My iPad appears slow to charge , I have a lot of Apple products and we share chargers, am I using the wrong charger.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

We are having issues with our iPad air being very slow to charge. We use the charger that came with it but it is very slow, even slower than our original iPad. Is this an issue others are experiencing?

Are you sure it's the 12W Ipad charger and not a 5W iPhone charger?

IPad air is slow to charge the battery

My new iPad air is slow to charge the Battery? I am comparing it to an ipad2

Try a different cable
Use the power adapter/charger that came with the device
Don't charge from a PC's USB ports as they likely do not supply enough current to adequately charge the iPad. Charging will be slow.
Don't use an iPhone's charger to charge the iPad. It's not recommended as it does not supply enough current and will charge *very* slowly.
Try to clean out the 30-pin/Lightning port on the device using a clean toothbrush (or similar) & blow it out. There may be dust/lint preventing proper electrical connection. The older 30-pin port is much more prone to dust & lint getting inside and it's internal conductors are very small. Clean the port out thoroughly and also the 30-pin connector on the cable.

IPad 2 has become very slow when charging

Since I upgraded to ios 7, my iPad 2 has become very slow when charging. And the battery drained very fast. I cannot put it on standby but need to power off completely when I am not using it. This is very troublesome.

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then restart the iPad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, then swipe the slider to power off.
Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Then try charging the battery.

Ipad slow to charge

Hi all
I've seen a few posts where peoples Ipads are slow to charge & its because they're using an Iphone charger which charges half as fast
Can someone clarify if that the lead is the wrong one or the actual bit that plugs in the wall.

The actual bit that plugs into the wall makes the difference. The iPhone charger is 5 watts, the iPad charger is either 10 or 12 watts, depending on generation.

IPad 2 not recognized in Itunes, will not charge when plugged in to iMac, extremely slow to charge on wall outlet

i've searched around but could not find a solution to what im trying to fix.
i hadn't used my iPad 2 for a couple of weeks but had left it on and in standby mode. when i plugged it into my iMac (which normally charges at a decent speed), absolutely nothing happened. i tried putting it in DFU mode and the "plug into iTunes" picture displayed, but still, absolutely nothing happened on iTunes. i can plug it into the wall outlet with the charger that it came with, but it is horrendously slow to charge (about an entire day to bring the battery level from 40% to 82%). there aren't any official authorized Apple stores around where i live (im stationed in Italy), so bringing it to a store is out of the question. is there something that can be done to fix this solution?

In terms of charging, have you tried a different charger and/or cable ? And you aren't currently using an iPhone or iPod charger with it - the iPad's charger is twice as powerful.
Have you tried a reset to see if it charges properly after it's restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

IPad so slow to charge

I was one of thousands of people without power recently - for me it was 5 days. A nearby mall let people use their electrical outlets to charge phones , computers and pads. My iPad has always been slow charging but it was never more frustrating than when I was sitting on a mall floor to do it. I never got the iPad fully charged, I would have had to be there all night (seriously). I found out through talking to others that the phone charges 3-4 times faster in Airplane Mode. Any suggestions for iPad greatly appreciated.

Best way to charge iPad mini

What is the best way to charge my iPad mini ? When I play Internet games at the same time using FaceTime my battery drain fast is it normal ?

The mini came with a 5W charger. If you are going to use the mini like you described, suggest you get a 12W charger like that for the iPad 3 & 4. The 12W charger should maintain your battery charge level.

Charging iPad One vs iPad 3rd gen via USB...

just got an iPad 3rd gen. As I've read here, apparently, the PC's USB port doesn't supply enough power to make the 3rd gen battery charging icon say "charging". Instead, it reads "not charging". However, it initially DOES say 'charging', before changing to 'not charging' a couple of minutes later.
Question: my iPad 1st gen ALWAYS charges via PC USB port. Why? Both AC chargers are 10 watts I believe, so why would the 1st gen charge while the third gen doesn't? Does the 3rd gen require more charging watts than the 1st gen unit does?

Charging Ipad 3 Questions ? :?

Hi i just got my 1st iPad 3 Yesturday. Is it better to charge your Ipad when it is witched off or when it is asleep, does it make a difference? An when charging it while it is switched off how will I know when it is fully charged I dont see any meter on d screen, do I hav to switch it on each time to monitor the charge level?

Charging ipad mini issue. Urgent help needed.

Please help me. Past 2 days, I notice my ipad took longer time to fully charge. Normally, it just take around 3-3.5 hours, but now it take 8 hours to complete. What is the problem, was it my ipad, or my charger adapter issue.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Cannot charge ipad 4 buy using the cable provided with purchase. Only way of charging is via electrical outlet. Can someone please advise

How long dose it take to charge ipad 3?

My ipad 3 take more than 8 houres for charging.....!!!
and i put the airplane mode of and i have download boost magic app and i dont use it while chargeing....!!and nothing change....!!!
