from which table/infotype can i get these?

Hi.
I'm experienced in doing ABAP programming for all the rest of the modules, but with ABAP HR, I am new and doing one for the first time. I need your help regarding how to find tables/infotypes and relationships to each other.
Specific work example/scenario:
From selection criteria of requisition information, I am supposed to have an output report with application and candidacy information.
1.) How can I relate Infotype 5125 with info type 5132 and 5102?
I am more comfortable with select statements hence I prefer explanation using the transparent tables HRP5125, HRP5132, etc.
2.) How can I make use of the table HRP1001 to establish relationships between different tables/infotypes of HR?
Also, kindly send any links and documents that can give an at-a-glance summary of what I can use when doing ABAP for HR for the first time.

Can we create prompts in Derived Table sql query

Hi,
I am trying to define derived table sql query as below. Though the syntax parsing is going through but when I am generating the report it is throwing and invalid prompt definition error.
" select * from table_a where call_direction = @Prompt('Enter Call Direction','A','"derivedtable_a".SHORT_STRING',mono,free,not_persistent,) and
where call_type = @Prompt('Enter Call Direction','A','"derivedtable_b".SHORT_STRING',mono,free,not_persistent,) "
Can somebody please share your thoughts if this can be achieved in universe or not ?
Appreciate immediate responses as it is a show stopper for my deliverable.

Hi Shireen
We can use prompt in the derived table. There is issue with the SQL that you have used while creating the Derived Table.
Instead of using the "derivedtable_a".SHORT_STRING' field use the object from the class on which you are creating the derived table.
For example: If you are creating a derived table in the sample universe efashion on Agg_yr_qt_rn_st_ln_ca_sr table then use the following query:
SELECT *
FROM Agg_yr_qt_rn_st_ln_ca_sr
WHERE Agg_yr_qt_rn_st_ln_ca_sr.Yr = @Prompt ('Enter Value','C','Time Period\Year',mono,constrained)

go to sqvi and select "Table Join"in data source and enter title select radio button for "basis mode" and enter u reach a new screen in that new screen press "insert table" and give ur table name and again press "insert table" and give another table in thsi way we can joint table in ABAP query.

CANT execute query with parameter on user defined tables using query genera

Dear All,
I have problem when executing query with parameter on user defined tables using query generator.
It seems SBO cannot accept parameter to query user defined tables.
I've tried these:
SELECT T0.U_Status FROM [@ST_PR_H] T0 WHERE T0.U_Status = [%0] --- this FAIL
I try to pass the value directly without using parameter and It works
SELECT T0.U_Status FROM [@ST_PR_H] T0 WHERE T0.U_Status = 2 --- this SUCCESS
This one works
SELECT * FROM RDOC T0 WHERE T0.width =[%0] --- this SUCCESS
and this one works too
SELECT * FROM RDOC T0 WHERE T0.width = 595 --- this SUCCESS
Is there anyone can help me ....???

I generated this code using query wizard ....
SELECT T0.[U_Status] AS 'Document Status' FROM [dbo].[@ST_PR_H] T0 WHERE T0.[U_Status] = (N'2' )
and replaced the (N'2' ) with [%0]
SELECT T0.[U_Status] AS 'Document Status' FROM [dbo].[@ST_PR_H] T0 WHERE T0.[U_Status] = [%0]
and It worked ......

How to define table specific QUERY in parameter file for Export Utility

Hi All
I am trying to create A SINGLE parameter file for export utility. I have 2 tables and want to use a different QUERY condition for each of these tables. However i do not want to create 2 seperate parameter files for this and run/script exp twice.
Is there a way to do it ?
NOTE: I am using normal export utility for Version 9 and NOT oracle data pump.
Following is an example of what i want to achive in parameter file:
Tables = (TabA,TabB)
# for table - TabA
QUERY = "where id =25"
#for table - TabB
QUERY = " where court_id=54 and id >1"
Please advice on syntax of parameter file so that exp knows that it has to process 1st condition for only TabA and second condition for TabB.
Any samples/syntax examples are greately appreciated.

No there is no such alternative. Query condition is applicable to all the tables listed in TABLES parameter.

Refresh table-form query on table only

Hello,
I have a group being generated as a table-form layout. What I would like is for the table page to be refreshed always on entry. I can't set the group requery condition to always, or "when entering the page" as then the view object is executed going navigating from the table page to the form page. This seems a very simple requirement to me but Im struggling to come up with an elegant solution.
Basically what i need is the refreshCondition on the invokeAction binding executable to be "Always and layout=table".
Any help would be greatly appreciated !

How do you do this, if your current page is a .jsff and not a .jspx? When I look at the refreshCondition, a .jsff does not have access to the facesContext.

You cant directly use in sql instead you can write an anonymous block and frame the query as per the input table name and then use execute immediate to execute the query.
Something like this

the steps to follow to create the custom infotype are
Steps to create a HR Infotype:
1) Go to Transaction PM01.
2) Enter the custom Infotype number which you want to create
(Should be a 4 digit number, start with 9).
3) Select the 'Employee Infotype' radio button.
4) Select the 'PS Structure Infotype'.
5) Click on Create... A separate table maintenance window appears...
6) Create a PS structure with all the fields you want on the Infotype
7) Save and Activate the PS structure
8) Go back to the initial screen of PM01.
9) Click on 'All' push button. It takes a few moments.
10) Click on 'Technical Characteristics'. Infotype list screen appears
11) Click on 'Change'(pencil) button
12) Select your Infotype and click on 'Detail' (magnifying glass) button
13) Give 'T591A' as subtype table
14) Give 'T591S' as subtype txt tab
15) Give your subtype field as subtype field
16) Save and come back to PM01 initial screen
17) Click on 'Infotype Characteristics' ... Infotype list screen appears
18) Click on 'Change' (pencil) button
19) Click on 'New Entries'
20) Enter your Infotype number and short text
21) Here we have to set different Infotype Characteristics as per the requirement.
(Better open another session with some standard Infotype's
infotype characteristics screen and use as the reference to fill yours)
22) Save your entries.
23) Now the Infotype is created and ready to use.
24) If you want to change the layout of the Infotype as per your requirement...
25) In the PM01 initial screen...Select 'Screen' radio button and give 2000
as the screen name, then click on edit.
26) In the next screen.. Select 'Layout Editor' and click 'Change'.
27) Screen default layout appears...here you can design/modify
the screen..change the attributes of the fields..etc.
28) Save and activate. (Don't forget to 'Activate at every level)

When i run this query it popups a window & asking EnqNo,when i select any enquiry no it's saying an error like----- Incorrect syntax near '@ENQHEAD'. iam unable to solve the above problem can anybody suggest me sme ideas....

I've just tried to reproduce the issue and found the following query worked correctly for me:
SELECT T0.[Name] FROM [dbo].[@D01] T0 WHERE T0.[U_SO] = '[%0]''
The only difference I can see is the square brackets [] in my query?

I think the SQL statement should be

Lookup-table and query-database do not use global transaction

Hi,
following problem:
DbAdapter inserts data into DB (i.e. an invoice).
Process takes part in global transaction.
After the insert there is a transformation which uses query-database and / or lookup-table.
It seems these XPath / XSLT functions are NOT taking part in the transaction and so we can not access information from the current db transaction.
I know workarounds like using DbAdapter for every query needed, etc. but this will cost a lot of time to change.
Is there any way to share transaction in both DbAdapter insert AND lookup-table and query-database?

One dba contacted me and made this statement:
Import & export utilities are not independent from characterset. All
user data in text related datatypes is exported using the character set
of the source database. If the character sets of the source and target
databases do not match a single conversion is performed.So far, that does not appear to be correct.
nls_characterset = AL32UTF8
nls_nchar_characterset = UTF8
Running on Windows.
EXP produces a backup in WE8MSWIN1252.
I found that if I change the setting of the NLS_LANG registry setting for my oracle home, the exp utility exports to that character set.
I changed the nls_lang
from AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252
to AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8
Unfortunately , the export isn't working right, although it did change character sets.
I get a warning on a possible character set conversion issue from AL32UTF8 to UTF8.
Plus, I get an EXP_00056 Oracle error 932 encountered
ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected BLOB, CLOB, get CHAR.
EXP-00000: export terminated unsuccessfully.
The schema I'm exporting with has exactly one procedure in it. Nothing else.
I guess getting a new error message is progress. :)
Still can't store multi-lingual characters in data tables.

Now I need to insert some records, but I can't find any function module for that.
With RH_INSERT_INFTY I might be able to insert the HRPnnnn record, but not the HRTnnnn records.
