HT200160 Where do I find another AFP system?

"Make an AFP connection to another system "
How on earth do you do this? What is it? Where do I find one? What do I do if I do not have access to such a thing?

Assuming the other Macs have System Preferences -> Sharing -> File Sharing enabled
Then you should see the Macs on my local network offering file sharing in any Finder side-bar.
You can also use Finder -> Go -> Connect to server.  You can browse for available servers on your local network, or you can enter afp://other_macs_name.local.  The Connect to server dialog also allows you to save favorites.

It should, since the one that came with my Zalman was slightly different than the stock MSI metal plate.  I don't think the Zalman would attach properly if you didn't use the metal plate that should have came with it.

  • Major Blunder! Is there a folder where I can find another backup?

In my haste to exit Pages, I stupidly said no to saving the document I was working on [it was an existing doc of another title and from another folder]. Now there is no backup of the new doc. I still have the original documents that I started from. Is there anywhere in my finder that I might be able to extract the lost document?
    Cheers

    No. Unfortunately.
You are still using OSX 10.5.8? Lion offers some protection.

  • Where can I find the Hyperion System 9 Downloads?

I'm specifically looking for System 9 Essbase and Financial Reporting components.
    Thanks!

    Four common places:
http://download.oracle.com - most common. This is the usual source for 'developer license' copies (which are usually the same as)
http://edelivery.oracle.com - formal download source for Oracle. This is the source of the CD Pack (ordered from http://store.oracle.com).
http://metalink.oracle.com - a source for older copies available to registeres and properly licensed users. Open a service request.
Your Oracle sales rep may be able to arrange a copy.
Seems like you are asking for an older copy, siunce the current is 11.x, in which case the Metalink option is the most likely to work for you.

  • Where can I find a bookmarks system file in the Firefox app for Android?

What's the name of the bookmarks file in FF for Android?

It is not accessible in most cases. It is also not the same format as desktop Firefox. You need root to be able to access the file, if you do then it would be browser.db.

  • On installation of Firefox 4 beta, it tells me that it won't run on my Mac. When I go to system requirements, it takes me to a page for Firefox3.6 requirements. Where can I find the requirements for the beta?

The link to system requirements for Firefox 4 beta takes you to a page that gives you the requirements for Firefox 3.6 instead. I assume that the requirements for the beta are different as I can't seem to install the beta on my Macs. Where can I find the beta system requirements?

I never expected Mozilla to neglect the users of Apple's PowerPC (PPC) computers, while still supporting much older operating environments such as Windows XP. So, I should just throw away a $6,000 system, which is still fast and functional, and contribute masses of heavy metals to land-fills because…?
I'm hurt and confused after supporting Firefox for many years — installing and using it not only on my own computers but on most of my customers' computers. Now I have to tell my customers with PPC Macs they can't have a secure cross-platform browsing experience from Mozilla. They'll have to learn to use some other browser, or buy a new computer.
If one doesn't buy a new computer every year, one doesn't deserve Firefox 4. This is sort of sounding more like a Microsoft™© doctrine. (But wait, I can still have Firefox 4 on a ''SERIOUSLY CRAPPY WINDBLOWS XP pile of rubbish?!'') Please open your eyes Mozilla. This just doesn't make sense.

*Firefox 4 versions and later do not run on a PowerPC Mac.
*Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

For an unofficial Firefox 4 compatible version (TenFourFox) that runs on PowerPC Macs with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:

Is it possible to run two different versions of Apple operating system (for ex. 10.6.8 and 10.9) on a MacBook Pro, either on the same disk or from an external hard disk? If so, where would I find the details? (In order to be able to use the older applications no longer supported in 10.9)

If you want to add a second partition to the internal drive (in Disk Utility, select the drive, then open the partition tab and just click the + button), you should first be sure that you will have enough room to accommodate whatever the second volume will be. I am currently doing this for Snow and Mountain Lion.
To get to whatever volume is not the startup disk, restart and hold down option/alt at the chime, which will bring up a selection of the two volumes. Use the left or right arrow keys to select it and then hit enter/return.

  • Where I can find and use "Java Desktop System Management Tools "

With Solaris 10, you not only get the Java Desktop System desktop environment, but also the Java Desktop System Management Tools and a selection of free and trial Development Tools, which are available for download only.
I found only an information about JDS release 2

where i can find that , where i can use it
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-7575/6mmsrpduj?a=view
this page said how to install but ...where I can find CD/
    regards please help

Good question. It appears to have been installed with Solaris 11/06, as I have all of the packages listed here:
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-7575/6mmsrpdus?a=view
However, it does not appear in the Java Web Console. I tried adding it using the wcadmin command, but haven't managed to get it to run as per the docs. The documentation assumes that it is already installed and visible in the Java Web Console...
    According to this documentation:
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-1985/6mhm8o5l6?a=view#gdjpi
An application for the Java Web Console should have a WEB-INF directory and an app.xml file. The apoc packages come with neither, so something is missing.

I am still on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and do not have iCloud in my System Preferences. I have registered with iCloud online and backed up my iphone5 last night to my iMac. Where can I find the backup on my iMac?
Below is what comes up when I sign into iCloud - where are all the other applications that I need to backup?
Appreciate any answers to this query?
    Rachel

Your question is unclear.  If you're backing up to your iMac, (via iTunes, with cable or WiFi), this has nothing to do with iCloud and the backup is stored on your iMac here:
    : ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
