  • Purchasing Music From Foreign iTunes Stores

I had just recently discovered the option of "My Store" at the very bottom of iTunes which enables customers to view other iTunes stores all over the globe. When trying to purchase music from the Österreich iTunes store, I found I wasn't able to do so. I received an error message, as shown above, stating that I was only valid for purchases within the US iTunes store. My question is simple: Why are US iTunes customers not allowed to purchase items from foreign iTunes stores? I do know that you must register to one country in order to begin your iTunes experience (when you first download the program) but does that choice of a country really limit you to your range of music? Is this due to various licensing laws or problems with converting currency? Also, if customers are not allowed to purchase items from foreign stores, why are they allowed the option to view these stores? Answers to these questions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Yes, it's all about copyright and licensing. Currency conversion isn't at issue. In order to purchase music from a particular store, you have to have 1) a valid billing address in the country and 2) a credit card billed to that address or purchase gift cards in that country. It is quite possible that one person could have valid residence and billing information for more than one country. My parents, for a long time, maintained residences in both the U.S. and Canada, so if the iTunes Store had been available, they could have had two accounts, one U.S. and one Canadian.
Yes, it seems at odds with our global economy but intellectual property law has really caught up to the twentieth century yet.

  • HT201272 Past music purchases not showing in iTunes store

So I've got iTunes 11.0.2 and am trying to access music that I've previously purchased. I've followed the instructions on this page to access them:
iTunes store -> Music -> Music Quick Links -> Purchased.
On this screen, all I can see is three tabs: Films, Apps, and Books (screenshot attached). All of them are empty. No Music tab, although I've bought some music just yesterday.
I'm trying to access some albums that I bought a couple of years ago - they should be available, just as the more recent music purchases.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Danny,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Take a look at the article linked below, it will walk you through downloading and displaying hiding iTunes in the Cloud content.

  • Use and update purchased apps from one iTunes store account to another?

I have two iTunes Store Accounts (Apple ID's) with the vast majority of purchases, music and apps, made on one account, but I've created a second account and wish to use it to sync with my iPhone.
Will I be able to continue to use and update the apps on my iPhone purchased with the first account?
    Thanks.

This sounds like the kinda thing Apple support might be able to help with. It's possible they might be able to merge the 2 accounts or switch user names around or something.
Apps and Protected music files are locked to one account. I don't think there is any way you(personaly) can transfer and/or updated them on a different account.

  • When does the iTunes store usually update its libraries with new content in the US, specifically TV shows?

Hello Apple community. I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me approximately when the iTunes Store usually updates its content. I have a couple TV shows I'm watching. I noticed that new episodes of The Amazing World of Gumball and The Looney Tunes Show tend to update with the newest episode the day after it airs. Gumball is usually updated on Tuesdays, sometimes every other Tuesday, but the new episode isn't available on the store yet. It's possible that a holiday threw the scheduled update times off. Still, I would like to know approximately when the iTunes Store updates. I like to plan things out so I know when to purchase gift cards. Thanks Apple community.

The facility to ping the Store, to draw attention to a change in your podcast, has been removed: the Store will check your feed and update - usually this takes 1-2 days. I was never convinced that pinging made any difference anyway.

  • How to delete the loadings list in the itunes store (1000 tunes are downloading with no reason)

    Hi
I switched from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5c and now the itunes store app wants to download 1000 tunes (I guess it cannot try more) and it blocks.
I don't know how to delete the list (not one by one of course .
If someone has any clue to help
    Thanks

    Hi Francis,
Check the BADI "TRIP_WEB_CHECK" method "USER_CHECK_GENERAL_DATA".
Here based on the schema you can modify the "estimated cost" field.
    Hope it helps.

  • I can't connect to the itunes store and have some problems with other websites. Some websites load OK. I had the same problem on my iPad and changed the DNS, but don't want to do this on my iMac, anyway, surely I should have my router's DNS?

I can't connect to the iTunes store from my iMac and have problems loading a number of other websites, however some websites load perfectly well. I have had the iTunes store issue on my iPad and resolved it by changing the DNS but surely I should use the DNS for my router. I don't really want to change it for the iMac as I access secure sites with it to internet shop.
Any ideas, I was going to try loading Chrome but can't get it without going through the iTunes store. Anyway, that is treating the symprom not the cause.

Adding Open DNS codes to your Network Preferences, should give good results in terms of speed-up as well as added security, (including anti-phishing and redirects) (Full information about Open DNS is here: http://www.opendns.com/home/nobloat ) and further independent information can be read here:
    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57338784-263/free-dnscrypt-tool-enhances-ma c-web-security/?tag=mncol;txt
    and here:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1146064/troubleshootdns.html?t=234
Open System Preferences/Network. Double click on your connection type, or select it in the drop-down menu, and in the box marked 'DNS Servers' add the following two numbers:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
(You can also enter them if you click on Advanced and then DNS)
Sometimes reversing the order of the DNS numbers can be beneficial in cases where there is a long delay before web pages start to load, and then suddenly load at normal speed:

  • Change the iTunes store an app is associated with

I have two active iTunes store accounts in two countries because I have homes in both locations (U.S. and another country). These two accounts allow me to download content that is available only in one of those countries to my one iPhone. I know how to switch back and forth between the stores when it is time to update my collection of apps, but I have gotten to the point where I'm tired of the constant switching back and forth that I need to do -- literally every day -- to keep all my apps up to date.
For this reason, I would like to make it so that all apps that are available in the U.S. store are associated with my U.S. account and only those apps that are unique to the other country be associated with that country's store/my account with that country.  The apps that are unique to the other country are a fraction of my app collection, so I would like only those apps to be associated with that country's account.  Unfortunately, a lot of the apps that are available in both countries I downloaded from my other country store, therefore they are associated with that account/country despite being available in the U.S. as well. Even though I spend a lot of time in my U.S. account, I am constantly having to switch to update, say, Instagram, when I wish I could have done the update back in the U.S. account where Instagram is an available app.
In other words, how can I change the country store that an app is associated with?  Do I have to delete and re-download them from the store I want them associated with?
The reason I ask, and the reason I find this so frustrating, is Apple knows when an app needs updating, regardless of the origin store. When my iPhone is logged into the U.S. account, I still get notified of the app update in the other country's store and I'm prompted to log in to that account. Why can't I just update it in my U.S. account, particularly since the app is available in the U.S.?
    Thanks for the help.

Sorry, but what you ask is not possible. You cannot change the iTunes Store nor the iTunes Store account an app is assocated with. Why Apple has this setup for apps that are common to more than one country I can't say; it may be due to copyright and other legal issues that differ from country to country, or just that they haven't found it practical to set up different mechanisms for media - which must be handled separately for each country - and apps.
In any case, though, there's nothing you can do. You will have to update through each store separately, or re-acquire the apps in the account/country you wish to use most often.
    Regards.

  • Purchasing songs from other Itunes Stores

The selection of International music at the US Itunes Store is very limited, to put it politely.
While I can access, view, and listen to, all songs that are available at overseas Itune Stores, (such as Itunes in France); I cannot purchase them even though their price is shown in US currency (99 cents) and not in Euros.
Does anyone know how to purchase and download songs from these other Itune stores, or to contact a real live person at Itunes for help in doing so?
    Dell   Windows XP

Unless you can show some form of residency you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

  • Unable to purchase content from US iTunes store

Has anyone else had difficulty purchasing content ie tv shows from the US iTunes store with your log in information? itunes allows me to browse the US site and choose items to buy but when I log in to purchase them I am told that because I am Canadian I have to buy the items from the Canadian itunes store, which although the tv programs are broadcast here on Canadian networks Itunes doesn't allow me to purchase the same tv programs. WIll there be a Canadian version of the TV programs section of ITunes coming soon?

This has been covered here literally dozens of times, but once again: the content owners do not allow cross-border sales from any of the legal download stores. You must therefore have legal residence in the country of the iTunes Music Store you wish to use. So in order to buy from another country's iTunes Music Store, you must (as proof of residence) have either:
    a) a credit card issued by a bank in that country with a billing address also in that country, or
    b) a mailing address for your residence in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
This, again, is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the rights holders, not by Apple's choice. When, or indeed if, the owners of the TV shows will allow Apple to sell them in your country, no one here can say. We'll all just have to wait and see.
Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Discussions page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums, in the User Tips Library and in the Apple Knowledge Base before you post a question.
    Regards.

  • Purchasing songs from foreign iTunes stores

How do I purchase a song available from the iTunes UK store? I get a message that states I can only purchase songs from the USA store. I really want Kid Rock's new song, "All Summer Long" and it's not available at the US iTunes store.

In order to purchase a song from the U.K. Store, you would need 1)a valid U.K address and 2) a credit card billed to that address or a gift card purchase in the U.K. Sorry.

  • Where is "Check for Purchases" in the itunes Store?

I can't find the Check for Purchases button I'm supposed to click on to see my purchases in the itunes store menu. Where do I find it?

Expanding a bit on what Deb said, the command is under the iTunes Store menu (just to clarify that you're not looking for a web link but rather an application menu command).

  • I am using Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit on a brand new PC, and cannot connect to the iTunes store using iTunes version 10.  HELP!!

Ok, so after purchasing a new computer, with windows 7 pro, 64 bit, I tried downloading the newest iTunes, which at the time was 10.2.1 (i believe).  After installation, everything seemed to work, except that iTunes was unable to securely connect to the internet, use home sharing, or validate my computer.
As troubleshooting, I first ran msconfig, and then turned OFF all programs that boot at start up EXCEPT itunes and quicktime.  After a restart, i opened itunes again, and got the same result.  That led me to believe that iTunes was NOT being blocked by another program on my machine.  I am currently running itunes 10.7 successfully on a Windows 7 32 machine at work.  Anyhow, for grins, I tried to install version 9 on the new computer, and it installed perfectly, and immediately connected to the itunes store, leading me to believe that there is nothing wrong with my software configuration (not sure if this is a safe assumption or not).  I then tried to let iTunes update itself using the automated update function.  It tried to update itself to the most current version, then 10.6.  Again, iTunes was unable to connect to the iTunes store.  I HAVE tried disabling the anti-virus software (AVG), but that made no difference.
I have since gone back and reinstalled iTunes 9.  Here's the catch though.  When I reinstalled using version 9, I had to redo all my library files.  I'm about 1/2 way through my CD's, and now have a substantial library file going.  The last time I let iTunes update itself to 10.6, once I realized that it was not going to connect to the store, I uninstalled iTunes, and reinstalled ver. 9.  However, when I did this, it told me it could no longer open the library file, because it was a newer .itl or .xml (i believe it was one of those two extensions) library file.  At that point, I basically started everything over again, using version 9, and have been importing CD's like a madman at night.
    Here are my questions:
    1) Is there a way to make a copy of the files that store my library info, so that if my upgrade to ver 10 IS NOT SUCCESSFUL, I can restore ver 9, but still have all of the album art work, playlists (when I import music, I create a playlist with the artists' name, and store things that way), etc. in tact?
    2) What else can I try (firewall settings, internet options, etc.) to try and get version to to successfully install?  I would really like to get all the benfits of the newer versions.
    3) When I tried to get apple tech support before, they wanted me to pay a ridiculous 69$ fee for phone support.  I just bought an iphone 5....this should entitle me to a fresh 90 days of phone support, right?  The reason I ask here is that I could hardly understand the "tech" that answered the phone when I called for tech support last time, and to be honest, it really ****** me off that they wanted to try and milk me for another 69 bucks....I've purchased every iPhone since the 3Gs came out (pre-ordered at that), and have nearly gone broke purchasing music from their iTunes store....heck, maybe they're doing me me a favor not letting me into the store, huh?
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated,
    -Brian

    Many thanks.
