Connect the device to the computer.
Open iTunes.
Select the content desired to sync.
Sync.

You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

My computer will not download the itunes 10.7 update
my computer will not download the itunes 10.7 update. It gets as far as 20.7 mb then stops and comes up with a message "errors occurred while installing the updates". Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

The iPad is telling you to connect your iPad to iTunes on your computer so do it. You may have to restore the device.

Are you manually managing your songs?
In itunes - music do you see checkmarks next to your musis/songs. IF so go find your new songs click on it and then sync your music again. -
Can someone help me please ? I was using itunes (downloading albums etc) just half an hour ago. I had a pop up asking me if i'd like to download the latest version of itunes, which i accepted. When the update had finshed downloading, i then restarted my computer, as i usually would. Tried to re access the itunes store, and received the following error message: 'Cant connect to the itunes store. An unknown error occurred (-3212) please check you have an active internet connection and try again.
Needless to say, i have an active internet connection and cant see any reason why this would be happening, it has never happened before ?

Problem solved. The music was from Amazon MP3 store and I had to re-download it from the Amazon Cloud Player to my hard drive. It was there, but not even the Amazon Cloud Player software would play it from my PC, though it would from the Cloud. So after the re-download, I was able to add it to my iTunes Library.

Why won't the iTunes directory listing update, yet the subscriptions will?
In the iTunes music store podcast directory, the listing for my podcast says that the most recent podcast is 5 November 2006, even though the podcast has been weekly since (as well as 2 years before that!).
The subscription to the RSS feed through my iTunes automatically updates when a new podcast is released, so I can only assume that the podcast has a valid RSS feed, and that the problem lies elsewhere. That, and the fact we have thousands of listeners downloading each week! Additionally, through feed validator, the rss feed came back as validated.
I tried pinging the iTunes store, and the screen said it was successfully pinged. Nothing in the listing has changed. Some strange thing happened in 2006, when the iTunes store did update the listing, and it stopped as soon as it started again!
Can anyone help?

LucasOne of the main causes of a feed not updating is that it no longer validates. In this case though, everything I can think of checks out, including the category tag (which was unchanged from earlier versions).
Even without pinging the iTunes Store, a feed will at some stage be crawled and have the updated info added to the database.

Installed Snow Leopard OK, but when uploading the Mac OS X Update Combined, it would not save. It said it could not connect to update server, but my internet connection is working. Any suggestions on fixing?
Run software up date, write down the update name and version. Go to the Apple site and do a search for the updates one at a time and download them one at a time. Use an ethernet connection, sometimes software update "crushes large updates. I have experienced this before. Hope it helps. ATB
