  • I have an IPOD Touch 3rd Gen.  The volume while playing music will drop down and then right back up on some songs, all intemittenly. What causes this?

I have an iPod Touch 3rd Gen. There is a problem with the volume dropping down and then right back up, intermittenly on various songs. If you rewind past that spot, it will not do it again.  It is not always the same songs.  What can I do to correct this issue?  I have tried a hard reboot on the iPod and the problem is still there.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Can I update Ipod Touch 4th generation  to the New Itunes?

    Hi,
I am trying to put the new Itunes on my Ipod but the more I read, the more I think I may not be able to
based on it running IOS 6 and unable to run IOS 7.  Basically my main complaint with the version
of Itunes on my Ipod presently is the user interface, for as many of you know it has a bit of an issue
sorting artists albums chronologically without putting in the year of the recording in manually.  The new
version of Itunes seems to do this automatically based on what I am seeing on my laptop and Iphone
which are both running it.  But unfortunately my Ipod is stuck with the old Itunes app.  Or is it?  There
is obviously no update waiting for me in Itunes so please don't tell me to do that.  Any help would be appreciated.
    Tom

    Hi Ana,
Thanks for the help.  I probably should have been a bit more detailed in my post.  I would like
the Itunes app that is on my Iphone 5s now to be also available to me on my Ipod 4th generation.
I only included the info on the new Itunes on my laptop as it seems to be the same as my Iphone
in that it now (not previous to this new version) sorts albums chronologically automatically.
It also displays the year of the album in the listings which is also new and appreciated.  Now
if I could just get this on my Ipod....

  • I'm having problems transfering audiobooks to my iPod touch 5th Gen with the latest software upgrade.  It combines 2 books under the same title giving me multiple chapters within the single title.

When I transfer audiobooks to my touch, I sometimes get a new book transferred that shows up correctly in iTunes but when I open music on the iPod, I have a single book title with both volumes under it.  I end up with 2 Chapters 1, 2 Chapters 2, etc.  Anyone else have this problem?

Well, I decided to try working at it from the Windows side because I was getting absolutely nowhere using iTunes in OS X. Strangely enough it just worked like it's supposed to this time when I loaded up iTunes in Vista. (I tried before in Vista, with the same problem occurring).
No idea why it worked... I hadn't even authorized iTunes in Vista to play tracks registered to my iTMS account.
If anyone can offer any help from the Mac side, it would be much appreciated. I only have a few specific reasons for using Vista... would prefer if I could avoid restarting into it just to change a few things on my iPod.

  • I have a ipod touch 3rd gen that has been working fine until a week ago.  I usually charge it using a power adapter in the house or using a car power adaptor.  All of a sudden neither will charge my ipod.  It does charge is I connect to computer.

I have tried different cords.  Other Ipods charge fine.  I have rebooted the Ipod.  I don't know what else to do.

    Hi,
    Try resetting your iPod:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430.
If that doesn't work, try restoring it:  http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414.
If all else fails, you will have to place your iPod in Recovery Mode:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.
    Hope this helps!

  • Can I use my iPod Touch 4th gen with the dock that came with my Classic 2nd gen ? It' charges using a FireWire connection.

I have just purchased a 4th generation Touch and would like to use my old FireWire docking station to connect to my PC. I am confused as to the different electrical input/output specs and worry that the battery in my new iPod may be damaged if I do.  Any advice would be gratefully received.
    Thank you

    You are most welcome.
I think, that Apple designers has product safety, uppermost on their mind, sometime people complain that the newest charger, for iPad, doesn't work on the Classic, without knowing that there is a maximum current limit on the Classic.

  • Will there be any update so I can use my ipod shuffle 3rd generation with the new earpods?

Or I just have to throw my ipod away?! And expect to do the same with my other apple products in the future?!
If I bought this one is because it has features I like that new ones don't have, so they can't tell me to pick a new one!
THIS IS WHERE APPLE SATISFACTION POLICY SHOULD APPEAR.

If you purchased it within the last 14 days you can return it for a full refund and then purchase the 5G. Otherwise Apple will only give you a 10% recycling discount if you turn in an old iPod and purchase a new one.
Sounds like a cosmetic crack. That is not covered by the warranty. Neither is accidental damage. Al you can do is make an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store and ask.

  • My computer crashed and I lost EVERYTHING, and my Ipod won't connect with the new Itunes I got without deleting everything on my Ipod. HELP!

Please help me, this is really upsetting. I really would like my Itunes to work. The message that pops up is saying that it will only transpher purchased items and I downloaded a lot of CDs so if you can please help me it would be lovely.

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
If you've wiped your computer/bought a new one...
    You should be able to:
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

  • My ipod is not synching with the new itunes.  Why?

I don't know why they say this new itunes is so much easier.  I find that's not the case.  I never had a problem syncing my music before.  Now, it won't sync.  When I go to the sync page, it says remove all of my music, videos and movies and sync it.  I don't want to do that.  What can I do?

transfer the song from the old to the new computer's iTunes.
you can use e.g. home sharing to transfer the song.
