I recently purchased an iPhone and seem to have acquired an American apps store app. I have tried to update my purchased apps. The pop up message Said Account not in this store. Your account is not valid for use in the US store. You must switch to the Uk Store before purchasing
I press ok and it doesn't tell me how to do this. How to switch to the UK apps store?
Oh, you want to remove it from your purchases list for the iTunes Store? You cannot. That is just a history of what you have purchased.

Is there a way to hide apps from the app store?
I don't want my kids to see those "free" apps that nag you to spend real money and download their other apps!
I can hide them from "purchased apps", but they still show up when browsing for new apps!
Is there a way to hide them so that my kids will never see them when looking for new apps?Not other than parental oversight. On the computer you can implement Parental Controls on a separate user account that they would use. You can then block certain websites. But you cannot do that on the iPad.
You could change your iTunes account such that they cannot access it in order to buy or download apps. -

Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID. -

It's a built-in app, so it can't be deleted nor downloaded from the store. If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > Camera being set 'off' ?
If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find it after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -

You can only use the Messages app with other iOS users. It does not send SMS text messages. You need to use a third party texting app if you want to text with non iOS users.
Look at TextFree or Viber. -

I assume you do mean a different account and not simply a different iTunes library. Unfortunately, in order to switch accounts, you would need to log out and log in to the second account.
