HT1937 i am planning to buy an unlocked 4s,my question is that will bsnl(india)/cellone sim works on my iphone???

help me guys its urgent!!!

You should only buy an unlocked phone directly from Apple. That is the only guarantee that it is legitimately unlocked, and is not a carrier-locked phone that was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it. A phone that was hacked to unlock it will give you unending grief, and, when you update it, will become locked again.
Then, as @chattphotos says, make sure the carrier supports all iPhone features.

  • I am planning on buying an unlocked iPhone 5 with a T-Mobile Nano Sim. I have a few questions.

I was planning on buying a 32GB unlocked iPhone 5 with the T-Mobile Nano Sim. I was going to activate the Sim with T-Mobile's prepaid $30 unltd text/data with 100 minutes plan. I've read some stories online where people were only able to use the Sim with T-Mobile's post-paid plans. Will the Sim that comes included work with prepaid and post-paid plans?
Also, assuming that it does work with prepaid, what steps would I need to go through to activate the iPhone?
Assuming that it doesn't, would cutting down a prepaid Micro Sim from T-Mobile to Nano Sim size work normally?
    Thank you in advance!

Yes. The T-Mobile nanoSIM which came with the  full price, unlocked iPhone 5 will work for a prepaid plan. However, neither Apple retail store employees nor the T-Mobile customer svc reps know this. It was quite an ordeal to activate. I had to order the prepaid activation kit online, wait for its arrival by snail mail, then use the activation code from the kit with the nanoSIM to activate the prepaid monthly plan $30/mon for 100 min+ unlim text + 5 GB 4G/LTE. I live in Pasadena, CA, and the 4G and LTE coverage here is extensive and reliable.
I tossed the SIM which came with the activation kit.
My local T-Mobile retail store wouldn't sell me a prepaid activation kit when I told them that I wanted the web-only $30/mon plan. The customer svc reps couldn't or wouldn't give me an activation code to use either.

  • I live in the UK but visit the US regularly. The price of a new MacBook Pro is much less in the US, and is where I plan to buy one. However, I have read that a US machine will not play UK DVD's. Is this true and if so is it possible to change the codes?

I live in the UK but visit the US regularly. I plan to buy a MacBookPro in the US but have read that it will not play UK DVD's. Is this so? If so, is it possible to change the codes?

All modern & new Macs can play both PAL and NTSC DVDs.  I do it all the time and it works perfectly.
The DVD drive is set to its first region code when you first play a DVD in it.  So when you buy a Mac, whatever type of DVD you play first will determine the initial region code that is set.   If it's a PAL/Region 2 DVD it will set the DVD drive to region 2.
The only thing you have to watch out for is if you have a collection of DVDs that have different region codes.  In those cases you may be faced with changing the region code in the DVD drive in order to play one or more of the DVDs; and as others have noted there is a limit to the number of times you can change the region code (most modern DVD drives allow up to 5 changes; the 5th change becomes the permanent change).  This is due to industry licensing practices.
If you have DVDs that are Region 0 or All Regions you don't have to worry about region codes.

  • I'm going to tour thailand and plan on buying an iPad 2 while I'm there will this work like a uk model when I return to the uk

    Please help

It will work ok. If you are planning on getting a 3G version then I think that they are GSM/sim based like in the UK (and AT&T in USA) - if they are CDMA based (like Verizon models in USA) then they won't work on UK 3G networks. Apart from that you may need a plug adapter when you come back, depending on what their sockets are like, and potentially have to pay import duty

  • I want to buy a wireless headset for my iPad that will allow me to lissen to a video while blocking out any other sounds in the room yet is comfortable. I do not have any experience with headsets so I do not know what to expect.

  • As of this morning (5/19) I am unable to open a new tab, even after restarting my laptop. I have had firefox 3.6.13. I was planning on updating, but I am not sure if that will fix the problem, any suggestions?

I initially thought that my laptop froze up, but this was not the case. I do not want to have to uninstall, I am in school and have a lot of bookmarks that are vital to my learning, to lose those would be detrimental to my education. Can anyone help with this malfunction?

Please update Firefox to 3.6.17 a.s.a.p. the reason being that there was a security breach at Comodo which is an SSL certificate provider recently whereby a number of fraudulent certificates were inadvertently issued. These allow a hacker to impersonate any site including online banking and the Firefox version you're running at the moment will not warn you that the site is a fake. The fraudulent certificates were blacklisted in v3.6.17 and beyond.

  • It is possible to buy an unlocked cellular iPad 4 at an Apple Store?

    Hello everybody,
Planning to buy an unlocked Ipad 4 with cellular, but it can only be foung at Amazon.
I want to buy it at an Apple Store or authorized retailer for my own peace of mind, since it will be used abroad the US, but I can not find this option at the online store.
    Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Verizon and Sprint are CDMA carriers, so to use a device with their CDMA service the device must be built for that carrier. But again, the GSM portion of an iPad is not locked and can be used with any carrier that offers compatible GSM service.
Note, however, that if you do not live in the US, it would be wisest to buy the iPad in your home country. The warranty on any cellular iPad is valid only in the country of original sale. Should a problem arise with a WiFi+Cellular iPad from the US, you would to send it to someone you know in the US to get it serviced and then send it back to you.
    Regards.

  • I live in india. I am planning to buy an iPad from US.  Will an iPad from US work in India?

    Hello everyone
I am new to this Community and have a query.
I am planning to buy an iPad from US.
As I live in India , will my iPad work in INDIA?
Will I have to choose any specific carrier for that and why.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sushil Raisinghani

Well, first you have to come to the US to do that. When you do you will pay US sales tax in the state where you purchase it. Understand that once your return to India your warranty will not likely be honored, so you will have to return it to the US for any warranty repair. If you have it repaired in India by a non-Apple certified shop, then any further warranty will be voided.
Keep that all in mind before doing what you plan to do. You may find it is wiser to purchase it in India from an Apple certified reseller or retailer.

  • What product can I buy that will provide portable power to my MacBook Pro and iPhone and iPad when I am flying?

What product can I buy that will supply portable power to my MacBook Pro, iPhone and iPad when I am flying?
I recently was on an extended trip and the port for charging at my seat was not working.

    Unfortuntly you can't.
The Apple Airline adapter is only meant to keep a fully charged battery from draining, however with newer computers requiring more power, they tend to drain the battery AND the power at the same time, thus require more power hook up without the computer running to charge the battery.
Since your iPhone and iPad charge off USB, that's going to drain the MacBook Pro battery as well.
To generate enough power to charge all three will require a portable generator which of course can't be used on a plane.
The best you can do is have all three charged up before you board the plane, and use each for as long as you can.

  • I have an iPhone 4 (CDMA) that is unlocked, can I use this in Europe with a European SIM card?

I have an iPhone 4 (CDMA) that is unlocked, can I use this in Europe with a European SIM card?

An iPhone 4 CDMA is CDMA only. It doesn't have any GSM circuitry and doesn't have a SIM slot. You can only use it on the network it was originally sold for.

  • HT4528 I currently use Verizon and have a Blackberry with an unlimited data plan. Is there a way I can buy an unlocked iphone and keep my unlimited data plan bypassing Verizon's requirement to get a new plan with a 2 year committment?

Is there a way to purchase a new iPhone and to continue my unlimited data plan without having to sign a new 2 year committment and new plan with Verizon?

You don't buy an unlocked phone. You buy a Verizon iPhone at full retail. I just did this myself last month. I paid full retail for the phone and activated it on my plan. This allowed me to get a new phone before I was eligible to upgrade and keep my unlimited data. I also got a good deal on trading in my iPhone 5.
You can buy the phone through Verizon or through Apple. If you buy it through Apple, I'd suggest that you not have them activated but do that yourself by logging into your account on your computer.
    Best of luck.
