HT1688 Changing tone of mail in notification and sounds settings?

I changed my 2 mail accounts to have different tones in the notifications in settings and now I can't change one tone to a different one or even turn it off completely.  Sounds in settings doesn't work either.
Does anyone know or have the same problem?  I'd hate to have to delete one account, just to add it back on again and risk losing info.

  • IOS 6 notification and sound sync

I am having an issue where the banner notification and sound are not in sync. So the banner will flash on the top of the screen and then I will hear the notification tone. This can be very annoying when the phone is in my pocket - I will look t it when I hear the notification tone but will have missed the banner notification so often times don't know what the notification was for. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am running iOS 6 on my 4s. Thanks.

I've had exactly the same problem! Also the silent button on the side isnt working either. Calls seem to be ok, but emails sms facebook, none of those sounds work. Have you found a solution?
No I haven't. The difference is that my silent button is working and even sound when receving and email or an sms's. My issue is the sound of the notification of the applications. For example facebook, F1Live24 ..

  • I recently changed my e-mail hosting service, and all my mail in my iPhone just disappered, How can I get it back? How can I prevent from it happening again?

As soon as I changed de Pop settings in t, all my mail disappered in a matter of minutes, Why? How can I get it back? I did full backup a couple of weeks ago, can I recover it from there?

    Hey jartansmom,
Thanks for the question. You may need to configure the outgoing mail server for the account. The following resource will outline how to navigate to these settings, however instead of adding a server, you’ll then want to update the settings with your correct username and password:
iOS: Configuring additional outgoing mail servers
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4519
    1. Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    2. Tap the Mail account for which you would like to change the settings. If you configured your account using any of the built-in presets, IMAP, or Exchange, you may need to tap Account Info on the following screen.
    3. On the Account Info screen, locate the Outgoing Mail Server section and tap the existing SMTP entry. A list of SMTP servers will appear with the Primary Server and Other SMTP Servers.
If you need help with your mail settings, you can utilize this tool:

  • I am not getting my news , sports etc notifications and my settings are all turned on?

I Have all my notifications turned on and still not getting news, sports, Facebook , etc notifications to pop up

Is there any orange showing on the switch on the side of the phone? If so, it should be in the up position to enable sounds. As for the notifications that are not appearing, have you checked under Settings > Notifications, and verified that the apps there have a type of notification set up?

  • How Do I Change an Animated Gif's Iteration and Loop Settings? (Pshop/Image Ready 7.0)

Background to Issue (NOT a PPT or Windows issue even though It will seem like that at first but read on...): I have to make Animated GIFS to be inserted into Powerpoint. I work on a Mac but the PPT presentation will be shown on PCs (non-negotiable, since I can't ask hundreds of sales reps who will be using this to install an outdated version of PPT). I already learned that I need to insert the Gifs while working on a PC or else it won't work). Fair enough- I can put it together on a PC, again not the issue. BUT, when I do THAT, the gifs still wn't animate unless I am in PPT 2002. Fair enough (Microsif going backwards not a surprise) So it won't work in PPT 2003 which is what the users will all have. But I need to get the presentation to them asap! I got a bit further in researching and found out that the solution is that I need to set my "Loop Flag" and "Iteration Settings" appropriately. See this link (http://www.soniacoleman.com/Tutorials/PowerPoint/animated_gifs/gifs.htm)
BUT I am trying to find out if one can do this already somehow in Mac Photoshop 7.0 or Mac Image Ready 7.0, where I made the gif and would prefer to keep making my gifs. Maybe I need to upgrade Image Ready or Pshop to CS? SO THE FINAL QUESTION IS: Is there another way to manual do this without this PC Plug-in?
NOTE: Yes, I know how how to set the loop to "once" or "forever" in Image Ready when I make my Gifs but apparently I need to do this somewhere else...where the iteration setting lives too?

There is an ImageAnimator so you may not need to use byte array instead.

  • Change Portal E-Mail Text Notifications

    Hi,
We have configurated the notification mails  following the instructions:(http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/48/b37e32eb5c6200e10000000a421937/frameset.htm)
But this procedure is only for changing the text, and the message is a plain text. Ineed to add design, like a hyperlink, colors for example.
Where can I configure this? Is this possible?
    Thanks by your help!
    Best Regards

I think it only sends plain text emails. You could try including some HTML tags and see if this changes how the message is processed by the receiver...

  • Mail no notification and no iCloud sync

Mac Lion 10.7.2 and Ipad IOS 5.01. Both in Icloud with mail. Not all the mails do come in the Mail on the Ipad. And new mails on the Ipad don't give a notification. Can anybody tell me what I do wrong ?

You have been using MobileMe's email settings, which sometimes continue to work for a time after migration but then get turned off. iCloud's mail server settings are different. Strictly speaking Lion 10.7.2 is required for iCloud, and on that Mail is set up automatically.
Leopard cannot access most of iCloud's facilities, however you can set Mail up manually to access your email. The method is described here:

  • My iPhone no longer alerts me when I have texts, even though all my notifications and sounds are on. Can I fix this?

My phone no longer chimes when I have a new text message. Or, alternatively, it will chime when I unlock it, even if I received the message hours ago, but won't alert me when I actually receive the message for the first time. My software is updated, and all my notification sounds and alerts are on. Often it registers that there's a text message (there will be a red circle above the app), but the notification never pops up. If I do immediately get an alert, it doesn't complete the chime and my phone flashes but immediately shuts off. Is there some way that I can fix this?

    Sorry to know that..
After backing-up your data try a Factory Restore. also check whether the phone Firmware upto date ? You may check using the Nokia Suite .. If not you may update that or if already with the latest Firmware re-install the Firmware and try again ..

  • Notifications and sounds

Tri-tone notification keeps alerting me but I cannot find this alert in sounds or notifications on my phone.....so I don't know what is alerting me....is there a way to find out where this alert is coming from?

Then it may not be the iPhone OS that is doing the sound but possibly a third party app that is doing it?

  • Push notifications and iMessage won't work on iPod 4th gen refurbished after updating to last ear iOS

My iPod has been working well for a while other than the battery draining very quickly. But just today I updated to iOS 6.1.3 and all of a sudden iMessage won't deliver the messages and my push notifications aren't showing up! I don't know what is making this happen, but this along with the battery issue is driving me crazy!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Try turning off the following to conserve battery:
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Push>OFF
    Settings>Notifications>Mail>Gmail>Notification Center>OFF
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Fetch New Data>Off

  • Apple Mail: spelling and grammar settings (OSx 10.6.8)

    Hello;
Whenever I open mail, the spelling and grammar settings revert back to English. I often write emails in either French or English, and thus want to set it to "Automatic". However, it always reverts to English. How do I permanently set this preference to "Automatic"?
    Thanks for any help.

  • Mail suddenly closed and mailboxes gone

    Hi...and help!
I was just sending an email and when trying to cut and paste, Mail closed suddenly. I reopened, repeated my email including the cut and paste, and it closed again.
The second time, however, it gave me a message like, there are new settings or the original settings, which do you want? Thinking the original settings meant the blank slate that Mail came with and new settings were the ones I had set up, I selected new. Then when I tried to open Mail, it wanted me to set up accounts. It seems like there are no mailboxes. I had about 10 mailboxes when they all disappeared.
I looked a few posts here and saw that I should check my Library folder...lo, there is a Mail folder that has my mailboxes in it.
How do I get the info from those files into Mail?
    Many thanks.

    Hi aflipflopper.
What’s the capacity and space available on your startup disk? Take a look at the comments about disk space in the following article, in case they apply to you:
Problems from insufficient RAM and free hard disk space
Even if there is enough space available on the startup disk, for some reason that remains a mystery to me, Mail sometimes “thinks” it must discard the current ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist preferences file and create a new one. As a result, all your non-Mac account settings (but not the messages themselves), which are stored in that file, are lost.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what’s it all about?
After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, and making sure that there’s enough space available on the startup disk (a few GB, plus the space needed to make a backup copy of the Mail folder), quit Mail if it’s running, and make a backup copy of the ~/Library/Mail folder, e.g. by dragging it to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down, just in case something else goes wrong while trying to solve the problem. This is where all your mail is stored.
    You have three options now:
    1. Restore com.apple.mail.plist from a backup if you have one. Mail shouldn’t be running while you do this.
    2. Set up your non-Mac accounts in Mail again. If given the option to import existing mailboxes or something like that, don’t. Just enter the account information and Mail will automagically rediscover the data in ~/Library/Mail/ when done. You’ll also have to re-configure most of your settings in Mail > Preferences. For spam-related security reasons, the first thing you should do is go to Preferences > Viewing and disable Display remote images in HTML messages if it’s enabled.
    3. Mail may have renamed the old preferences file to com.apple.mail.plist.saved. If that’s the case, you may try moving the new com.apple.mail.plist out of ~/Library/Preferences/ (e.g. to the Desktop) and rename the old com.apple.mail.plist.saved back to com.apple.mail.plist. Again, be sure Mail isn’t running while doing this. Since Mail decided to discard it, I would expect this file to be corrupt (I don’t understand why would Mail discard it and create a new one otherwise), but apparently that often is not the case and the settings can indeed be restored by just renaming the file.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder.

  • Line out and Sound Effects revert to Internal Speakers when I reboot. Any suggestions?

I have an early 2008 Mac Pro that runs fine under Yosemite. The Sound preference panel worked under Mavericks, but now I must open the Sound panel and manually change the output for both Output and Sound Effects from Internal Speakers to Line Out after a reboot. This is irritating and is becoming more so.
I've zapped the PRAM with no success.
Would an AppleScript app on startup work? I can't seem to find any appropriate commands in AppleScript that affect these parameters.
    Any help appreciated.

The script doesn't seem to work on Yosemite. Trolling around in the library, it appears that "audio" is now "sound," which would explain the file not found.
    Or am I missing something?
    Suggestions?

  • Report on DNS and WINS settings

    Hi,
It doesn't look like there are built-in reports to show DNS and WINS settings for client machines in SCCM 2012? We are going to run a script to change all clients with static DNS and WINS settings and I need to have a report to show client machines with
and without the new settings. Can anyone help with this?
I have enabled 'DNS Server Search Order', 'WINS Primary Server' and 'WINS Secondary Server' in hardware inventory classes > Network Adapter Configuration (Win32_NetworAdapterConfiguration). I've done this in the Default client settings. There are other
client setting policies with a higher priority but I assume they are cumulative and so as this isn't set on the other client setting policies it should implement this?
    Thanks,
    Andrew
