Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
Or If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partitirion & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk.

I did disable the security (AVG and Zone Alarm) when I tried on my own PC. My wife's laptop which eventually got it working also uses AVG and Zone Alarm but on an XP O/S whereas my PC is Vista - maybe this is why.

Something went wrong with the update, this can and does happen with every version of iOS.
There is nothing wrong with the update.
Simply restore the device via iTunes on the computer.
If iTunes is stating it will take hours to update, that indicates an extremely slow Internet connection and is likely the reason the OTA update failed.

Looks bad. I would strongly advise backing up the stuff on the other two partitions as soon as possible in case the rest of the drive goes wrong.
Beyond that, Disk Utility has limited abilities to repair disks, DiskWarrior uses a different approach and might, emphasis might be more successful. It has certainly done the job for me in the past when Disk Utility could not.

Double tap the Home button to bring up the multi-tasking bar...tap & hold any app until they all start to wiggle...tap the red minus sign to remove every app shown. Tap the Home button when finished. Try to delete the app now.

Select * from tabwould work only for Oracle, as far as I know. There is no system table called Tab in Access.

I am not able to update PO using BBP_PD_PO_UPDATE.
The way I am using all FM's in my program is as below
1. BBP_PD_PO_GETDETAIL
2. BBP_PD_PO_UPDATE - Importing parameter lv_changed returning value X but not saving the data
3 BBP_PD_PO_SAVE - Paasing GUID as GUID returned in UPDATE FM
4. COMMIT WORK AND WAIT.

Always check the ET_MESSAGES when calling the update. If there are "A" type of messages, it's not going to update. If there are "E" type of messages, depending on your "SAVE" or "HOLD" flag, it might not update either.

Not able to update the project using 'BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN'.

I want to create a project , with reference to an already existing project.
I am using 'BAPI_PROJECT_GETINFO' to get the data of the existing project.
The bapi gives the following:
1)     e_project_definition.
2)     e_wbs_element_table.
3)     e_wbs_hierarchie_table
I am passing the u2018e_project_definitionu2019 to 'BAPI_PROJECTDEF_CREATE' to create project.The project is created successfully.
But I am not able to update the project with u2018e_wbs_element_tableu2019
and u2018e_wbs_hierarchie_tableu2019. I am using 'BAPI_PROJECT_MAINTAIN' to update the project.
The program is not giving an error, but it is also not updating the E_WBS_ELEMENT_TABLE and E_WBS_HIERARCHIE_TABLE.

I am not sure why it is not working?? Try for any other alternate function modules.
But i see one issue with your coding, always check the return table message type and use commit work, instead of sy-subrc check. This fails for BAPI's
