city and postal code. If i select payment cheque, an errror alerts me that the city is mandatory for this payment method. If i put something, no problem, but i would like to automate it and retrieve data from IT0006. That is strange is when i delete the payee information (last and first name field) and validate the screen, no more error, even if i select payment cheque. And if i save and go back on the record, data from IT0006 (city, postal code and payee) have been automatically put in the infotype.
    I would like to reproduce the same thing by the dynamic action but i can't access these fields because they are not part of the P0009 table but the Q0009 structure and i don't access it through dynamic action
    Do you have some experiences to share on this topic ?
    Thanks in advance.

    hi
    To replace a check or to create a check instead of a bank transfer, the system must be able to access the
    correct payment method. The standard system contains predefined payment methods. However, you can
    also specify your own values.
    The standard system contains the following methods of payment:
    - C (Check)
    - D (Transfer)
    - M (Check with manual assignment of check number)

  • Quick Picks and Dynamic Actions not working

    I have a page item that includes Quick Pick values. This item also includes a dynamic action to update another item when triggered by a change event. The problem is, quick picks do not trigger change events. Has anyone else seen this and come up with a solution? Thanks.

    Hi,
    the JavaScript code generated for the Quick Picks is using $s which triggers the change event for the target page item.
    I just tried that out and it worked fine for me.
    1) I have defined a text field with a few quick pick values.
    2) Declared a dynamic action which fires on "Change". No condition set
    3) The action is defined as "Alert"
    The alert always shows when I pick a value with a quick pick.
    Can you put an example on apex.oracle.com so that I can have a look.

  • Buttons and Dynamic Actions

    When triggering a dynamic action from a button, I'd like to prevent the page from submitting. Following the advice from earlier threads, I have set the button to redirect to a URL. But since the dynamic action will be performing all the required actions, I'd like the URL invoked by the button to do nothing.
    What is the best practice for allowing the button to do no more than initiate the DA?
    Thank you
    CS
    Edit: Alternatively; instead of triggering the DA using an "onclick" event on the button, can I invoke the DA by naming it as the target URL. That would be the preferred solution I think.

  • Dynamic Action on DOM object not working

    Thru a dynamic action I am executing PL/SQL Code that creates additional item using APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX (see code on bottom). Thru another Dynamic action, I am trying to execute additional Java. I have it set to fire like this:
    Event: Click
    Type: DOM Object
    DOM Object: document.forms[0].f11 (this matches the APEX_ITEM.checkbox fxx value)
    Just trying a simple alert("hi"). doesn't work. Am I missing something?
    DECLARE
    l_hold_table_name varchar2(1000) := :P1223_HOLD_TABLE_NAME;

    END LOOP;
    l_hold_html := l_hold_html || '</TABLE><DIV>';
    :P1223_HOLD_INNERHTML := l_hold_html;
    END;

    Hi,
    first your code in example does not compile.
    CURSOR get_columns IS
    select b.column_heading, b.column_name
    from dual
    There is a ; missing and even with that this query is not OK.
    If you have a problem with DOM selector, then try jquery selector:
    Event:Click
    Selection Type: jQuery Selector
    jQuery Selector: input:checkbox[name*='f11']
    For testing I created a test page with one dynamic PLSQL region and following source:
    DECLARE
      l_hold_table_name varchar2(1000) := 'MYTABLE';
      l_hold_html varchar2(32000) := '';
      l_hold_session_state varchar2(32000) := '';
      CURSOR get_columns IS
      select
        'My Checkbox' column_heading, 'a' column_name
      from dual ;
    BEGIN
      l_hold_html := '<TABLE border="2"><THEAD><TR><TH>'
                              || l_hold_table_name
                              || '</TH></TR></THEAD>';
      FOR x in get_columns LOOP
        l_hold_html := l_hold_html ||
                                '<TR><TD>' ||
                                APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX(20,x.column_name,null) ||
                                x.column_heading ||
                                '</TD></TR>';
      END LOOP;
      l_hold_html := l_hold_html || '</TABLE>';
      htp.p( l_hold_html );
    END;And Dynamic Action with properties as described above (only that in my case name of the checkbox is f20)

  • Populating Text Field using Dynamic Actions is not working

    I've a Select List (P14_ACCOUNT) and Text Field (P14_BILLING_ADDRESS_1) on a form. On selecting a value on the Select List, I've to populate the Text Fields by fetching its values from the database by using the Select List value as the primary key. To do this, I created a Dynamic Actions (Advanced) on the Select List, with event onchange and Set Value as SQL. However this is not working.
    Below are the sqls of Select List and Dynamic Action respectively:
    select ACCOUNT_NO || ' - ' || COMPANY_NAME display_value, ACCOUNT_ID return_value
    from ACCOUNT
    order by 1
    select a.address1 from account a where a.account_id = :P14_ACCOUNTNow when I substitute the Dynamic Action sql with any of the below sqls, the value shows up:
    select address1 from account where account_id = 41
    select address1 from account where rownum=1
    select user from dualI thought of seeing the value of :P14_ACCOUNT in session or debug, but session does not show any value and on clicking debug it throws a popup message "Debugging is not enabled for this application."
    I've been trying since few hours but with no luck. How can I debug further?
    Thanks for the help.

    Take alook at your application on apex.oracle.com
    The session state for items, when SQL is used, is set using the Page Items to Submit parameter as has been set in your application.

    Hi Senthil
    Why at all U want a subroutine to create a record in IT0015 through Dynamic action.There are some standard codes available to update infotypes.
    Let me give U an example
    14     9CON     BETRG     4     2     I     INS,0015 This will create a record in IT0015 when IT0014 is updated with Wagetype 9CON
    14     9CON     BETRG     4     3     W     P0015-LGART='5400' Set wagetype for IT0015(Here U can use a subroutine call to set the wagetype)
    14     9CON     BETRG     4     4     W     P0015-BETRG=P0014-BETRG set amount for IT0015(Here U can use a subroutine call to get the amount)
    14     9CON     BETRG     4     5     W     P0015-BEGDA=P0014-ENDDA set the dates(Here U can use a subroutine call to set the dates)
    Hope this will help U.

  • HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION called inside Dynamic action

    I am writing a subroutine called by dynamic action.
    Where using FM 'HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION' i have to delimit or delete the records of infotype 0167.
    Although, HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION, is executing with return is 0. but there is no change in the infotype reocrd.
    The same code written independent without called from Dynamic action, infotype record is been updated.
    Any help would be highly appriciated.

    Re: Why does the NOCOMMIT parameter not work in HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION?
    I’d recommend you to write BDC program . This FM is behaving in a weird way!!!
    <b>I used it only for 'INS' ...</b>
    Hope this’ll give you idea!!
    <b>P.S award the points.</b>
    Good luck

  • Using HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION in external subroutine for Dynamic Actions

    Hi,
    I am calling an external subroutine in the Dynamic Actions of an Infotype. In this external subroutine, I am using HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION to modify OTHER records of the same Infotype number.
    However, when I tried to trigger the Dynamic Actions in PA30, the other infotypes get modified as intended. But when I refreshed the PA30 screen, the changes were reversed back as if the HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION were not carried out at all. I have COMMIT WORK after the HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION, refreshed the buffer. But it doesn't seem to work.
    My question is: Can i use HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION in an external subroutine which is called during dynamic actions? As I have some complicated logic, I do not want to embed the coding in the Dynamic Actions. Is there a way for HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION to work in the external subroutine with the changes being committed to the database?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    I remember the same problem being faced by some of the forum members.
    Suresh Datti had replied that "Call the subroutine in a nother program using a SUBMIT statement. This will create two sessions and will update the DB". This was working fine for the users.
    Hope you can try this.
    Just call a program using SUBMIT statement and code your form routine inside that.
    Hope this helps you.

  • How to clear grey loading screen and animated gif (Dynamic Action with "Show Processing" on submit)

    APEX V4.2.3
    DB 11.2
    I have a classic report on page 1.  I have a region button called "Export" (defined by a submit dynamic action with "show processing=Yes") that submits the page and then via a branch directs me to page 2 which has a slightly different version of the report on page 1 (i.e. no breaks) which I want to capture as a CSV export.  Therefore I've set the report template on page 2 to " Export:CSV".
    Now when I click on the page 1 export button the grey screen and loading gif appears indicating that the report is executing and then as expected, page 2 doesn't appear but instead the standard open/save window's dialog box appears asking to open or save the generated CSV file.  All good..but the grey loading screen remains.  How do I clear this loading screen and get back to the context of page 1 ?
    thanks in advance

    Hi PPlatt,
    We would love to help but you left out one crucial part of the puzzle: namely how does your CSV report get exported. With the way it is setup (a redirect to another page), I'm going to assume you do that because you have some PL/SQL on that page that prints the CSV.
    Now there are two questions that are crucial here:
    - How do we stop the icon from bugging us on the screen
    - How do we communicate with the browser that it should no longer display the loading icon
    The first question is rather easy, two simply lines of codes can do that:
    $('#apex_wait_popup').hide();
    $('#apex_wait_overlay').hide();
    But when do we use this code? Quite simple when the document is downloaded. When is it downloaded? At the end of the PL/SQL code that prints the document to the browser.
    What you could do is at the end of that code give an application item a certain value. For example :AI_PRINTED := 'Y';
    Then all you need to do is let the browser ask for the value. You could do this by using JavaScript to continuously fire AJAX to the server using a JS timing event:
    http://www.w3schools.com/js/js_timing.asp
    Better would be a Server send event, but since you left out another crucial piece of information: your browser, I will not go deeper into this.
    Start this timing event when someone asks for the document, and end it as soon as the process returns that :AI_PRINTED equals 'Y'.
    Despite the lack of information, I hope I have given, or at least inspired you to get to the solution.

    Joni
