My iPod touch 4th gen. Keeps giving me the error message "cannot connect to the app store when I sign in. I can open the app store and browse it but I can't download anything. I have full signal strength with my wi-fi and safari is working perfect. I turned it off and restarted it 3 times now. I have an iPad 2 and the app store works flawlessly with it. What is going on?
Same here on my lpad2. Can access the web just fine from browsers but cannot install new apps or updates in appl store. Seeing a few others reporting same issue tonight so likely an apple server issue and staff will notice it in network monitors and fix it...sometime this weekend.

Too many people are flooding Apple's servers, everyone is having this issue, try every so often, or wait until tomorrow.

I found the following that goes over troubleshooting the same issue for the iPhone. I know you have an iPad, but the steps should still apply:
Perform the following steps:
Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to a known-good Wi-Fi network if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Apple for assistance.

I'm having trouble with my iPhone 5 yesterday I just saw a message saying iPhone is not activated and every time I try it won't work it's saying the activation server is temporarily unavailable . I have the ios 7 I got it from a friend that has a developers account . Even I plug my phone to iTunes it won't still activate I don't know what else to do I'm so frustrated about this cuz I'm waiting for an important call its for ,my job interview please help
If you have iOS 7 your're either a developer or a thief. If you're a developer, post in the developer forum. If you're a thief, hopefully you will be prosecuted. In any case, you cannot receive support here.

4 possible causes for that error message:
1] Activation server is actually down. Very rare occurrence, and of short duration when it
does happen. Solution - try again.
2] Your firewall and/or antivirus software are preventing the necessary connection. Solution -
temporarily disable your firewall and/or antivirus software until the activation completes.
3] computer being used for activation has been used to jailbreak an iOS device in the past.
Solution - use a different computer.
4] iPad has been jailbroken. Google may provide some direction, but jailbreaks often prevent
updates from succeeding. Per Terms of Use for this forum, discussion of jailbroken iPads is
prohibited. -

My 4th generation ipod nano is frozen of thealnguage screen. I have tried to restore it but it keeps getting frozen on that same screen. My wheel is unresponsive. I have also reset it with no results.
Do I need to have it repaired and if so is it cheaper to just buy a new one?Depends on how much you are willling to spend on repairs as well as where you decide to send it in for repairs. Apple won't actually repair the iPod but instead will swap it out for a refurbished unit of the same generation and capacity. So it would be a bit cheaper to send it to a 3rd party repair center who will actually swap out the damaged/faulty parts.

It comes up with a 1428 error message sometimes, and sometimes it says that I have to restore my iPod. I have restored it many times, but it just keeps going in a circle and will not sync my songs back to the iPod.
hmmmm. if you're relentlessly getting a recovery mode message, then you might be having a Windows drive letter confusion. see the following document for troubleshooting suggestions with that:

Why does my 4th gen ipod touch not find the same wifi signals that my macbook does?
My macbook connects to btfon/btopenzone everytime, but my ipod touch can only occaisonally recieve the signal and when it does will drop connection very often.
Also, the Mac, if relatively new, will see networks that operate on the 5 GHz N band. The iPod only sees 2.4 GHz networks..

Why don't the new 4th gen ipod touches come with the headphones with a mic?
They came with the 3rd generation 32g & 64g ipod touches, why dont they come with the 4thgen ipod touches -___- Those headphones are expensive and i would like them to at least include a **** charger too.
Probably because the earlier iPod Touchs did not have a built-in mic like the 4G does.
