I download an update and on my iPhone but what happened is all was gone and I can't able to go through on it's original setting, i tried restoring it but i failed, my sim card not detected and it says actiation server is unavailable, what should I do?

My phone was not hacked but it undergone private open line processed, and I don't have any idea how they make that. I tried other SIM on my phone but it really doesn't work? Do you have any idea what will I do to this? Thank you so much...

99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, either get a sim card from the carrier your phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.

It's a pre-installed app and therefore cannot be deleted so you may have inadvertently moved it onto a screen or into a folder, check the utilities folder as this is a common one for it to disappear into. Check all screens and folders and do a search in Spotlight, it will tell you if the app it still on your iPhone but unfortunately not where it is. If you find it on one or your screens or in a folder, press the icon until it wiggles and then drag it back to where you want it. Alternatively you can reset your home screen in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

Same thing happened with my iPhone 4S - no one is any help. Thanks Apple for such a crappy update! I've called Apple, they say the SIM card needs replacing, I go to my service provider they tell me nothing wrong with the SIM card - provider tells me I now need a new phone. Sheesh! Go here: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750 and download iOS 4.2.1 for the iPhone 3G. Perform a restore, but hold down ALT when clicking restore. Restore from this file you just downloaded. You should not get 1015 as you are upgrading, but if you get a different error, report back.

There's no way to "restore" your phone, but, you can login to iCloud.com, using your computer, locate your phone, then erase it.

I have tried holding down the home and power button countless of times. It doesnt respond at all. Plug my phone to a charger and hold down the power button and my phone switched on. But it said Activation Required and said connect to Itunes. As e screen remains on the connect to Itunes screen, I disconnect the charger from my phone and my phone went dead instantly. My battery is full btw. Tried connecting to Itunes through my Macbook Pro but iTunes doesnt detect my device and the apple logo flashes for about a few seconds on my phone and then disappear and then came back on again. My Iphone has been connected to my laptop for about 30 mins and the apple logo has been coming on and off for 30 minutes now and Itunes has not detect my device yet.

Was your iPhone hacked/jailbroken to be unlocked?
If so, installing an iOS update on an iPhone that was hacked to be unlocked or restoring such an iPhone with iTunes re-locks the iPhone to the carrier the iPhone was sold as carrier locked with.

Do a hard reset with a computer. Enter DFU mode, connect to iTunes, and it will say that our device is in "recovery mode". Then click restore.
