HT201413 I've updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 7 and cant restore
itunes is telling me to restore my iphone so i am. However, i keep getting error 14 and then error 6 and I've done what this page says but its not working.
Error 13, 14, 35 and 50 (or -50)
These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
Try a different Dock Connector or Lightning Connector to USB cable.
Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. An incorrectly set default packet size can cause this error. Contact the software manufacturer that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
Errors related to third-party security software
Error 2, 4 (or -4), 6, 1000, 9006
Follow the steps to troubleshoot security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.

Verify that access to ports 80 and 443 are allowed on your network.
Verify that communication to albert.apple.com or phobos.apple.com isn't blocked by a firewall or other Internet security setting.
Discard the .ipsw file, open iTunes and attempt to download the update again. See the steps under "Advanced steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw)" below for file locations.
Restore your device while connected to a different network.
Restore using a different computer.

Hi guys,
I have just updated my iphone 4 to iOS 5 and have lost everything!
I did a back up prior to the install and have the latest version of iTunes. I completed the install and went to retrieve the back up via a restore, I selected the latest restore, it thinks about it then comes up with the following error message: "File is corrupt or not compatible with this phone"
I was also perviously using Mobile Me for instances like this, though my accont has recently expired and I can no longer access it, all my data was stored on there. Annoying!
Can anyone help? Be a huge help...If you made a backup in iTunes before upgrading you can access the data with iPhone / iPod Touch Backup Extractor.
Can be downloaded from here: http://supercrazyawesome.com/
This helped me getting my Notes back after the upgrade to iOS 5. -

So I just updated my iphone 4S to iOS 6 and was having fun trying the panorama pictures, and all of the sudden my phone turned off (it was fully charged so it's not out of batery and it felt warm) and it has since not turned on again. Suggestions?
Even if it is a hardware problem they should fix it regardless of warranty. If you buy a car and after 1.5 years the doors fall off due to a failure in their design and construction, do you think the car manufacturer could pull off what Apple is trying to do? Yes the car still delivers its primary objective of driving from A to B, but significant functionality has been lost due to their fault.
It is the same with this iPhone wifi problem. Apple are a disgrace, I have had significant Apple Hardware failures with my MacBook Pro and iPhone within 2 years of purchase. Pathetic quality. -

Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Perform a Reset...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

If no joy...
Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and “ Restore “...

I recently updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 and suddenly after a few days my App Store Kept telling me it couldn't connect to iTunes Store! How Can This Be Solved?
If you would take a moment and looka t the other posts in the forums, you will see that this is being asked over and over and over and over again.
Apparently there is an issue with itunes.
Be patient. Wait. Try again later. -
So i just updated my iPhone 5 to ios 7 and i can't turn on the location services...a press on the button wich turns on the location services but nothing happens and it doesn't apear green like all others softwere buttons.
General> Reset< Reset All Settings will work! Be careful not to erase! and you will have to redo all of your settings. Everything, ringers, even wifi will be lost! Big pain!!! I still dont have everything like I used to after the reset, but location services can be enabled again.

Updated my iphone 3gs to ios 5 and now it keeps just shutting off and coming back on?
I updated my iphones 3gs to ios 5 and now it just randomly shuts off and on. whats wrong with it?
don't ask me why this worked, but it did for me last night. In iTunes, where your device shows up on the left side, I double clicked on it. It then allows you to change the name like you can for changing file/folder names. I changed 1 letter on the name of the ipod and hit enter. I then right clicked on the new ipod name and chose restore from backup. My choices for backup was the original name of the ipod only and not the name i had just changed it to. I told it to go ahead and backup from the old name figuring I would get the same results, but not the case. It restored it with all app, music and pictures with one exception...all of the settings, email setup and information within the apps was lost. Atleast that an easier fix than starting all over. Hope this will work for you guys too with the same issue.

I was updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 7 today and before I did, I backed my phone up into iCloud. Then while it was updating an error occured and now itunes is telling me the only way to power up my phone is to restore the whole device. Is it possible to power up my phone without restoring the whole device? Or without loosing everything?
Not if the error says to restore in iTunes. You should have made a backup before the update, so you should be able to restore to that backup. But with the device in recovery mode as it is, there is no way to backup anything at this time. If you did not make a backup before updating then you can only restore to your latest backup, whenever that was. If no backup at all, then you will have to restore the device as new, losing everything.

I tried to update my iphone 4S to ios 8, but it turned off and now the screen only shows that I have to connect my iphone to iTunes. Upon connecting, it says I have to restore my iPhone. I've never actually had a fond memory of restoring my phone i the past, so i'd rather not have to do that now. Is there anything I can do to fix my iPhone without restoring it?
As you were told in your previous post asking the exact same question, no.
You must restore your iPhone. The answer will not change no matter how many times you ask. -
I cant see the camera access on the lock screen , I just updated my iphone 4 to IOS 5, anyone nows why??
I've repeatedly had problems with my Yahoo! account on iOS 4 too, and I've had to delete it, then set it up again. It kept asking for my password, though the phone had it memorized, and when I entered it, I'd get the same error message about no password being set. Could be the Mail app has a problem with Yahoo!, because on my MacBook Pro too, the Yahoo! account sometimes gets locked out.
Oh, and thanks for the tip about the lock screen: I've just posted a new discussion about this. Should have searched the forum first, I know... -
I cannot access Bluetooth or wifi after updating my iPhone software to iOS 7 on my iPhone 4S
Same here--I cannot connect to my home wifi--and there's no option to re-enter my password/WEP--it just says "can't connect"....so far I've tried turning wifi on and off on my devices (iPhone 4s and iPAD 2nd gen), no avail. I tried re-setting up the network, no luck.

I updated to the iOS 6 yesterday and just noticed all of my safari bookmarks are gone. I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 6, I use iCloud for backing up my phone. Any help is appreciated.
What were you syncing your contacts with? If you were not syncing them to a contact manager or cloud service as intended, you may have to purchase 3rd party software to try and extract what informaion there is from the backup.
