I'm using 10.5.8 version of Safari, I get a message from WordPress to update Safari. Can anyone advise what version I need. Thanks

When i add text to PDFs and work on the file for awhile, my red added text starts to turn into red X's with a box around them. I have OCRs turned off, i have the latest update, and i have registered the product. What is happening to my text while i'm working on these files? Since yesterday all my usual .xls files will not open (Office for Mac 2011). CAN open .xlxs files. Default 'open with' is Microsoft Excel.app. No software updates done yesterday or the day before (or maybe a Silverlight or an Acrobat one by accident?). Have repaired disc permissions. HHD name is still same as it always was. What next? Thanks
PS I'm not a great techie so assume I don't know what you're talking about!You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this,boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type: ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.

After updating - safari is messed up, ANYONE who knows what to do? :(
After updating the newest Office update as well as safari (middle of November 2007) I lost all my emails in my inbox and every subfolder (entourage), my messenger icons disappeared and now I can't even open Safari properly, (which is the main problem) When trying to open Safari, I get the, "The program ended unexpectedly" and my options are to try again or send a report. I've send a report SO many times, but that doesn't help me, and I'm not sure Apple takes these reports into consideration......Doesn't seem like it anyway.
Are there ANYONE who knows whats going on, what to do, etc. And might I add, I am not a technical genius so I don't get all the postings people have made about extensions, hexi- whatever, applications and so on. I just know that nothing is like it used to be
As for my Entourage, that had something to do with the update and me not clicking on the right button. BUT when researching a bit, I found out that I could get my old emails back by finding them somewhere in some profile whatever-BUT there was nothing there! And my messenger icons, well, they just disappeared.
I am NOT a happy Mac user at the moment, I can't call support because I don't have that Apple Care Plan and my iBook is old...
SO in conclusion, does anyone know what to do? Safari is the most anoying malfunction. The other things I can live without
BUT if I hadn't installed Firefox a long time ago, I wouldn't be able to get online at ALL...The same thing happened to me with Safari. I tried (as per the other thread on this topic) dumping the items in the Input Managers, but no luck. I've sent several crash reports in when it's happened, but it's obviously very frustrating, and who knows when a fix will appear?

Since my ios8 update, my pictures have been delaying and hanging what can I do?
My pictures take a few seconds before they open when I tap on em and it hangs while I scroll through or try to look directly from the camera, what can I do? It's really annoying and scary

If you are having issues with your iPad opening picture files slowly and becoming unresponsive while photo browsing, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

This is known as the Zombie Check exception. It is generally caused by trying to commit a transaction twice or trying to roll back a committed transaction. It can also be caused by a connection closing before the transaction is complete. In you case I would
suspect the latter.

Cant update to.53 via desktop manager
everytime i plugin bb tour it says that i have to update, then it connects and searches for available updates and comes back saying there are no updates available. i have desktop manager 5.0 and just reinstalled it but problem remains. anyone have any idea? has anyone had this problem before?

Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.

That's an unusual message to be getting on a Windows system. (Typically it's a Mac itunes installation message.)
I'd like to have a closer look at that error message please, tamara.
Try another iTunes install. While the error message box is open, hold down the Alt key and hit the PrtSc key. Paste the screenshot into an image file (using a program like Paint), and save the file.
Start a reply here and click the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window. Click "Choose file", browse to the image file, select the file and click "Open". Now click "Insert file" to insert the screenshot into the reply.
