HT1414 does this information also apply to the iPad

The iPad was backed up to iTunes in a Windows computer. The iOS was updated. Then in following directions from the iPad Store we tried to restore from backup. A password was asked to unlock the iPad . None was ever used and none was imposted in the backup either. The above instructions are visualized for iPhone and I see no possibility to restore from  back up.I was warned not to use the "restore" under Version but rather to click on the device in iTunes and R click on "restore from backup" No instructions were given about syncing with the computer. In fact it is not one I use regularly.
Thankyou for you prompt reply!
Andy

A) Quickly looking this over the bug is talking about image
parsing by an applet. Neither of which would typically run inside a
server.
B) The fix is to upgrade to 1.4.2_15 or higher. CFMX7 has
been certified with 1.4.2_16 which has many fixes over CFMX7's
built in JRE. It also has the daylight savings time fixes and the
fix to A. Why not just upgrade?
