Place the iPod in Recovery mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes.

You may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/resync your content to it.
If you do it via a different computer that it's not normally synced to then (from here) :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. -
I try to connect to iTunes and it comes up with a box saying "iTunes could not connect to the iPad because it is locked with a passcode. you must enter your code on the iPad before it can be used with iTunes", but i cant enter the code on the iPad because it is saying "connect to iTunes". FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY. -
itunes could not command to the iphone because it is locked with a password. You must enter your password on the iphone before it can be used with itunes

I have completed the OS X Maverick upgrade, restart etc. but when attempting to update 8 other Apps to X Maverick I get this message:
WE COULD NOT COMPLETE THIS UPDATE
Failed to verify the preflight file. It is not signed by Apple.
Help!Similar threads solve this problem by either creating a new administrator identity, which allows one to update applications, or changing the keychain prefs to Best attempt. My issue was solved by adding a new admin user, and then updating the apps from the App store using the new identity. Under my orginal user identity the keychain app would crash when I attempted to open Prefs. After creating a new identity and updating the applications (iPhoto, etc) I found I was able to open the keychain Prefs logged into my orginal identity.

You've entered your passcode on your phone to unlock it ? If you can't remember your passcode then follow the instructions on this page : Forgot passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled.

Well that is the message i get. I can still use firefox(version3.6.8)You get that error if an extension is using an old and no longer supported method to install a plugin.

My iphone 3gs will no longer let me try passcodes and it only says "Iphone is disabled connect to itunes" well, when I connect it to my laptop, itunes says "could not connect to phone because it is locked with a passcode. you must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes" Please help!!! My Ipod Touch is disabled and when I connect to Itunes to recover it, it states that itiTunes could not connect to the iPod touch “iPod touch” because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPod touch before it can recover.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

You have to restore it using a computer with iTunes per the knowledge base article above.
With iOS 7, if you have Find My Phone turned on you can login to iCloud from a computer and send an erase signal to the iPhone to clear it...that will erase all content and settings. -

if so you should be able to restore it
connect to itunes under the devices tab click on the ipod now click summary on the top
on the page you should see and check for update's or update tab
below that there should be an restore tab just click on the restore tab
NOTE RESTOREING WILL DELETE EVERYTHING YOU ADDED TO THE IPOD AND IT WILL BE BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS
