HT1535 Moving music from iPad and iPod to iTunes on a new computer
My boyfriend doesn't have a computer anymore so he set his iPad up through his iTunes account. Can he log into iTunes from my computer to update it without losing his stuff. It asks us if we want to reset his iPad and the same with his iPod touch, but he doesn't want to lose all his music.

For non-iTunes music (such as CDs or third-party), follow through this:

Hope this helps.

How do I get my music from an old iPod to itunes on a new PC
I have an iPod full of music, both downloaded via iTunes and copied from CD. My old PC is no longer available. How do I get my music onto iTunes on my new PC?
Thanks- Transfer your iTunes' purchases to the new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- Try making a backup of the iPod by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Backup.
- Connect your new iPod and restore the iPod from that backup if you wish. -
have a new dell computer. I am trying to get my music off my ipod and on to the new computer.
iPods can only be synced with one iTunes library. If you previously synced it with a different computer, you cannot sync it with the new one.

How do I transfer music from iPad to iPod?
Directly you can't. If these are ituens puechases, yuo can download them from the itunes app under the purchased menu. Or, sync the iPod to itunes on a computer.

My laptop recently crashed and is unsalvageable with my itunes library on it. My ipod still has all of my music still on it.
Is there a way that I can put the songs on my ipod onto itunes on my new computer without loosing them or having to buy them all over again?Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your ipod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your iPod for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the ipod for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

My computer crashed and I downloaded Itunes on a new computer and I'm trying to download new music to my ipod and a message comes up thatsays 'my ipod is synced with another Itunes library' {obviously my dead computer} and I can either 'Erase and Sync or Transfer Itunes purchases'. Is there ANY way possible I don't have to erase my music and can download some new stuff? Please help. Thanks- so frustrated.
Yes. I have no personal experience with this, but it is possible to recover your music from an iPod. See this link: http://guides.macrumors.com/Recovering_Songs_from_an_iPod

1) Use a different computer which has an optical drive, then transfer the media files to the other computer.
2) Buy an external optical drive for your computer. -
