HT1148 iCloud not allowing correct email address
I am trying to get the icloud to set up. But when it ask for my password it shows my old account email address. This in return keeps me from logging in to do what the program wants. Any help?
What is the preferred address format in the system, domain and post office
levels?

My wife and I shared an Apple ID, I have closed out the iTunes on her iPhone and her iPad. While trying to set up a new iTunes account when I enter her email address it says we have to select a new email address. I have checked and her email is not associated with my iTunes account and really do not want to establish another email account. Any suggestions?

I would like to set up iCloud on my home PC using my Apple ID (email account). I would also like to set up my son and daughter to be able to access that iCloud instance from their iPhones and Macs - but it seems like I have to give them access to the email account that I use as my Apple ID.
Is there documentation that will show me how I need to configure the iCloud account that will grant them access, but not necessarily using my email account for this? I am not finding this kind of information in the online help files - although maybe I am looking in the wrong place.
I would like to set up my home Windows PC, two Macs, and 2 iPhones on the iCloud instance - with the probability of adding another iPhone and an iPad.
If I create a new apple email ID to create the iCloud account, will that require me to change my whole Apple ID as well?

I don't have as much an issue with the access to the Apple account so much as setting it up on my kid's iPhone (say...) also pulls my personal emails too. I want to give them access to the iCloud - just not my emails!
Should I do this by setting up an alias in iCloud and setting their access using *that* ID? -

First go here - https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and login under the manage tab. Check your information and be sure it is all correct.
An AppleID is nothing more than an email address, so if you see another email address in the store, then someone has logged in with a different AppleID than yours. Did you let someone else use your iPhone? -
I have the wrong email address in ICloud. How can I change to the correct email address?
I have the same problem. I changed my email address with itunes, & the icloud website knows it too. but the icloud on my iphone still has the old one & wont allow me to change it. I can change the password but the email address is grayed out so I can't change it. I have tried signing out via the store on my phone & back in but it made no difference. Help!! I keep getting error messages about the photo stream ..but I don't know what I can do to correct it. HELP!!!

Whenever I update my iPhone software, it asks me to sign in to iCloud with an old email address. My other devices all have the correct address. How can I get the correct address for my iPhone? The only Apple ID that works for logging in is my new one.
To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone (if you're using iOS 7), then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I updated to iOS 8 on iPhone 5s and now iMessage will not verify my email address to use to send/ receive messages. It has said "Verifyng" beside it in settings since yesterday, but has not sent a verification email. I have also tried Adding it as a new email address several times, but get the same outcome. I can still send/ receive texts from my phone number, just not from the email address.
In my iCloud settings under Contact Information for that email address and it shows "pending". When I select "Resend Verification Email" I get "Cannot Connect to iCloud".Hello, Dorian071.

I'm trying to restore my iCloud back up on my new iPhone 5s and keep getting "could not sign in your apple Id or password is incorrect. I noticed that the Id it's showing is not my complete email address. I've reset my password 5 times. It accepts my password when I install as a new phone. How can I resolve this so I can restore my back up?

since i updated my Apple ID with correct email address I can now only send imessages to email addresses and not iphone numbers - any idea how to fix this problem ?
You might want to try contacting Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click See All Products and Services>iTunes>iTunes Store>Passwords & Security Questions>Lost or Forgotten Apple ID password. They should be able to explain what's going on and help you reset the password for the old ID if necessary. The call should be free.

Have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I am having trouble with my Apple ID and AppStore
Here are the steps I have taken and the results:
Changed my Apple ID with new email address.
Changed my iCloud with above new email address.
NOW - Apple ID appears correct in AppStore Settings, iCloud and AppStore*
If I scroll to bottom of screen in *App Store/Featured, I can see that the Apple ID is my new email.
Upon “updating” Apple ID reflects OLD email.
Deleted accounts, re-added accounts.
Signed out and signed in with new UN/Email
Issue remains the same.To migrate your data to a new iCloud account go to Settings>iCloud and turn off all synced data (contacts, calendars, etc.), when prompted choose to keep the data on your phone. After everything is set to off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Next, create the new iCloud account on your phone and turn on syncing for contacts, calendars, etc again. If prompted, choose Merge. This will upload your data to the new iCloud account.
