HRFORM - difference between Flat Staructure & Nested Structure

Hi,
I wish to know the dfifference between deciding nested structure or flat structure in tcode HRFORMS. I have to work on form SAP_PAYSLIP_CA which is a nested structure. I have read that working on flat structure is far easier than working on nested structure. I wish to know what fields i have to add to convert this to flat structure. If i have to work on this nested structure what code i have to add in my interface (e.g. loop at.... for nested structure) for working on employee data. Also i wish to know how can i pull non key field data in my program.
I nee dthe inputs very urgently.
Thanks in advance.

  • Map flat to nested structure by creating a collection

    Hi All,
I've got a problem by mapping a flat to a nested structure.
The source structure looks like that:
    <b>ISIN</b> = DE00000123450
    <b>WKN</b>  = 012345
The target structure is build as a collection of identifers:
    <i><b>IDENTIFIER (1..unbounded)</b></i>
    <b>ID</b>    = 01
    <b>TYPE</b>  = Isin
    <b>VALUE</b> = DE00000123450
    <b>ID</b>    = 02
    <b>TYPE</b>  = Wkn
    <b>VALUE</b> = 012345
Now, it's impossible for me to append a new record to this identifier collection by using the plain mapping functionality without java functions.
Did anybody face and solve this problem?

    Hi Bhavesh, Marcus,
I'd like to refine the above problem somewhat ..
The main problem here is not to map an element name of a source document to an element value of a destination document, but to construct a collection from a list of source element values (Isin->Value, Wkn->Value):
    ("." are just for prettyprinting)
    Source_1:
    <PRICES>
    ....<Price>
    ........<Isin>DE0123456</Isin>
    ........<Wkn>123456</Wkn>
    ........<Currency>USD</Currency>
    ........<Amount>123.45</Amount>
    ....</Price>
    ....<Price>
    ........<Isin>DE0123457</Isin>
    ........<Wkn>123457</Wkn>
    ........<Currency>EUR</Currency>
    ........<Amount>987.65</Amount>
    ....</Price>
    </PRICES>
    Destination_1:
    <PRICES>
    ....<Price>
    ........<IDENTIFIERS>
    ............<Identifier>
    ................<Key>ISIN</Key>
    ................<Value>DE0123456</Value>
    ............</Identifier>
    ............<Identifier>
    ................<Key>WKN</Key>
    ................<Value>123456</Value>
    ............</Identifier>
    ........</IDENTIFIERS>
    ........<Currency>USD</Currency>
    ........<Amount>123.45</Amount>
    ....</Price>
    ....<Price>
    ........<IDENTIFIERS>
    ............<Identifier>
    ................<Key>ISIN</Key>
    ................<Value>DE0123457</Value>
    ............</Identifier>
    ............<Identifier>
    ................<Key>WKN</Key>
    ................<Value>123457</Value>
    ............</Identifier>
    ........</IDENTIFIERS>
    ........<Currency>EUR</Currency>
    ........<Amount>987.65</Amount>
    ....</Price>
    </PRICES>
So the main question for me seems to be: How to do the transpose of Isin and Wkn to the Value elements:
    Source_2:
    <Price>
    ....<Isin>DE0123456</Isin>
    ....<Wkn>123456</Wkn>
    ....<Currency>USD</Currency>
    ....<Amount>123.45</Amount>
    </Price>
    Destination_2:
    <Price>
    ....<IDENTIFIERS>
    ........<Value>DE0123457</Value>
    ........<Value>123457</Value>
    ....</IDENTIFIERS>
    ....<Currency>EUR</Currency>
    ....<Amount>987.65</Amount>
    </Price>
Since the length of the source list has very few items (comparable to columns in a database table), they could easily be set as constant Key's in the destination. The problem is: how to map element values of different source elements  (Isin, Wkn) into a collection of destination elements (comparable to rows in a database table). The mapping from Destination_2 to Destination_1 could be done by a SplitByValue.
I couldn't find a mapping in the GUI which allows to do the latter mapping. More precisely to sort-of reference the destination elements by an index or to simply add more elements to the collection without overwriting the first one.
A Java Mapping doesn't seem to be appropriate, since it seems, that only 1 result value can be returned (or is it possible to modify the destination DOM/XML with a Java Mapping ? Or to return a list of values ?).
An XSLT Mapping seems to be possible, but unfortunately it imposes bigger efforts when additionally conversions or value-mappings are needed.
In the case that XSLT mapping is the only solution to the problem: is it possible, to do a XSLT mapping pipelined with a GUI mapping, such that the structural mapping can be done by XSLT and the conversions / value-mappings can be done via the GUI ?
    Best regards,
    Marc

  • Difference between Table and Structure

    Dear SD Gurus,
Can anybody tell me what is the difference between a Table and Structure
    Pls Reply.

Tables are Database, which stay in system for long duration , as good as permanent, untill & unless the data is archived, which is not very frequent. Data at transaction level are captured from multiple tables, so as to meet the requirement. We can view the data in the table through T.code SE11 & SE16. there are certain tables in which data can be maintained as well as displayed. To maintain data, we use T.Code: SM30 or SM31.
Structures are temporary table & hold the data for that particular instance or transaction.

  • Difference between Extraction Structure and Datasource

    Hi Gurus,
I have a very basic question here. Can anybody explain to me in detail the difference between an extraction structure and Datasource.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi:
I am pasting a summarized def. from sap notes.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bw30b/helpdata/en/ad/6b023b6069d22ee10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
    Data Source:
Data that logically belongs together is stored in the source system in the form of DataSources. A DataSource contains a number of fields in a flat structure used to transfer data into BW (Extract Structure).
    Extract Structure:
In the extract structure, data from a DataSource is staged in the source system. The extract structure contains the amount of fields that are offered by an extractor in the source system for the data loading process.
You can edit and enhance DataSource extract structures in the source system. To do this, in the BW Administrator Workbench choose Goto à Modeling à Source Systems à Your Source System à Context Menu (right mouse click) à Customizing Extractors à Subsequent Processing of DataSources.
While, you are on the topic, you have one more structure.
    Transfer Structure:
The transfer structure is the structure in which the data is transported from the source system into the SAP Business Information Warehouse.
It provides a selection of the extract structure fields for the source system.
It may be a good idea to look into a sample Business Content extractor to get a better understanding of how they are related.

  • What's the difference between EQ off and flat?

What is the difference between EQ off and flat? Are all the frequency's at the same place as if it were flat?

OFF uses iTunes EQ settings, if any.
FLAT overrides iTunes EQ settings, if any
    Close.
In Flat, if a song has a preset EQ set in iTunes, it
will use that preset, otherwise it does not use any
    EQ.
In Off, the EQ is not used at all.
Page 28 of the very fine manual for 2n Gen nano:
    Using the Equalizer
You can use equalizer presets to change the sound on iPod nano to suit a particular music genre or style. For example, to make rock music sound better, set the equalizer to Rock. To use the equalizer to change the sound on iPod nano:
Choose Settings > EQ and choose an equalizer preset.
If you assigned an equalizer preset to a song in iTunes and the iPod nano equalizer is set to Off, the song plays using the iTunes setting. See iTunes Help for more information.
Hmmmm...? There's nano's EQ and iTunes' EQ...

what is difference between data base structure and stucure  declared in program  level . can  explain cleary if knows

    Hi,
Data base structure is global decalaration you can reffer this structure in any of your developments, when ever you cahange this structure the changes automatically will get updated in all the programs.
coming to structures in program it is local to your program only, if you want to change the structure again you have to open the program and do the necessary changes.

  • How to find the structural difference between two tables

    Hi all,

you could try something similar to this, for each table pair that you want to compare:
SELECT 'TABLE_A has these columns that are not in TABLE_B', DIFF.*
      FROM (
            SELECT  COLUMN_NAME, DATA_TYPE, DATA_LENGTH
              FROM all_tab_columns
             WHERE table_name = 'TABLE_A'
             MINUS
            SELECT COLUMN_NAME, DATA_TYPE, DATA_LENGTH
              FROM all_tab_columns
             WHERE table_name = 'TABLE_B'
          ) DIFF
    UNION
SELECT 'TABLE_B has these columns that are not in TABLE_A', DIFF.*
      FROM (
            SELECT COLUMN_NAME, DATA_TYPE, DATA_LENGTH
              FROM all_tab_columns
             WHERE table_name = 'TABLE_B'
             MINUS
            SELECT COLUMN_NAME, DATA_TYPE, DATA_LENGTH
              FROM all_tab_columns
             WHERE table_name = 'TABLE_A'
) DIFF;that's assuming, column_name, data_type and data_length are all you want to compare on.

However, he says that he cannot understand these two differences.
    Please teach me.
    Thanks.

From the European Payments Council website:
    Remittance information: structure the unstructured
The SEPA Credit Transfer Scheme permits the end-to-end carrying of remittance data on a structured or unstructured basis appropriate to the nature of the payment (the remittance information usually contains details of the contract underlying the transaction such as an invoice number, for example). The length of the remittance information in the SCT Scheme is fixed at a standard length of 140 characters and banks are obliged to pass on the full remittance information.
The EPC supports a proposal developed by the European Association of Corporate Treasurers (EACT), which allows companies to agree on a structure for the remittance information. The EACT suggestion on how to structure the "unstructured" remittance fields allows companies exchanging a credit transfer to agree, among other, on information to be transmitted in a specific manner. Banks will carry remittance information structured in such an agreed way unaltered throughout the process chain.

  • Difference between file structure; iTunes, XP and Vista

I've noticed if I use iTunes to keep my music file organized that there's a difference between the way it organizes the file structure on XP vs Vista. In Vista it puts a Music folder in the iTunes Media folder whereas on XP it puts all the music directly into the iTunes Media folder.
The reason this is a concern for me is that I'm using an online sync service to sync my music folders between my laptop and my desktop, but with different paths on two different OSes (XP and Vista) this is causing issues.
Does anyone know if Apple is going to keep things consistent or if there's a reason for the differences? In the meantime I'll have to un-sync the folders and find a workaround.

  • Difference between the different structures while dealing with User-Exits

While dealing with User-Exits, we come across the different structures/Tables like XVBAP,YVBAP,TVBAP,IVBAP,*VBAP....
What is the difference between them ?

Usually X<tablename> and Y<tablename> are used in change document management to determine records updated (Y is old values and X new ones).  (Look at transaction SCDO)
T<tablename is an internal table read from database and I<tablename> is an import table parameter of the same structure. <tablename> is an equivalent of <tablename> declared with statement TABLES and contains usually the "old" value.

  • Query: how to use structure and selection and what's the difference between

Query: how to use structure and selection and what's the difference between these two?
Would be appreciated if some experts here give examples to demenstrate on how to use structure and selection in query and what's the difference between these two?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Kevin,
    1. Well by default all the KF that you include in your query go into a Key Figure Structure. You can additionally have another structure for defining how your chars are laid out. A common example is a Calmonth structure where you have selections for 12 months, quarers and YTD values. This would be a char structure with different selections (for each month, qtr etc)
    2. Yes, a selection with a KF is the same as restricting a KF. You can use am RKF is you have one on the left hand side, or if you need to do this locally in the query, right click the structure and choose New Selection, then proceed to choose your KF and reqd char values.
    Hope this helps...

    Dear All,
Can anyone explain to me the difference between AUTSW-DFCON and AUTSW-ORGPD in tbale T77S0?
And what is the relationship between these two switches?
    Thanks!!

    HI Mr. potato,
working off dilek's informative post you may be considering ? context vs non-context?
this image explains how context problems arise in HCM.  http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/b3/bfb83b5b831f3be10000000a114084/content.htm
I would say generally, when an organization decides to use structural authorizations, they also need to take into account a "context solution".  This is most frequently used to "lockdown" how different parts of the HR organization has different authority access to different groups of employees (potentially overlapping).  As an HR manager i might have full read access on IT0002 for the entire company (root org), but IT0008 view access only for a sub-org unit.
in this case you need to use the DFCON switch.  the 'most restrictive setting for dfcon is value 2.  the most iberal setting is, 4.  Generally, you need to test all 4 to figure out what works for you.
    settings for dfcon:
